Startling!

I know that I have a reputation, somewhat...
That is of not being as patient as many of you are.
Or for me allowing others to tell me that their way is right, even when I truly know that they are wrong...
Family is different than business people on how you handle them, right?
Sure kid gloves could/should be used with both that is instead of harsh bluntness, hmm?
Filters, that is what that is called, true?

Has it been working for you?
To get what you want done?
Or do you feel helpless and hapless and hopeless?

Fear no more!
Use the frustration card, explaining that you are needing to be paid for doing everyone else's job!
And action is yours for the staking!
Problems are solved!
Billing issues are fixed, actually, magically that elusive $340.43 was just that, fixed that is, since it was not mine, but now being subtracted from my July payment, since as I said I paid it online Saturday and today they sent it from my bill pay!
Sure I could stop payment at no charge to me, but now instead and after speaking with them and them  knowing that my bookkeeping was in fact correct after all. I suggested that I just pay the difference for this month's premium of $221.08, bringing the total to my usual $561.51 and we all agreed.

Another problem materialized today with the delivery of my MRI bill, for some reason my all encompassing deductibles from surgeries, hospital, doctor office visits etc. were no where to be located!
Voila!
Somehow, unbeknownst to me or Hubby who has a duplicate of my insurance card, the new one of options not select, which I destroyed not unlike credit cards that you don't use anymore or have received newer ones, you get the idea...

Amazingly, without benefit of our assist, since we both only have the newest card in our possession, the old select account was billed and paid all those charges, crazy!
Oh not that they were paid, but due to that I had no deductibles' credited towards any  new charges on the correct used account of options and so when I received bills from the MRI facility they billed me for the entire amount, so that was what I  was working on today.
You see, Florida Blue had nothing that they could find about them paying the hospital and it was an $18,000 plus bill( agreed percentage wise, of course) and my deductible of only $75 left me with a bill entirely paid by Florida Blue according to the  hospital, but the insurance company insisted that never happened!
Ordinarily I wouldn't care except for it was ALL WRONG!
They paid it with the other insurance plan that I was not on for even a few weeks and have been on this  since February 1st! Nothing happened in January to need any insurance...And this was April 30th for the hospital ER visit, see not right!

Any-who, after speaking with a woman named Nayelle, pronounced Natty, a competent supervisor for Florida Blue! After I had received from the hospital their claim number with Florida Blue, and an additional check payment reference number RE: the check that they received for payment! It is true that with the information I provided they were able to ascertain that it was sent to the select account that had been mine for a blip in time, but never actually used and no card was shown to anyone, on purpose or by mistake!

Oh well... I have been assured that all will be fine by this lovely soft spoken person, named Natty, but I have been fooled before by such sweetness though!
I appear to be at their mercy...and damn I don't like that, but in lieu of me starting my own insurance company I am between that proverbial rock and a hard place...

On that note of it being whatever it is, it is...allow me to be the very first  to wish all of you a very a happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

"Many will travel to hear you speak." "Your wisdom is a treasure for all time."

Sweet! And both of them mine, if only... i.e. my titled fortune cookies!

"Love is a warm fire to keep the soul warm."
Almost sounds like I wrote that slightly redundant fortune, with a nice sentiment though and it is Hubby's.
"Be considerate of your teachers." Another one of Hubby's and a few decades late.
Although, in reality we never stop learning, but whom could it be referring to, he is not currently dealing with anyone that would be in that role?

Hubby is disappointed with his this time, but I too have had a few that were not favorable and considered duds.

Jabbering about silly unimportant things when I am not a happy camper.
Sorry but this time I will be vague and not too explicit until all possible ways to handle this situation has been resolved.
Thus the feel good healthy Chinese steamed shrimp with Chinese vegetables dinner for me and Hubby's choice of Egg Foo Young and egg-drop soup for us both!
I don't eat the cookies, since I think that the company changed the recipe, I think, but the fortunes are always fun, true?

It's storming outside and it's looking as if the news tease, they might be hinting at something else possibly going on!
Do we need anymore here in Florida?
In the last few weeks they, now I forget which "they" it was this time, but what was said is that we top the list of being the most stressful state, yep number one, (that explains a lot for me anyway), and also number one for the most tornadoes, huh? That one I question a bit, due to the fact we are nowhere near tornado alley, and sadly all those horrendous horrible ones that have recently hit far from here! Pray for them all!Their devastation is severe and too many deaths, two too many this time...

Just last night on the local news again we have been told about the bacteria in the warm Gulf of Mexico water! Causing all shellfish to be served cooked by some method and do not swim with any cuts!
Good rules to follow anyhow.

I will keep plugging and speaking highly of the nice parts of our area and total state, including sunrises and sunsets that can't be beat!

On that more pleasant note allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly count all your blessings and share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Well, I got one appointment firmed up...

The long-distance neuro, as he shall be noted as, to us is, due to the trip to see him; that will be early next month,it is a ninety-four mile round trip!
Easy peasy; I hear most of you all saying, hmm? It's been  a while since either of us traveled that distance, although we both have had long driving trips in our past experiences, jobs.

Hubby while in college was a NY/NJ cabbie to help pay his way, and decades later, I was a district manager in Florida with five stores, in five counties, which caused me to have to drive three thousand miles a month!

It's just these last few years that we have maintained our ten mile radius with all we need within it; so why venture further? (Anyway, actually, Hubby recently clocked the true mileage and it is a bit more in reality.)
Shopping and entertainment as well as hobbies, etc, plenty to do, and even doctors and hospitals, really!

Sometimes we have to, yep just have to leave our tight little area of our newest normalcy.
Over the years even before moving permanently here in 1986 we had been to nearly every area of this state from each coast and to all places of interest and some of not much interest, ha!
So we even have been to where this long-distance doc is many times over, during many decades, since the boys were babies, in the 1970's! My first Florida visit was the winter of '57-58' and then again '67.
Sarasota is one of many lovely cities in our state, nothing to say bad about it and  that is where we  will be going to see this newest doc for me.
I have a mid-afternoon appointment and so perhaps it might make sightseeing to their many neat places to go difficult, or maybe not, we will see...
Or maybe if I don't feel too bad in the future we might take some side-trips, lotsa to do there: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g34618-Activities-Sarasota_Florida.html
Google any city besides the usual ones that you were for all those amusement parks; almost every city has something fun to do here!
Sure, all over this state!
We all need to work on that "happy feeling," true? Life can be depressing...
It's as important as laughter to help you feel better, I do believe strongly in that.

So on that note of finding joy, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night, I started writing a happy birthday, oops! Any-who, have one of those too if it applies, even if not, ha...and kindly count all your blessings and share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

Eureka!

And I don't mean the vacuum with that same name; what I think I have is my new neuro, okay we have all been through this before... i.e. me and my "new neuro", and to that I say ha! Only time will tell...
This one is a ways away, but is a specialist in Multiple Sclerosis, so much so that he, the fiftyish physician, has been a lecturer on the topic! I am in the process of making an appointment.
Yes, the trip to see him will be many times over our usual mileage.

My other found item was my missing $505.45!
Today I remembered  that I hadn't paid by check or online from my bank account, but on my credit card to expedite the payment that was made on 12/30/13!
I found the proof online on my credit card bill!
That is why I did not see it, since when anyone, including me, pays their credit card bill it is a lump sum for all charged items!
And January was dismissed, since I did not use the insurance that month anyway, and so the new insurance coverage did start February 1st that is why the January payment of $505.45 plus the same for February were applied with the additional monies of $112.12 for March, making those two payments also totaling $561.51, and then April, May, and June have all been paid by me in the exact amount of $561.51 of the new premium!
So for me to pay that elusive $340.43 was NOT correct! Oops, if all of you recall that when I could not find that third $505.45 payment I paid the $340.43 through my online bill pay of my bank.
And right now I am just waiting for Florida Blue's billing department to get back to me, Kecia, is the young woman who promised it would be before close today.

So now waiting is what I have to do...
Never easy for someone like me.

As of today I still have not heard back from the ENT's office, another long wait process.
Oddly enough I called a more local neuro and I had asked if he took care of MS patients and they said no to try Dr. so and so...  it was my female doc before this last older male one!
It made me laugh after and I just said thank you and hung up, since she really mainly handles Alzheimer's patients and I had to update her about multiple sclerosis regularly! Although, I must admit she did get me on the Copaxone and that was good, but she is also the one who told me my right eye wasn't worth fixing and even now I see better blurry than without any sight practically at all, but just a little bit of light then!
And that process is still on going, medication wise for righty eye! I go back to my eye doc in a little over a week.

Hope that was totally clear, huh?

Any-who, that's my life minus going into details with my weird health issues of late, one red cheek, yes my right one on my face!
And stomach and head pain that are being somewhat helped by using ice packs, would you believe?
Who knows...all I know I am now sleeping as of last night with head iced?
Our air-conditioning works fine and is nightly lowered, my head hurts though and the ice pack seems to help!

Enough already!

Allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

PS Our friends in all those countries at war; hear me now... STOP THE KILLINGS PLEASE!
YOU DO HAVE THE POWER! WE ARE ALL CRYING FOR THE LOSS OF LIVES! PLEASE STOP!

Daddy's Day!

Why not?
Most children's first words are "Da, Da", and from there Daddy and later on Dad, honestly can any of you remember when you actually used the rarely ever used and somewhat pretentious moniker when speaking of  the guy that is the parental portion of your life, "Father"?
I suppose many of you Ivy League types may have, at times, when wanting something from them had used the term,"Father", hmm?
But the majority of us real folks call the male counterpart of the matrimonial duo or two of the men or living together or apart that biologically or adopted or fostered, or had a surrogate produce you that handed you over to the man or men those people would be called?

Mostly, I would think "DAD"!
Its warm its tender its regular its kind its considerate its funny its firm its loving; and I  could continue for hours in this vein of knowing that when anyone who loves/loved that special person in their lives can know how perfect a description that those simple palindrome letters spell out of, DAD!

With this claim of mine, I now proclaim forever more for this day to now be called for now and forever
Dad Day for us mature folks or Daddy's Day for the younger set, 18 and under, alrighty now?

Now go on and enjoy your festivities, go on...
So I will bid all of you lucky enough to have those Dads still with you and for us not as lucky to have them physically here, but have them always in our heads and hearts we are enjoying all those fond memories that nothing can ever steal from us and thought of those happy times are there to access whenever all year long...

Moving on...NOW!
Pray for all wars to stop... for no one, in my opinion, ever truly wins!
Stop the madness!

I don't get it!

"cognition /cog·ni·tion/ (kog-nish´un) that operation of the mind process by which we become aware of objects of thought and perception, including all aspects of perceiving, thinking, and remembering.cog´nitive

cog·ni·tion (kg-nshn)
n.
The mental faculty of knowing, which includes perceiving, recognizing, conceiving, judging, reasoning, and imagining."

I'm just not getting  it!
Any of you kids remember Gracie Allen from the Burns and Allen comedy team?
"Burns and Allen, an American comedy duo consisting of George Burns and his wife, Gracie Allen, worked together as a comedy team in vaudeville, films, radio and television and achieved great success over four decades."

Well, Gracie's shtick was her not understanding what George was saying or so us attentive audience members thought, and she would respond to his questions with off the wall answers and we would all laugh, thinking that this woman just didn't get it, but in reality she more than got it but only in a different direction of understanding! It was laughter that was side splitting and extremely brilliant, clean fun! (It was said that she was the brains of the duo and wrote most of their material, although George was just being a loving husband, I think, because he lived until a hundred and many years after Gracie had passed on and he performed nearly till the day he died just as brilliantly!)
Sadly, today many would think she had dementia or cognitive deficits and who knows if any of us have our wiring that off that we are not just coming up with different answers, but also the right ones, huh?
I guess there is more to it.
Today Hubby and I went to Fishville for an event that seemed to not materialize, any-who after Hubby and I had a bit of a spat and so he decided we wouldn't go to our second destination to get his and I quote, "nut covers", and he kept saying it to me, and for some reason I not only didn't get what the heck he was talking about; I didn't say it, but I thought it was an odd practice to have something of that nature and why would any man want such a thing, really?
He kept repeating it until I said that he was being mean not explaining to me what he actually meant!
Then he said the two magic words and I understood!
"Tucker's Grade"!
Yep,the location of the hubcap and lug nut store, further south from Fishville, he  had said we would stop by there to replace the missing one on our right rear wheel of our car the next time we were going to Fisherman's Village!
I forgot on the way home.
Can anyone, but me understand the confusion? No?
I hate this alone feeling.
Another issue is a sum of $340.43, a bill from Florida Blue, received today.
Previously when we discussed this amount, it was, I thought a discounted amount for this month's usual of $561.51, I argued for the higher amount being what I owed and so I paid it ten days ago and they received it on 6-11-14!
Then why this bill today?
I checked my Microsoft Money and bank that I had paid then from my previous Select, not Options, when my premium was $505.45 two times, but one had to be a stopped payment since they had said that they had not received it and so I wrote a personal check and mailed it after the other amount was put back into our account. When I switched to Options they then just charged me the difference of $112.12 that covered me now just from February on the new insurance Options, and now we were even or so I thought until this elusive $340.43 showed up earlier this month. It says that $221.08 had been paid by me by check! Never happened I said.
And to this day I cannot find anything in all my records of that amount paid to them in Microsoft or the bank even!
No one was in to discuss this with today, but after trying hard to locate my previous $505.45 check payment online at the bank and in my Microsoft Money, I had no luck, and so I paid $340.43 online today!

Did I give up, or did I seriously believe that I goofed?
Right now I don't know...
All I know is that I keep such great records that I pride myself for being to the penny with our bank always, even now!

Perhaps, I am a gonner in the cognitive ability wars... I don't know, but it does scare me more than many other things...going blind and not being able to walk at all are also on that list...

On that note of whose hope is it anyway, oh to be clever like Gracie, just wish that wishing did make it so... anyway, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly count all your blessings and share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

A full moon with a Friday the thirteenth!

Whatever could this mean?
To most of the non-superstitious folks it means not a thing, but to those with fear of those two occurrences, once this day passes without any major issues, you/I can all take a deep breath until it happens again on August 13, 2049!

Interestingly that the date of August 13th 2049 will be the forty-fifth anniversary of our own personal etched in our brains, nightmare of a bad experience, of Hurricane Charley that destroyed our home with us in it, also a Friday!
The good and bad news is Hubby by then will be nearly 100 and I will be 99.

And now you know why it's bad and good, if we are lucky enough to reach those milestones we will be 100 and 99, get it and will probably have difficulty remembering to look up at the full moon and not able to get out too much to be concerned with anything on the thirteenth of any danger; the whole fearful concept will be lost on us, lacking the excitement factor; or perhaps the yawn one for most, us too by then?

So breathe friends, I know in many places the day is NOT over yet, but hold on...you and I will remain here there or wherever you/I are, okay? Time for another deep breathe, you/I can do this...
Please keep your eyes open if driving and stop the deep breathing; BUT NOT THE BREATHING!!!!

Remember I am with you in spirit and with moral support via your techno device, as a somewhat a mutual believer in this craziness that is that it could or might be or possibly could be detrimental to all of us sensitive to this baloney souls!

Ya know, writing it and seeing what I just wrote makes me realize that this unwarranted concern is by some standards just a lot of hooey, but since we mostly, that is the ones who read this... live in the land of the free and the home of the brave, you/me have the power to feel however we want that is scared or BRAVE!

On that note of a profound understanding of the human psyche, not really, but allow me anyway to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages and we will too!

And next time please be hear or be square, ya hear?

PS I called my Primary Doc, Dr. Nord and Cindy from her office asked her for me if she could send the ENT a referral and she did! Hopefully, by next week I should have an appointment.

Speaking My Mind: Interesting familiar diagnosis for one and horrifi...

Speaking My Mind: Interesting familiar diagnosis for one and horrifi... :   But these are MINE! Not Hubby's! What he has is not contagio...
