As we grow together; we don't grow together, but not apart...

Now that I totally confused you, I thought I would try harder than ever before to explain myself, ha, but here I go… i.e. in what that title meant.
Hubby and I have been together now for, Gosh, since August of 1967 when we first met, but only have been married since February of 1971.
And in many marriages of long endurance you ebb and flow into similar patterns and similar ills…
Although, Hubby’s is more genetic, his high blood pressure that is, his mom and brother both have it and mine is more weight gain related, we are both on medication for it.
His was found out the hard way, with a visit, back in 2009, to the hospital with concern he was having a heart attack, fortunately, that was not the case, but his blood pressure was extremely high. The next day he went to the doctor’s office to get put on proper medications and to set up all the tests needed to rule out other problems. His medication was much like mine, in fact a couple were identical, but since his problem was more severe he had two additional ones that are different and his dosage is four times a day, compared to my two times a day for that particular problem. We are both on the same cholesterol medication and dosage.
Today, Hubby almost forgot to take his one dose at 12:15 P.M., which he has been diligent in taking all these years, and asked me why he felt no different without it.
There is something you gotta know about Hubby, he like many men if he hadn’t had to go by ambulance that May day in 2009 to the hospital we would still not know what was going on, since he hated doctors and never ever wanted to go to one for any reason what’s so ever. And the last time before that one was when he was injured on the job way back in 2005, also a hospital issue.
He thought, since he felt fine that maybe he could ask to lower his dose or not take it as often or anymore… well, I said it takes a while to get out of your system and in fact it was still in it.
He did take it, but in reality with his blood pressure so good now and in check, he shouldn’t, in my opinion, change things. I subscribe to the adage “if its not broke don’t fix it”.
But if he does go to the doctor he should discuss it with him and perhaps they could wean him to a lower dose? It took quite a while to find what worked for him, months.
Now the problem is to get him to go back to the doctor… He knows it has to be soon though, since his medication is going to need refills soon. And Humana sent him his new card a couple of weeks ago, yep already! Remember he was with Universal Health Care that went under?
In the interim Medicare sent him all their information, but nothing as good as the insurance companies’ coverage, even the deductibles with them on office visits surgeries and medication etc; and all for only $104 a month.
I am so looking forward to my days of coverage like that!
Happy that our income has nothing to do with those future increases for the higher income brackets, but still even for them forty or fifty bucks a month more is not too bad when your income is 20K to 40K higher on up than ours.
As a wife, I will be happier when he makes his appointment, and no, he doesn’t make mine and I don’t make his. It’s not like I would mind, but he would and so I respect him and trust that he will. What else have I got?
Nagging never works with Hubbys or kids.
And so trust and hoping and praying that they do what they are supposed to do when at that certain age of accountability is all any woman has…

On that note of it is what it is… allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all those overages with whomever you know needs them and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?!

In other news...

I just felt like saying that!

Have you ever thought at a certain time in your life that you would have been something different than what you were?

Over the many years that I did work I did do many different things and to be truthful most all of them I did enjoy.

There is an expression, “find something you love to do and you’ll never work again!”

Actually, I have had that sensation a couple of times in my life.

But if I had my druthers, perhaps being an on air news anchor would have been another joy added to my somewhat diverse resume.

Or an actor, since actress I recently found out is no longer used and is considered, sexist or some such new PC incorrect verbiage?

Of course being a girl I would think in my head, ‘actress’, but since no longer in favor, I would say to my public, ‘ACTOR’, but of course darling…ha!

Oh well, I suppose I would have had more fun at that career choice if I had lived during the thirties or forties, ya know?

In the days when movie stars were considered to be on pedestals, basically untouchable, and had that ‘mystique’ about them.

Of course, I have no idea what it was really like since I was born decades after all that… but I have seen the movies from that Golden Era. For more great info on that era, try this site: http://www.filmsite.org/30sintro.html

Slap me silly!

Let’s get back to reality, oh pooh...

Any-who, imagination has a lot to do with the creative side in most people and by Gosh I got one heck of one of those, and so writing stories is another aspect of my desires and I have in the past shown to have that aptitude!

The best part about writing is that no matter how old you are you can still do that.

Although, with failing faculties; perhaps I better hurry.

Most people know what they want as youngsters, many don’t really.

Over these many years I have noticed one thing, getting stuck in one job/ career is no longer an option like it once was. The economy slammed that thirty year, gold watch concept from most realists’ minds.

But good news, you can find what you love to do and do it! And if you don’t like one thing, just try something else…

Entrepreneurships have been seeing all time resurgence.

Been there, done that, three times.

Worked in so many different fields that some might try to call me flighty, but I like to think that I enjoy trying new things.

See, changing our minds is now considered a plus; it means that you are flexible. (Get your minds out of the gutter!)

Sure, we all know in our heart of hearts that we need income to support that obsession called your family, ha!

I bet you thought I was going to say something like clothing expenditures.

Nah, I’m a realist too.

I heard tell that some people have stopped looking and others are working two or three jobs to make ends meet, remarkable!

And others take early retirement. The bottom line is that we all have to do what is best for us, and no one can decide for you.

As a people on this planet of all of my kind, human beings that is… I want you all to know that I am in your corner on any choices that you make, as long as you are not doing anything to hurt anyone else, including yourself and it’s not illegal or weird, ya know what I mean… Aw shucks, be happy, be careful and chose wisely to love the world and hope it loves you back and if it doesn’t… take a nap and maybe that will change too? Who knows, stranger things have happened!

On that note of a bit of ridiculousness, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?!

PS: Try smiling, it’s free and I found it to be quite contagious, but in a good way.

MS brain, Fibro-fog and other signs that our minds are not...

Where we left them!
Words elude me when I least expect them to, or I can’t get the correct one out, and I do believe that at times my mind wanders and I become confused…
As frustrating and age related as many may say that is, it can be, but this is NOT caused by that!
I know, how does one tell the difference? And how do they know its not dementia or early onset Alzheimer’s?
Got me.
No, really I do think that many a doctors now know the difference and can tell you if it caused by your chronic ills side effect or some form of dementia or that you can crack it up to becoming getting older.
And to the extent of the issue to has a smidge of a difference too.

“Brain fog refers to the effect multiple sclerosis has on a person's ability to think clearly.
Generally, it refers to the way processing of information becomes interrupted and slowed as a result of cognitive dysfunction caused by multiple sclerosis, although it can really mean any of the range of cognitive deficits which can be caused by multiple sclerosis.
More specifically, 'brain fog' refers to a type of clouded thinking where the mind itself, the part which is used to accomplish tasks, becomes clouded, as if there is a type of 'mental cataract' obscuring 'internal' vision.”

“Fibro fog – also known as fibromyalgia fog and brain fog – is a term commonly used for the cognitive difficulties that can occur with fibromyalgia. These include confusion, lapses in memory, word mix-ups and difficulty concentrating.
The cause of fibromyalgia fog has been the subject of several studies and much speculation. One of the most popular theories about fibro fog has been that these problems are caused by sleep deprivation and/or depression, but one study found that neither poor sleep nor depression seemed related to cognitive performance.
Brain scan studies have shown that from time to time, people with fibromyalgia do not receive enough oxygen in different parts of their brain. One possible reason is that part of their nervous system is off-kilter, causing changes in the brain’s blood vessels.
Additional research – though not on fibromyalgia specifically – shows that chronic pain itself may affect the brain. A technology called functional MRI found that in people with chronic pain, a front region of the brain mostly associated with emotion is constantly active. The affected areas fail to “shut off” when they should, wearing out neurons and disturbing the balance of the brain as a whole.”

I am so glad we have this time together, but if my mind gets too bad, there may be a day when I will no longer be able, literally, to do this.
And so while I still can, I will, but please all you English majors, teachers, secretaries, authors, legit writers, etc out there be kind to me with all these nightly mistakes… I do try! And I have been told that I am very trying! By Hubby, some days…most…

On that note of a bit of light away from the darkness, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share those overages with everyone whom you know needs it, and we will too!

And next time, please be here or be square, ya hear!?

PS and that is why I do show a lot of pictures when I can, since we all know that a picture is worth a thousand words and they fill the space and time continuum, right?

3:07 A.M.

When pain awakes you in the form of a severe headache and neck ache, topped off with explosions and gunfire, you sit up and pay attention; that is to what the heck the explosions and gunfire are all about!
Yep, fell asleep with the TV on again and this time what awoke me held my interest, but the time stamped in the corner made me think it was just fine to get up anyway…it said 3:57 and the reporter was saying that it came in an hour ago… Okay, five ain’t too bad with this noggin alarming me to get that neck brace on and coffee installed into my body to heal this brain wavering, ringing, a dinging- ing!
Only problem was… that was a replay of the earlier, evening one, at 3:57 P.M. news byte, not 3:57 A.M. and an hour ago this morning…oh well, java was poured and so I stuck it in the microwave for zapping and resigned myself to the fact that my day had begun at 3:07 A.M.!
Hard to go back to sleep especially after sipping at your brain relaxer oral medication of caffeine, and in reality I didn’t want to since I have a curious mind and we with those need to know what the heck was going on… And as all do know that the one suspect had been killed in a fire fight after he and his brother robbed a 7 Eleven and killed an MIT campus police officer and within that fire fight the elder 26 year old brother was killed and another police officer was shot and had to have emergency surgery. One million people in the greater Boston area have been on lock down since the whole night began basically and day they have been trying hard to locate the younger brother, the 19 year old, and any other bombs or people involved in this whole terrorist plot that appears to be growing as time marches on...according to the law enforcement agencies.
As of tonight’s writing the city and surrounding towns are entering their nineteenth hour of shutdown, with specific interest in a Watertown neighborhood.
No resolve has become of it all as of yet.
The father says they were framed the uncle calls them losers and their old school friends and coach think they were very nice young men and are shocked.
Law enforcement officials and family members had identified them as Dzhokhar, 19, and Tamerlan, 26, Tsarnaev, ethnic Chechen brothers who had lived in Dagestan in southern Russia. They had been in the U.S. for about a decade and lived near Boston.
So many questions and no answers yet…
Just in: the lock down of the area has been lifted.
But they should remain vigilant.
Later in the day my left eye misbehaved to the point of severe pain and a bit blurry, but both symptoms came and went, so to the eye doc I was whisked away to and he found that my eye was working just fine, i.e. lefty, except for a couple of eyelashes stuck in my eye that were removed by the tech… GEEZ how embarrassing! But he recommended moving up my neuro appointment it probably isn’t, but might be another bout of Optic Neuritis if the symptoms last longer. I still had both eyes checked thoroughly with dilation and some other drops, eye chart and testing with those weird spectacles affixed to the machine, with the tech questioning/commentary, is this better, or is this better, or is this, this? This makes me want to scream! I give hand signals, not vulgar ones, but not so sure ones and whatever is suggested by the tech, I have learned over the last fifty-five years I have had to go through these insulting to my in- decisiveness on such things as this, is as too close to call, I tend to agree with whatever they say… okay, a wimp, yep, me too sometimes. Over these last, almost three years now, though, I must admit with only one working eye, it is only half as stressful as it used to be!
On that note of not that un-noteworthy, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share those overages with everyone who needs them and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!?

The investigation goes on...

The two Boston Marathon suspects are shown on the link below: go to fbi.gov for more info and films: http://l.yimg.com/nn/fp/rsz/041813/images/smush/suspects_635x250_1366320388.jpg

Hope this helps and doesn’t alert them to take off.

You all know that you were thinking that too, but it is three days since and I do hope that it’s not too late!

We all know from TV and movies that Interpol will be on the look out too.

I imagine that the FBI felt that as a world of open eyes we could be of some help and I sure pray it works.

Cooperation world wide would be incredible.

In other news…

West Texas too has had a disaster of another kind which appears at this point to be a horrendous industrial one, a fertilizer plant blowing up and destroying as many as fifty to seventy-five homes and killing as many as five to fifteen people sending approximately 160 people to area hospitals, more dead could be found. Registered as a 2.1 earthquake due to the explosive nature of the event.

Our prayers go out to them as well.

Moving on with personal news…

Today, I was back at ‘torture land’ to regain what I lost in my misspent youth, nah, went to the rehab to regain a bit of my lost abilities? Sure and yep.

I had the strength to do seven minutes plus of the arm cycling and fifty repetitions on the slant board! YEAH!

Sadly though, due to bodily malfunctioning (translation: parathesia big time in both legs) when dismounting I will not be able to increase my reps for some time…  And so next visit I will pace myself with two sets of twenty-five reps each until the issue of what happen today does not reoccur. But since my arm cycling is not giving me too negative feelings there is where I will try to move up to a ten minute increase…only time will tell!

On those notes of interest I do believe, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with the expansive reality of devastation that is plaguing our land and the world and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?!

Catch up or updates on topics of a personal nature

The world is too upsetting with all that is happening.

And so even though as like you I am tuned to every media concerns for more info…that can let us know anything… for most all items of true interest on the Terror in Boston answers of who, what and why and whatever else that we need to know are all still in the speculative nature and no definitive answers or suspects have been caught. There is a possible suspect from some photos… but no arrests yet.

The new investigative background check gun laws have been blocked sadly.

And we, who felt the sadness of the families of and Sandy Hook’s pain are devastated with that outcome…90% of all of us Americans, wanted it to go forward!

So here I sit with only my own mundane happenings to report on… Yesterday, trying to distract ourselves from the horror that we as all Americans experienced once again we went over to the rehab and I did surprise myself with my ability to do more than last time, with five and half minutes plus five additional seconds on the arms cycle! On the slant board I did a whole bunch, thirty-eight!

Good news, hmm?

As you can tell by this above info is that my collar bone pain must not be that serious, and I suspect by what happened that is the case.

That night I slept fine after all that icing thankfully!

And so that is why I went to the place that stretches you into shape.

Good for me.

Now back to the rest of the world… Our President Obama is giving a speech, on the TV in the next our living-room; about his disappointment about the way the vote went in congresses and their decision, how bad their doing this was when 90% of us want gun legislation. They voted by special interests groups backing them. Senators are more for the conceal weapons being allowed to go across state lines…WHAT ARE THEY CRAZY?! DON’T THEY HAVE TIME TO WATCH THE NIGHTLY NEWS! DO THEY LIVE UNDER ROCKS?!

We, the people can vote them out during the next election since they did not represent our views on this.

They work for us, which again is an understatement, sorry!

Back to the true important life altering stuff…

America is not any less vulnerable than any other country in spite of our next best made efforts to be protective with all major law enforcement officials available.

It appears that there are as many ways to elude detection with as much imagination as evil can come up with to destroy humans who are the most innocent and least likely to know that they are lurking in the bright sunshine!

We as a human race have just got to become more diligent and aware of our surroundings by caring more to be nosy!

As New York tells its people if you see something that doesn’t look right tell someone, simplicity at its finest.

Be cautious and perhaps a wee bit paranoid, especially when or if in crowds.

Try to know your exits and who are the proper authorities to contact in whatever part of the country or world you are in; be your own best support system. And teach your children that sadly that not all people are nice, stranger danger amplified! But tell them that 98% are nice, but it’s just that 2% we have to be careful of…

On that harsh reality of life’s lessons learned, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and to ask you to kindly count all your blessings and to share all your overages with a wider expanse of love to all who now need us to, and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?!

The day aftermath...

Out of 171 hospitalized 41 have been discharged and out of the three killed two have been identified. Most injuries were lower extremity ones, ear percussion ones, as well head injuries. Reconstruction, with rods and etc. as well future skin graphs were being considered and was being done as often as possible, but some lost limbs that could not be saved in life and death situations or at the scene itself; although, seventeen remain in critical condition. More lives were saved than lost though and that is what is of the utmost concern and benefit from all the medical personnel being right on scene.

The boy that died was Martin Richard, an eight year old, his Mom had a severe head injury and his five year old sister lost her leg. Bill Richard, Martin’s father, asks for everyone to continue to prayer for his family while they remember Martin, all from Dorchester Mass. A 29 year old, named Krystle Campbell from Medford Mass. was the second to be identified that died, a restaurant manager. Just in: that a Grad student at Boston College, was the third death due to the explosive devices, name, more than likely to come later tonight…

The explosives were made out of two six liter pressure cookers, installed with ball bearings and nails and simple gunpowder or some such igniter.

There were just the two explosive devices.

No definitive answers have come from the authorities involved; whether it was domestic or international terrorists that caused this horrific happening in Boston at 2:50 P.M. on April 15, 2013 during the 4:09:33 time into the marathon 26 mile race.

Along the final leg of the race of the Boston Marathon, held for 117 years on Patriot’s Day that had always been a happy occasions, 27,000 competitors were involved in the race and it appears that there were more than a half million in attendance as spectators. We send our love and prayers to all the victims and their families, and hope that the answers come swiftly to all the unanswered questions.

It is times like these that we realize, every time they remind us, that all that we hold near and dear can change in an instant and nothing and, no one and no individual day should ever be wasted or taken for granted… COUNT THOSE BLESSINGS FOR US ALL!

And one more suggestion; pray…

Speaking My Mind: Interesting familiar diagnosis for one and horrifi...

Speaking My Mind: Interesting familiar diagnosis for one and horrifi... :   But these are MINE! Not Hubby's! What he has is not contagio...
