Feels like triple digits of heat outside and so it must be time for...

SOUP!

Well, inside it's nice and comfortable down into the mid seventies! (Due to air-conditioning, but of course!)

Corn chowder was my choice to make from scratch today and I just so happen to have all the ingredients, and besides we ate leftover suppers for lunch!
The chowder was served with a half of a baguette that we picked up from Publix's bakery the last time we went shopping. I had frozen it, so smacking it on the counter top broke it into three additional pieces on the one end, leaving half to go back, just perfect! By the time the soup was ready it was defrosted just right!

Corn is high in anti-oxidants and helps with eyesight and clear skin as well as it being loaded with fiber.
Frozen corn was used, about two cups for just us.
Sauteed half of a white onion chopped.
Two cups of no sodium chicken bouillon.
1/4 cup of 1% fat milk, and a 1/4 cup of Greek nonfat yogurt.
Two tablespoons of flour.
Three slices of bacon cooked crispy and crumpled.
One large Russet potato pre peeled and cooked and chopped.
Combine all and simmer, add Kosher salt and black cracked pepper to taste.

The soup pot yielded several large cup portions with more for leftovers!

Moving on...

Today, I called the podiatrist and thought that I would be getting an appointment for my first visit with this specialist weeks down the line, but no, amazingly I got an appointment for this week!
YAY!

I suppose it's because the "Snowbirds" are not back here yet.

Moving on some more...

Officially, many locales south of us would like the world to know that a month after being hit by Hurricane Irma they are open for business that is TOURISTS!

Many locations are, you know.
Some are partially reopening, but all utilities are working everywhere!
We need the businesses world; so come on down!

Our mini vacay was one hundred miles north of here and all was well there, pretty much.

Even our county is fine!
Little damage and all stores and hotels functioning.
Beaches cleaned and neat too!
Most are, top priority here, money maker there and there and there...!

We have yet to have gone out in our boat, Hubby is still working down there, at the dock and lift, so no time yet.

After Hurricane Charlie the debris in the waterways was significant, but that was a direct hit, Category 4, and this time Irma skirted our county, thank you very much, so not as much damage as there could have been!
WHEW!

Pray for all people dealing with all natural disasters and help!

Dealing with life...

...is an individual process and experience.
Many of us survive horrors in life and react accordingly.
We either dwell in the misery or try hard to move on.
Death of loved ones are the most difficult.
Many have the attitude of going on for those that we lost, as that is what they would have wanted.
Sometimes this works for coping, and other times it takes a while to absorb that positive way of handling things.
Naturally everyone heals emotionally at their own pace.
But if anyone notices that it is taking too long or having a negative effect on their surviving loved ones we must try hard to intervene as gently as possible or bring in professional help.

Sadness and crying helps.
Talking too.
People do understand.
You might be pleasantly surprised on how much.

Moving on...

To all our northern Gulf coast neighbors we hope that encounter with Hurricane Nate was not too violent, and from all recent reports they did fare better than the southern areas of the Gulf did.
And now Nate is no more!

Whew!

Moving on some more...

In spite of my achy bits, I did accomplish many things today, laundry and dinner.
Hubby has been consistently working down on the dock and lift.
We have shared indoor chores, if one makes a meal the other does the dishes, and vice versa.
Alternating meal preparation too by one another.

I do seem to have the job of laundry though most days, but Hubby does make the bed, since he is last out of it, and he usually does the changing of the clean sheets weekly, although I do them too.
Towels are changed twice a week and that is my job.
Due to retirement for Hubby these last eleven years, except for BIG projects we share most all jobs of domestically!
This way we keep our partnership just that!
But of course... 46 + years!

Although, when I have so many bad days and I do, Hubby does everything.
Not fair, and sure I have tons of guilt, and he even gets exhausted and sometimes is not happy about it, any of it...and so some days are just downright hard.

But then things change again and we manage just fine!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Life an amazing ever changing thing!

BIG SMILE INSERTED HERE!

How could this be?

Plantar Fasciitis: http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/plantar-fasciitis/symptoms-causes/syc-20354846
Oddly enough as many things with our mini vacay to Ybor City and Busch Gardens Tampa while on day three of our exploration and me on my motorized wheelchair my feet swelled daily, but a new element also began to cause a painful dilemma.

My walker was used while in the hotel room, and so I basically maneuvered myself in there, and began to have severe heel pain accompanied by a sensation of a falling arch all in my left foot only.
And for some reason with my normal method of treating the swelling in my ankles with icing and elevation,  MY LEFT FOOT, was not cooperating!
No Danial Day-Louis was there either.
So I as most people do Googled my symptoms and that is when I came up with Plantar Fasciitis.
But I did not meet the criteria.
I am not a runner nor an athlete at all, and I am off my feet more than on them.
I am thinner, by about fifty pounds I think, than I was when I did walk, although I suppose technically still obese.
And that is the only thing that could be met within the perimeters of what I read to have caused this, ironically!
Because when I weighed more I did not have this issue!

Any-who, I iced it raised and took Tylenol, since I cannot take any anti-inflammatory medications since one gave me a bleeding ulcer years ago!

By this past Friday, two days after we came home at around three thirty I called my chronic care nurse Debbie.
I thought it wouldn't hurt to see my internist next week.
I described my symptoms without mentioning what I found by Googling, and she said right away it sounds like Plantar Fasciitis; I confessed that I Googled it and admittedly concurred.
She said I could see my internist or she felt that I needed to see a podiatrist, and looked up several within a couple of miles from our home.
I checked out their credentials on healthgrades.com and decided on two, a woman and a man, but both offices were closed till Monday.

On this note of full disclosure, oh I also threw out my spinal stenosis back, now full disclosure, ha!
Oh fun!
That is all for now.
But we did have a wonderful time met up with Number One and his gal and ate lunch Sunday together at the Columbia restaurant in Ybor, and then went through the museums together there.
He gave us seasons pass tickets to both Busch and Sea World, and we also had free parking and 30% off stores and food in the park!

So we have made reservations for Orlando in a couple of months too!
We used to go often with the boys when they were young to all of the parks and its been years since, so we decided why not?

No more pictures tonight!

Oh I have many more, but no one seems to want to play my odd game.
That's alright.

So as all of you I will move on...

When on our mini vacay this past Sunday night, when the massacre in Las Vegas occurred and of course we were speechless and horrified as everyone else.
But one thing baffles us all is the thought there had to be a reason; what are we all crazy??????????????
THERE IS NO GOOD REASON AT ALL EVER FOR ANYONE TO DO THIS!
Do you all hear me?

The man was irrational, perhaps clinically mentally ill, but why would any of that matter in the aftermath?
He was a home grown terrorist!
Horrifically we have had a long line historically of these lunatics!
Sure some have been associated with exterior radical groups whether American or of foreign attachments.
Their results have all been the same... creating human carnage!
The weapons have changed sporadically from simple bombs made with ammonia and fertilizer to pressure cookers with shrapnel to all types of weaponry, mostly of the military type or composites of some vivid engineered murdering machine that has been made by these killing machines of shells of the worse of human beings with their desire to destroy non threatening people for NO JUST REASON!

NO REASON!
NO WAY TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO STOP THEM IF THEY WANT TO DO THIS!

That is unless... we stop selling automatic weapons to people for hunting?
So they can pulverize their meat in prep for cooking?
Or perhaps by utilizing better more precise comprehensive psychological testing?
Maybe longer wait times for licensing of all types of non-hunting guns?
Get rid of that gizmo that seems we all agree on the one in this last mass murder and maiming!

LET'S FACE IT PEOPLE THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE ALREADY!
Why can't we picket/march on gun shops?
Or pass the legislation since everyone seems to agree that something has to be done!

My heart aches/breaks for all those families of those who died and the survivors who will never ever forget!
WE AS HUMAN BEINGS IN A SO-CALLED CIVILIZED SOCIETY MUST!
NO MORE DISCUSSION JUST DO IT!
 STOP THE MADNESS!

Next!
Our so-called leader of the free world, he has no understanding that he is to work with us for us, "WE THE PEOPLE"!
He says and does things that make us all cringe, and wish that he had a compassion bone in his body!
His sincerity is always with a caveat to his personal hurt feeling when he gets honest feedback from his asinine comments to people of higher intelligence than he.
And yes I do believe his people think he is a moron,( Most of us do) but are afraid of him, for some idiotic reason!
We need leadership and human kindness and sincerity of concern with the natural and horrendous happening that WE as a nation are enduring, not some jerk fitting us in between tee times!

That is it for tonight.
We need prayers for our nation... now with another major storm heading towards the mid Gulf coastline!

Please someone tell our Orange Frothy Haired Guy running our country into the ground tell him that we need someone to lean on, not a whiner, and that not everything is about HIM!

More hints...

Okay! Enough already! Has anyone guessed? The one PIC gives part of the location away?

Is it cold or hot here?

Staycation in this state is easy, even when you do leave your home for only one hundred miles north or even three hours away in our future! So I suppose not really a staycation? Only since we stayed elsewhere, in our... oh wait! Why spoil the game! Waiting...?  Safe Safari? Museum quality city?

Whenever you're ready these are locales that are must see for any and all people from all over the world and they do! Meeting people from international backgrounds makes these places that much warmer and the world smaller to love! Must see! Envelope one's self in these locales, truly!

Where in the world?

CUBA? Africa? America? Australia?

Where oh where?
Our respite from reality.
More hints to come... soon?

Speaking My Mind: Interesting familiar diagnosis for one and horrifi... :   But these are MINE! Not Hubby's! What he has is not contagio...
