Clumsy

Clumsiness is not that new to me.
I have been accused of this social faux pas since childhood.
So at the age of four I was sent to ballet lessons, which I did love and that was enhanced to toe and tap, acrobatics and jazz dance lessens and even a short spurt of ballroom with boys!
I did attend classes for eight solid years and then on and off periodically through my older teens and even until after marriage and having young children, estimated twelve years total when all was said and done.
My idea of fun exercise along with race walking. I had piano and dance recitals with my dance and piano teachers doing both together, they were a lot of fun.

Although, I showed grace while dancing it never corrected my issues with clumsiness.
I also enjoyed figure skating too during the same time period.
And although I could do jumps and spins and backwards and forwards etc. on the ice, my foolish attempts of gaining too extreme heights with split like jumps I proved to have a difficulty with and fell and injured my back so severely on vacation that at one point I could not get out of bed due to my legs not cooperating. Being on vacation and about fifteen at the time I stayed in bed resting until I was better and fortunately I was. I seem to recall my parents calling a doctor to the room and some type of liniment was applied.

Now, recently again with having Multiple Sclerosis I have had good and bad days with my hands dropping things, tripping over things that aren't there and all sorts of fun and exciting never knowing what will happen next type days.
Those I can handle and have for these last nine years since diagnosed, making my clumsiness now have an excuse.
The thing that has been happening too often lately that is disturbing to me and Hubby is me cutting myself, twice this week alone with the same pairing knife!
It's true the first time could be racked up to stupidity, guilty for that too over the years.
Any-who the first cut into my left hand was due to trying to cut into the shrink wrap on my B plus vitamins; would you believe that it happened due to me missing?
And tonight it was my right numb the same thumb I sliced with a mandolin a few years ago, and same hand with this recent dog bite, this time I was just washing that same pairing knife, just washing it really!
I got me good.
But I am also getting good at procedure/protocol, paper towel folded to stop bleeding with extremity raised, then apply polysporin and band aid, done. No antiseptic needed since I was in soapy water.

I don't like this latest cutting problem that is accidental but too often just the same, my hands look like a commercial for band-aids these days.Only good that came from this is that I have been banished from the kitchen and dish washing!

On this note of trying hard to find the upside to even the most outlandish things in life, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you to have a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

THANK YOU!

Dear all who this concerns:

We as a family of the many want you to have the best equipment to keep all of you safe wherever you are in this world as to keep us safe here at home as that end result.
And know that our best wishes for your safety daily is nothing if not enormously felt in our whole souls as a nation.
The desire for you to be well cared for if the unthinkable happens is beyond realistic belief.
And may we all find it in our hearts to help you when those tables turn on you from then being the ones needing our protection and care.
But to realize your potential no matter how it changes for you are the bravest of the brave and to say we appreciate all of you by saying thank you seems like such a small thing, although meant with sincerity.
You are our fine men and women of our armed services past and present and shall never ever be forgotten or ignored.

A love letter from one who hates wars but loves soldiers, all of you!
After all many have been in the family, ours.

Waiting...

...for what one might ask or not?
For Gus.
For Gus for what?
For him to be all done.
Done with what?
His yearly check up of shots and blood work and his periodic grooming and for him to awake from his sedation.
His what?
SEDATION!
Yep all that for a mere $350.
He is not in a very good mood when groomed or touched by medical professionals, thus the gas.
Sweetie pie rescue Havanese baby boy turns into CUJO!
That is unless he is sedated and then very special incorrigible dog-child is manageable.
Being a boy he was filthy by today, how he loves to play in the yard, and especially with our water hoses which causes digging in and play fighting with it and the moistness of the ground makes mud, thus the incredible dirty not so little boy, literally, now twenty-five pounds, gaining eight pounds in these last ten months since we adopted him.
Our Skipper, a Bichon Frise was only fifteen pounds, which is the right size for his breed.
Gus is actually a Havanese mix, mixed with what we are not quite sure, maybe Shih Tzu, but he is big for a Havanese or a Shih Tzu so we have been told, neither account for his size.
To us who previously had Yorkies of three and seven pounds then Skipper at fifteen, he seems enormous!
All I am worrying about now is the fact that he has been there since this morning at ten thirty and it's nearly six.
We called about a half hour ago, and they said they were still working on him?
They are open until seven and said they would call back when he is ready.
And so our dinner is on hold.
Us who eat usually like clockwork, breakfast at nine, lunch at noon, and dinner at five, are waiting for our little guy.

On this note of anticipation and slight concern, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Update just in: Doctor/ groomer office called keeping him overnight due to his sedation, will pick him up first thing in the morning.

In consideration...

...picture this a Ben Carson - "The Donald" Trump or vice versa ticket and an apposing Hillary Clinton - Bernie Sanders or also vice versa, but not  as likely; the vice versa not the possible ticket. A not too shabby competition program, hmm?
My vote would be so much easier to make.

Actually, I don't know why the percentages don't work that way?
I mean in the polls, but of course I know that it works that way for the position of president, but not for whom the running mate should be.
The most popular candidates get the final prize of running, for the big one, meaning the job, oh wait here's the  clarification the leader of the most substantive country in the western hemisphere along with his/her second in command, the vice!
Not with any vices though, hopefully, but the backup position, just in case need be, ya know what I am getting at...

The other issue every four years we have these things is the electoral college that always seems no matter what to make our final decisions. You all know that is a waste of our intellect, since initially the purpose was to make a vote for Americans that weren't quite smart enough to vote(that 's what someone told me, oh no, maybe they meant me!) or probably:

"Why the electoral College

by Marc Schulman
The Electoral College was created for two reasons. The first purpose was to create a buffer between population and the selection of a President. The second as part of the structure of the government that gave extra power to the smaller states.
The first reason that the founders created the Electoral College is hard to understand today. The founding fathers were afraid of direct election to the Presidency. They feared a tyrant could manipulate public opinion and come to power. Hamilton wrote in the Federalist Papers:It was equally desirable, that the immediate election should be made by men most capable of analyzing the qualities adapted to the station, and acting under circumstances favorable to deliberation, and to a judicious combination of all the reasons and inducements which were proper to govern their choice. A small number of persons, selected by their fellow-citizens from the general mass, will be most likely to possess the information and discernment requisite to such complicated investigations. It was also peculiarly desirable to afford as little opportunity as possible to tumult and disorder. This evil was not least to be dreaded in the election of a magistrate, who was to have so important an agency in the administration of the government as the President of the United States. But the precautions which have been so happily concerted in the system under consideration, promise an effectual security against this mischief. "

When push comes to shove the final outcome is decided by it still, that is not to say that we shouldn't vote, we must do that!

Any-who, simplicity has yet to come from this, "presidential running season" that runs longer than any of the others at nearly eighteen months, hurricane season is a mere six, baseball, football, hockey, basketball, soccer, volleyball or any other sporty season you could come up with are much, much shorter, with this proving that perhaps the time has come for this game for title of the highest position in office in this home of the free and brave needs to get its own channel, like ESPN, NFL, etc. and I am more than sure others with those too so why not have them for this as well. Only of course so the true "fans" can tune in 24/7, fair enough I think.
Just another non-requested suggestion, hmm?

Tonight's ideas are out to my friends to mull over and good luck with that, so now allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear !

Trump on SNL, so I heard...

..., actually read, from some it was a safe show, meaning steering away from controversy and others saying it had not, whatever that means.

One critic suggested that if Trump said what he said about Hispanics about Canadians that Lorne Michaels wouldn't have had him on, since he's Canadian.

Larry David's shout out of Trump being a racist was quite controversial, since Trump claims he is not and everyone else thinks he is.

And the fact he, Larry David, mentioned the 5K offer if he did it, that is the shout out of, "racist" at Trump was also a rather interesting truism, or so I thought I read it somewhere.

But we all know Larry doesn't need that 5K, what to him could probably be considered only a bit of pocket change?
Which makes one wonder/consider the probability that he did it because he felt the need to speak the truth, hmm?
The man has been known to do that in his TV writings, true?
Gotta love the guy and his impersonation of Bernie Sanders too!

Truth be told:I almost hate to admit it, but with all the controversy I had wanted to actually see the show, but sadly I fell asleep for most of it; I awoke periodically and did see firsthand the Larry David piece.

Moving on...

Hand update: While showering Friday morning I must have
inadvertently pulled that one stitch out, for when I was about to dry the injury to put the topical antibiotic on I could see it was missing but without any ill affects, so no need for scissors use for self removal or doctor's office visit, Voila!
It is still slightly open, but medicated orally as well as topically, no worries.

On these notes of some significance to somebody, who knows who, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all those overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

If nothing else since the incident...

...that is since the dog bite incident we have been going out periodically and leaving Gus home alone.
He had been the first dog that we hadn't left at home alone, always taking him everywhere with us, that is up until this last time of going to the hospital eight days ago.
Last year with my road rash lip bite we had crated him, but this time we left him all alone with the run of the house.
He has never been destructive when we are there, but I suppose due to his unknown origins we both had a slight fear we were creating a little guy who might have severe separation anxiety, but it never happened, he proved he was trustworthy.
While we have been home most afternoons he has been sleeping anyway.
Dogs do sleep about sixteen hours a day I read somewhere.

So this late morning at eleven a.m. I had a haircut appointment and Hubby and I decided to also go up to North Port for lunch at and inside(with Gus along it would be outside or in our car) the Old World Restaurant that we had not been to before.
I knew about it from our muralist Ginny Robbins who had done our seascape in our dinette back in 2004. She had said that she also had done the ones in that particular restaurant; Gosh it sure took us way too long to check it out, sadly Ginny passed away a few years ago.
Anyway, we went and had a lovely lunch with items chosen from their diverse menu from all cultures.
The prices were moderate, but in line with most all other places.
Foolishly after all that waiting I forgot to take pictures of the many walls decorated by this woman years before ours.
The restaurant has been there since 1988, a long time in this era for an eatery to survive.
The pictures were all tropical in nature, and yes it was all nature with herons of all types, flamingos included, toucans, parrots, macaws etc., floras all tropical, palms, grasses, elephant leaves etc.calming blue, blue waters actually very colorful due to the bevy of beautiful birds surrounding it all.
All in all it was very nice to see.
And to proudly tell the hostess who had been there since they had opened way back then seemed to recall Ginny and we told her about that Ginny Robbins who had also done our mural in our home.
Lunch portions were once again too big, we must learn to share in at home restaurants as we have done while on vacation, but we both can't believe we ate the whole thing, delish! A guilty Reuben for me, and combo pastrami and corned beef for Hubby, with sides of fries and onion rings and Cole slaw, and our iced water and lemons! I cannot truthfully recall the last time I had a Reuben (It was good); I did have skim milk and corn Chex with a banana for breakfast.
Any-who, Hubby was so full and he did not eat supper; I had the last of my homemade tomato soup, just a smidge was left enough for one truly.

On that note of yum, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night, and kindly ask you all to count all your blessings and share all those overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please or be here or be square, ya hear!

Speaking My Mind: Interesting familiar diagnosis for one and horrifi... :   But these are MINE! Not Hubby's! What he has is not contagio...
