Spent a bit of my day chatting it up with...

My new MS group that I joined a few days ago.
So far they appear to be what one would expect a bunch of people from all over the world discussing new medical advances and issues with their symptoms etc. and positive ideas and sayings from the net, but no hidden monetary agendas and no one persons dominating the discussions.

It says that they're 7,113 members, I suppose that I was the one that made those last digits of 13.
Should I be concerned or superstitious?

Nah, but it does appear that they have many of the same concerns of any of us with MS.

One of the first posts I read a couple of days ago was quite controversial.
It had to do with a women with Multiple Sclerosis who had committed suicide.
Very sad, and she felt that she didn't want to be a burden and had no one to turn to.
Any of us with this disease think of that, since there will be a point when I personally know that I will be able to do very little for myself, not to mention to do anything for Hubby.
But no, I would never leave that legacy for my family, for I truly believe it can become hereditary...suicide that is...

Wait, listen... one of my Dad's partners, which they were four of them altogether, his cousin, in business had committed suicide when I was a child in the 1960's and he also had a young daughter at that time, years later she also committed suicide. This is the number for the suicide hotline:
1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433) Deaf Hotline: 1-800-799-4TTY (1-800-799-4889)

Most suicidal people I think forget that it is more than just them that are suffering when they chose to do this final act.
They forget that they will be leaving loved ones behind!
Oh, I don't know but to me it does seem like a selfish act.

My parents I think about whenever anyone complains about taking care of helpless ill people or elderly parents. I tell them I am jealous, since I never had my elderly parents around to complain about; they both died when I was in my thirties, back in 1982 and 1986.
Of course I would have loved for them to have had long healthy lives not being ill at all, but if they were I would have had to care for them, and I definitely would have! (Who knows if I would have complained too; who am I kidding, it's me, of course I would have!)

I know it's silly to think about all of this now...
But I do think whenever anyone has a chronic illness with a prognosis of getting worse not better... well, one can only imagine, true?
Oh poo, I really didn't want to go there after last night's oddity of a blog, which, by the way, was quite successful!

Some things in life are taboo to discuss in many cultures, but I must admit that article that was posted did open the discussion and many, sadly believed she did the right thing... I only hope that my words may have made some think of fighting like many of us do... MS may SUCK, but we fight for a cure daily, since we are not only our MS we are warriors, fighting a battle daily for a good cause to survive one day at a time...

Why I was called just yesterday about replacing my daily Copaxone 20 MG. injections, seven days a week with a new Copaxone 40MG. that is only injected three times a week! I said sign me up; it was just FDA approved on 1-28-14! How quickly it is getting to the market place, and YAY to that!

On that note of some more hope, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know who and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

How ya doing?

Gosh, it's gotta be ages since I asked, really sorry about that!
Ya know I have been selfish, self involved and this thingy makes it difficult to make it a two way street with catching up, truly.

You would think with how far we have come with most everything else that somehow this too could and should be interactive, sort of like IM is, you know "instant messaging", where misunderstandings are handed out in Nano seconds? Ha. Oh that's right... Or is it really getting back to basics with old chums?

Now where were we?
You look great, if you don't mind me saying.
Are you working out? You look buff. (Can't see a thing; playing along.)
I can tell by your coyness that I hit it right on target.
When's the last time you saw so and so?
But you remember that indiscriminate person that we both abhor; yep didn't they throw you under the bus that time with that important contract you were so looking forward to that commission on? Sore point, oops forgive me. I am what I am... BAD ME!
Geez, that was tough, sure they did it to couple of others too, so I was told.

That's okay I can see that you have long recovered.

How's the family?
Gosh, in those pictures I can't seem to see too well from here but they all look wonderful though.
The children have grown; bet they are really giving their parents a run for their money, hmm? And they're ready for college, hmm? I can sort see, not really, from that grin that once again I am right.

Life is going so well for you and yours and that makes me oh so happy for all of you.
This is great catching up like this... really we should do this more often.
I am so delighted that we had this time together… Let’s try and do this again… Oh, no time?
...
Sure I understand, yes, it is difficult to do with all we both have going on…
See ya.

Not me really…
I have too much time on my hands…

Remember to drop by the shut-ins, no matter how grumpy, could be from lack of socializing.
The elderly are not the only ones who need contact with people.
On that PSA, Public Service Message, for all who miss life due to situations beyond their control, be there please,…and on that note, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and I will also ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know who and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

My Physical Therapist has just left...

It's interesting that each time she has gone overtime with her visits.
She arrives on time at four P.M.

Last night and this morning I had a new occurrence with my right thigh having a torqueing sensation with tremendous pain and burning as well, horrendous!
The only relief was lying flat in bed.
After a while though with heat and relaxation it subsided, both times. According to PT Mary
I did the right thing, besides it worked, duh...I guess it did!

During exercises, while lying on the bed, with PT I began to go into spasms and simple stretches with breathing helped me recover my composure.

Today I also had the ultrasound procedure, as well as our TENS machine, which is still on me now.

She actually wrote with indelible marker on my back for placement of the electrodes for the TENS so Hubby will be able to pinpoint the locations next time.

The regular pen didn't work since my bath and body soap that I use for extra moisturizing apparently makes me oh so smooth, so a normal pen's ink just slid right off my skin! It's good to know it's working, ha!

Any-who, I am pooped and so this will be a shorty for tonight.

So on that note of progress allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know who and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Thinking about my future exploits..

And planning my escape!

When you can sit upright the world is your oyster, huh?
In the respect as the expression goes the world opens up to you, get it? Like an oyster would if prodded.
Well, and in the fact that you can gain entry to automobile seats and computer chairs and even your own wheelchair; talk about upward mobility, ha!

Yes, I will once again be able to leave my sanctuary that is quite lovely, but you all know about cabin fever, right?

And I am more than sure that my northern friends due to horrendous snowy frozen storms of blizzard quality do and that usually means that you have to hunker down in place, at home.

At first with family, hot soup and your favorite movies with a fire in the fireplace, setting off a warm glow all is more than wonderful. Then all of a sudden that group of people that you know that you will love until the bitter end starts working on your last nerve...and the fact that you have been the designated wood collector from the outside freeze your butt off location out that back door to the woodpile and no one else is willing to face the harsh reality of why we have been locked in with these people who are soon becoming strangers; who are these crazy wackos? The power went out two days ago and no one has been able to recharge any of their personal techno entertainment systems and the little ones are whining that board games are boring! Food supplies are dwindling and the fire's previous warm glow is crumbling into ash and begging for you to feed it more wood, more wood! That's when CABIN FEVER sets in, and boo you get it when I say imagine that you have not been out of your abode for months, not days.

Although, I am minus all those people, its just Hubby and me, and yes we do get on each others nerves too on occasion, he can go out side or to the store and everything is not so bad anymore! I'm talking silly things that get blown up out of proportion not the important stuff. And in this is the first home in fifteen years that has no fireplace, three of our five previous homes had them... and our weather is in the mid eighties not freezing and our pantry, frig and freezer are all full, you still can get CABIN FEVER!

And within the next three weeks I will be escaping this place aided and abated by Hubby, I should be sitting pretty and that calls for a gargantuan YAY!

Stay warm and calm friends and know you are thought of often...and fondly!
On that note of wishes for warmth and peace and harmony for all, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly count all your blessings and share all those overages with you know who and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

PS this laptop thingy I have been using acts as if it has a mind of its own and sadly it posts my blogs, at times, before I have completed them and so I have had to reel it back in and delete the unruly posts and repost when all is said and done, now that feels so much better... I should have told you all weeks ago, and WHEW; so now you all know!

And so its begun...

Oh what fun!

The nurse arrived between eleven and eleven thirty A.M. this late morning and did her evaluation and asked us if the physical therapist could come this afternoon at four P.M. and so Mary had Mary notified to start this afternoon.

I have been told that I have been approved for six in home visits, out of the twenty that I was told my wrong coverage was on my policy without any copay what-so-ever?
So why only six, even Mary said best not to use them all up. She looked at my copy of my lumbar MRI and being a veteran of back surgery herself said that instead of going to an orthopedic doctor for all my back problems I would be better off with a neurosurgeon. Her feelings were logical with all those nerves so close to my bulges and herniation and having stenosis and spondylosis and severe degeneration.
She will be using an ultrasound and our own TENS machine on me when she returns Thursday. Gentle stretching and no twisting or lifting ever!

Apparently, I will be eventually able to sit, and walk better when all is said and done, and yay!

So now Mary that is PT Mary will be coming back twice a week.

My new insurance should go into affect within ten days I have been called and told just today, another yay!

Moving on...
Yesterday, was a near heart attack day I received a refund check, not for our taxes but from Express Scripts for $2000!
Yea, I was shocked and could think of no logical reason for it, except all the aggravation they caused me, but no,
I did not sue them, ha!
But Miss Epitome Of Honesty felt it had to be a mistake or some other joke and so I called them to verify that I indeed deserve this surprise from the money gods... And the call was just as wild, the fellow I spoke to Rob, absolutely verified that the check was good and should be put into my bank. But he had to call me back to tell me the details of the why and that would take a few days, two or three.

Meanwhile, thankfully we don't need that "gift", to make ends meet or pay bills. We already took care of our taxes and even though we decided for the heck of it to itemized this year, and with our out of pocket medical expenses being $13,400 including premium costs and half the year of Hubby's new smile bill, and our mortgage interest was nearly two thousand this year that we had all the documentation for, again we are not having to pay but we don't get anything back either... ahhh retirement; for these last seven and half years have been a tax easement!

When you have little, or should I say just enough, simplicity is wonderful! The online H&R Block that we have been using all these years was again a freebie too!

On that note on updates, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and if you would kindly count all your blessings and share all those overages with you know who and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Speaking from the heart

Impossible!

Must we as human beings expect other body parts to step in to do the work of ones that should do what they were made for to do for themselves?

Speaking is a process that needs our larynx reverberation, aided by proper breathing via the diaphragm to make sounds to be pushed up through our mouths for all of us to hear! No hearts are harmed or used at all in the method of vocal communication; i.e. except for beating so all the named parts can do their work...specified.

I'm WRONG; so you say? This one is a metaphor for speaking with emotion!
No different body parts are used to partake; only the usual?

Now it makes a lot of sense and at times I really know I have done this. Yes, I too have been known to SPEAK FROM MY HEART!

I say that I speak my mind, but the mind and heart and emotion all work together, correct?
There you go. The proof is in these nightly essays, they tell the tale of my heart's desires and what not, true?
Yes, that means what not to do that I do, do.
It is a touchy thingy speaking from one's heart since it totally exposes what’s in you, your innards, ya know?
One must be brave, nearly fearless to let that kind of sentiment be visible to public scrutiny, vulnerable.
We all know that being that exposed is allowing for others to critique you.
Many thankfully are too polite, though, to comment.
Passion is what comes from the heart in showing those feelings and tis the season to commit to that special someone and a great way to begin is to speak your inner thoughts about them from your heart!
Full circle, you see, I bet none were thinking that I would be making a point, hmm?
Well, much to your surprise I did! (MINE TOO, oh well.).
Love is in the air and care to make that special someone be aware… that you’re their love affair.
Author’s disclaimer: As long as you’re both single that is.
On that note of love what you say and say what you love and allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings to share all those overages with you know who and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

"Throwing the baby out with the bath water."

Is an idiom that this idiot (it sounded okay at the time, oops sorry; not one, just a wee bit not too smart and the two are just one letter off, hmm? Fascinating really.)And I have found it quite useful and I have used it quite often. It is explained wholly below for anyone who might live under a rock or is way too young to have heard it used in their recent lifetime.

"Throwing the baby out with the bath water" is an expression that implies that an entire idea, concept, practice or project doesn't need to be rejected or discontinued if part of it is good. The baby, in this sense, represents the good part that can be preserved. The bath water, on the other hand, usually is dirty after the baby is washed and needs to be discarded, just like the parts of the concept that are bad or useless.

Origins of the Phrase

There are many ideas on the possible origins of this expression. Many people incorrectly attribute the expression to English or Irish origin. The phrase was first recorded in 1512, and used by a German writer, Thomas Murner, in his verse book, Die Narrenbeschworung. From Germany, the expression became commonly used in the United Kingdom and then in France."

Thanks to: http://www.wisegeek.org/what-does-throwing-the-baby-out-with-the-bath-water-mean.htm

My point is that over the many years that I have been on this planet I have heard too many people condemn too many companies, such as BIG PHARM, and conventional medical practices and one day this thingy is healthy for you and the next day that thingy isn't healthy for you, and we all know in our heart of hearts that many things should be "taken with a grain of salt", another well placed idiom, hmm? Or trading non tested methods for a better way, or people confused getting rid of any and all possibilities due to their confusion, ya know?

Thanks to the below site and info: http://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/take+with+a+grain+of+salt

"take something with a grain of salt,
to consider something to be not completely true or right I've read the article, which I take with a grain of salt.
Related vocabulary: hard to swallow
Etymology: based on the idea that food tastes better and is easier to swallow if you add a little salt"
Life is difficult enough without disbelieving everything that we are told, but as we all know erring on the side of caution and using your abilities to search for the truth is always a job well done, for you and yours... I can hear the world saying a very practical concept, everything in moderation, but of course not poison!

Scary what we hear on the nightly news, about food products, our water/air supplies and medication that can literally kill you!
So, don't be foolish, be aware and find out everything you can. We are all techno obsessed, so no reason not to know, and yes, when it comes to the media they do make BIG mistakes, but it is always better for us consumers of their product to err on the side of caution, even if the next day they retract that statement!
Diligence is a given.
Moving on…
“Passionate, sweet, dramatic, eloquent!
Oddly enough those were the first four words I saw on one of those charts with jumbled words on it, and supposedly those are the ones that the publisher of such chart says describe you. In this case me… You see, now this is a perfect example of why we should “take things with a grain of salt”, but it was fun to do just the same! And the person who put the chart up seems to agree, since she keeps saying how lovely! But we all know it was way off!

The other things I did today was answer six questions that was to determine my mental age, and it came up with 32,; how very flattering. Since that is nearly half my real age!
Another, fine example of a grain of salt… Boy this could all raise my blood pressure!

On that note of the ridiculous, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and to ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know who and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

PS there was a time that I would have been considered passionate, although today I am on some topics that get my blood boiling, see not all passion has to do with sexy stuff, although that’s very nice too…
Being sweet, gave me the feeling of not being honest, since too sweet in some situation, to me IS being saccharine, which for many, if not familiar, that is an artificial sweetener!
Now dramatic, was the better part of my teen years, although, some days, these days many might think of me that way, but only due to my passionate beliefs! LOL!
Being of the mindset of using this medium for self expression, and at times not finding I meet the clarity of description to explain what I want to come across to my readership… I so wish that I was able to be as eloquent as the masters was. Albeit, to be fair, if I spoke in many of their powerful fluent verbiage, some may still not understand from whence my point is coming from, huh?

Speaking My Mind: Interesting familiar diagnosis for one and horrifi...

Speaking My Mind: Interesting familiar diagnosis for one and horrifi... :   But these are MINE! Not Hubby's! What he has is not contagio...
