Problems come and problems go; such is life as we all know...

Poetry is not something that I do well, but just one of many things that I don’t do well; actually there are way too many to list. But even I have to admit that opener wasn’t half bad… not half good either, kidding, bud dump bum…!

And so I will not bore you with that tedium.
My cue to move on to a more pressing guffaw of mine today!
Owning up to stupidity is supposed to be honorable, hmm?
Oh, alright, not honorable but the right thing to do, correct?
Earlier this afternoon an attractive young woman, statuesque and slender with long dark hair and a very sweet wholesome face came to our front door with a black case that looked, through our very large picture window, as if it was a sample case.
So when she rang the bell I automatically said that we were not interested.
But she insisted that it was Hubby’s, of course using his rightful name, how odd I thought. How did he know this pretty young thing?
And so I called him in the garage and he said that she was such and such, who is our next door neighbor’s beautiful girlfriend and just so happens to work in the medical field and coincidentally was the technician that was in the room with me when I had my needle biopsy a few months ago!
Gosh, such a small world!
She was returning Hubby’s Saws-all in its kit that he had loaned to them; so her boyfriend, our neighbor too, could install his speakers in his boat for their cruise on it, on the Fourth of July!
I must be getting some type of dementia, but Hubby sees them both more than I do. I stay in unless in the pool and our pool is blocked by vines on their side of our yard.
Embarrassing and of course when Hubby told me who she was; I apologized profusely! Well, I am sure by now she thinks that I am dotty and that’s not to say that I’m not at times and that does worry me…but I hear tell worrying makes it worse.
And really, who would think that something like that would come in such a fanciful black bag via a young woman, ha?

Moving on…
The ‘Complex Issue’ appears to be resolved for now, once the monies were posted with additional charges for currency conversions surmounting to four transactions by that incompetent company! Our bank has taken over the problem and is refunding us all the monies that were charged or I should say removing them from the account.
A few of the problems on the computer I was able to resolve with help from Hubby. But many are still not right, x-ing out pictures, and not having favorites coming up, only a blank screen and still blue writing on all the documents’ listings that were never in that original problem to begin with… access for many things is still not available and on and on … even this program had to be shut down due to glitches while writing this tonight I had to reboot! I was lucky that I saved what I wrote…used to doing it with power failures due to our weather systems.
So I do believe we are right in how we handled the situation.

Feeling relieved with a mild form of peace of mind, is a wonderful thing, hmm?

On a little bit of a positive note allow me to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you kindly to count all your blessings and share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

Lazy, hazy days of summer...

Weather is not predictable; no matter how we try to make it seem that way.
How do they teach something that cannot be regulated or counted on is beyond many a person’s comprehension?

We are not unable to study whatever it takes to become a meteorologist, people are capable, but the weather still is not defined as simplistic as one may think.

Many a TV weather person has been blamed for an ill fated weather prediction, but is it really their fault?

Think of the meaning of the word, ‘prediction’, forecast, guess, calculation, prophecy, hmm?
Get it?

All not exacting in values to wrap your day around with some positive absolute, hmm?

So the next time the guy or gal on TV tells you it will not rain in your neighborhood and it does, or the sun will be shinning most all of your day and nope it doesn’t, think about what you know to be true and actual…now think harder… is there anything that is really that predictable in life?

BIG SMILE HERE.

Now go on and live your life without knowing what will happen next and see how that goes…

I bet it goes just fine.
Since that is what predictable, unpredictability is!

Moving on…
Today I swam and ate and vacuumed out this computer tower, I know an old fashioned PC we have but upgraded with new components and hard drive just a while ago…
The fellows that charged us a small fortune to fix our computer yesterday have not fixed it and I was wrong we started around ten A.M. not eleven with them trying and it went on until last night where we told them to stop!
Since they had yelling in their office which sounded like a boiler room operation in their admittedly India location too noisy while trying to ask questions of me the customer or Hubby and hard to understand too…!
I foolishly did not Google the company until just before we ended our relationship with them… due to what I found, many complaints and accusations of the company being fraudulent, WHOA!
And so although they called back a few times Hubby took the calls and told them what had been found and asked them to return our monies, but they insisted it would take seventy-two hours, meanwhile I called our bank that our credit card is with, after I deleted all their personal accesses to this computer, supposedly to easily access them for any additional help…Our bank could not do too much since the transactions are pending in the system and once they post they are now aware that these are disputed charges and they gave me a reference number and said the amounts will be credited to my account! Two separate amounts of too much, still too embarrassed to mention… but cheaper than a new computer was the reasoning then.

This early evening they called again and wanted to know if we were happy with their service, Hubby answered thankfully and told them the truth!
We still have many unresolved issues that I am sure are VERY COMPLEXED!
But I ask you, isn’t that why you hire technicians to fix them for you?
Well, they didn’t and so they won’t get paid for a job not done well at all!
The company that I am speaking of is called Virtual PC Support, and in my opinion, they are not a reliable company and charge way too much for not fixing your computer! I suggest you Google them too, or try the brick and mortar route that we will be going back to when we know that we have been reimbursed.
Sadly, this did not sound too good to be true, a usual red light… it sounded like a price for a product of superior quality… that too is a BIG MISTAKE!

Sorry for the downer note… stems from the old expression ‘buyer beware’…
But allow me anyway to wish you a very happy good night and try to stay cool and dry and well and kindly count all your blessings and share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

Complex issues...

Here I go again!
Yep, I hear you all saying, I bet you had a computer thingy, hmm?
You betcha!
Found a Geek Crew online to supposedly fix it in a half an hour from the eleven thirty A.M. when I first called, only a half hour more around twelve thirty… and so it went on all day long. Hubby and I took turns on the phone and live messaging.
I missed lunch, no biggy there; I can use to miss quite a few of them…
But I was to be at the clinic in that next half hour by one and Hubby had to take over so I could shower and dress, take my Copaxone shot, etc…!
The problem is hopefully resolved except now all my word stored programs just showed up in a blue colored font, oh no!
This company charged quite a bit too, embarrassingly way too much, now on our charge and it is not right still, but supposedly it was a very complex issue…all day long?

The tech insisted that they store all previous problems in their databases to know how to fix any others when they should come up, but apparently ours was unique?
I asked and he gave me the run around again, complexity of the issue was the running gag, which almost made me gag!

I hope we were not taken, but I did write to the company and let them know I thought we should get a more significant discount, due to it not being fixed in a timely manner.
The whole tedious ordeal, in my opinion took way too long to rectify, and Hubby agrees wholeheartedly.
This is not just complaining to have something to write about, oh I suppose it is a wee bit of that too, but it truly felt like a weird form of customer abuse…and of course you had to pay up front.
Light bulb went off but too late and besides our credit card is the type if you dispute a charge they back you up with removing it.

Moving on…
Today was uplifting and hopeful at the clinic but due to HIPPA I cannot get specific on what was done or for whom… but if the method helps these people it will definitely be a very rewarding thing that the woman in charge of the program who had me observe her today did… as Martha Stewart would say, “It’s a good thing”. And I am very happy that I will be a part of it.

On that more upbeat way of thinking, allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

4th of...let me think... I know it must be important, since I heard told that people were out shopping for this day today... but...

Now, don’t say anything, let me think for myself… shush, no hints, now stop that ###@@@@#### noise!
Sounds like explosions bursting in air!
Gosh, now you made me lose my train of thought with that racket…
And I almost had it!
Dagnamit!

Silence please!
I seem to recall something having to do with a birthday, no I must have gotten that mixed up with my own four days ago, no; yes, I was born on Canada’s celebratory day; it is the anniversary of the uniting in 1867 of Upper and Lower Canada, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia as the dominion of Canada. Geez, this is so confusing… it was on the tip of my tongue, but…
I still get the feeling that it has to do with someone’s special day, okay, I suppose now would be good time to toss me a hint…waiting… waiting… I can’t hear you!
Damn, when I really need you, you aren’t there for me, boo hoo…
Oh that’s right, a dim light just lit in my wee brain; it’s not just a very special day for someone it’s a special day for our NATION, i.e. everyone!
It’s tax free Wednesday?
No, of course not, let’s try having a middle of the week holiday, day?
That’s just too ridiculous… I got it…
The fact that it is the fourth day of this month means something in this… I’m getting it… By George, I think I’ve got it, now George I do believe has a significant role in this day, and a Benjamin, and a John I do believe…YEP!
I got it; the original BEATLES! Little known fact there were only three, and George was the first and John were always there and of course little is remembered about Benji, but he was flat, off key, and didn’t last too long… and then came Paul and Ringo after…
Now, I can hear you and you are yelling, now stop that!
I know it's no!
Gotcha!
I was kidding of course we all know that I was referring to George Washington, the sixth great uncle of Denzel, and Benjamin Franklin, the high as a kite guy, what a rep, another little known fact also great grandpa seven times removed to Bonnie of the single Mom’s TV show fame… and John Adams, the sixth removed father-in-law of Amy…
They sent into motion on this day way back in 1776, two hundred and thirty-six years ago (little known fact, number two son was born in the bi-centennial year and for that he received a patriotic birth certificate! And that is why I knew it was that many years ago so quickly.), a group project to gain our independence for the Mother land called ENGLAND, and we have never looked back…oh wait…

We will all be converging on her once again on her shores this time on July 27th 2012!
But for fun and games, so I am told and not to rehash old wounds!
But to beat the pants off of the world in legitimate horse play of ancient premises and skills! Ta da!

Aint life odd how, when many, many moons ago we all tried to end each others ways by bloodshed and now we will just be civilized and win in all those sports!
All wars would be better if turned into sporting competitions, and I would love to see that from now on in any and all disagreements to try to do that…

We are so lucky as a nation not to be in a war zone, except for natural disasters life here has been good for most, in spite of the economy, most still have a roof over their heads, food and clothing, wait that is not true; too many don’t!
And right this minute too many are suffering from the natural disasters aftermath, my heart breaks that we as a nation have fallen into so much sadness and horrors of recent and daily memory… what should we do?
I hear you all, HELP EACH OTHER NOW!

Personally, I received my first call to work for this week at that free clinic I will be volunteering at, and sadly but not too sadly since we will help this person who has undergone a transplant, sign your donor cards all, anyway, we will be helping that particular party gain access to the medication that they need so they don’t reject their new organ…!
This person fell through the donut-hole.
Yep, got their transplant but not the insurance to pay for the upkeep!
And that is what I will be doing helping them get that access, and so I am truly blessed… you can be too… just help someone.

On that note of what did make our country at one time the greatest in the world, and knowing that we can do that again, allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and ask you kindly to count all your blessings and to share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

Does anyone but me know that it's the third of July, not the FOURTH?

Tonight, many cities are having their fireworks displays!
Is it they’re going with their individual tradition or just the idea of beating others to the punch and make the celebration of our country’s Independence Day last longer?
Whatever the case, having the FOURTH fall in mid-week, hump-day, is creating havoc with businesses that have employees expecting a longer weekend I suppose… That’s pure speculation on my part, since I am retired from all of that?

Any-who, having a longer than three or four day weekend with or without pay is the question, I suppose?
In this economy I would suspect that without pay is presumptuous of me, but it does seem almost logical, hmm?
Unless of course you were taking your paid vacation time off than that changes the whole enchilada, hmm?
Sounds like a plan for next time if you did not think of it for this time, right?

If I was of the work persuasion still, I would think of perhaps plan to take off this time of year with small children since school is out pretty much everywhere in this northern hemisphere, unless you count the places that have all year round school… But even those places have a few weeks here or there off… I do believe it is the law!
All year round school is a misnomer, since they still have the required one hundred and eighty days required by that above spoken of law.
The difference is the placement of holidays and vacations, which here in the US of A are different in meaning but elsewhere they mean the same thing, got that?
Here holidays are federal or religious days off or due to weather encroachments such as snow or a hurricane or a tornado days off etc… and vacation is when schools choose to close for usually our summer months for three or two and half… or for a couple of weeks then reopen and sporadically open and close throughout the year with the reasoning of your offspring’s not losing anything they tried hard to get into their soft mushy developing welcoming noggins that we so love until they do what we were priming them for, and what’s that; you so boldly ask? Why, to think for themselves and make a few mistakes that will either teach them not to do that again or have them always having to make more to learn the hard way! And the beat goes on…sound familiar?
Sure it does, as usual the more things change the more they stay the same, Déjà vu once again, ha?
And your parents threatened... that I hope that you get one just like you!
The best part of that is you can reverse that too, on your little darlings, kidding or not.

Moving on…
Yesterday Skipper went for his yearly shots and he was a good boy that is after all was said and done and so we went to Fishville where he loves and he had a marvelous time being a well behaved canine!
This morning he went for a short swim with me and Hubby did get the camera in time to take a little snap shot of our four legged son, who never ever talks back…ha! After all he is eight now and learned how to behave a while back… or not...

our own little guy!

The point of me discussing all the celebrations beginning early that are nothing new, but Charlotte County is having their fireworks on the FOURTH of JULY like many big cities do too…how about that?
Small town with big ways of doing it… get your minds out of the gutter, I meant fireworks, of course sillies!

And on that odd way to wish you all a very happy good night and a great safe evening and day and another night tomorrow night, HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY, kindly allow me to ask you to count all those blessings and share all those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

PS Lastly, a man that molded all of us in knowing that somehow somewhere there is good and wholesomeness and the honest will out, as his portrayals of Andy Taylor and Matlock, a dear sweet kindly human being Andy Griffith has been called up to heaven at the tender age of eighty-six and he will be sorely missed by all who were entertained by his down home charms.

The Day After

Back to a somewhat normal routine that consists of not having such highfaluting ideas of doing only for oneself; now back down-to-earth realism; but not so fast…

Hard being a Rock-Star one day and a commoner the next…but life goes on, and on and on…doesn’t it?
Gosh, what silly ridiculous talk?
I am retired, oh that’s real-tired and that too and I have all the time on my hands that I need to use my joyful fanciful ideas for fun as often as I so desire!
That is… if I have the stamina to do it all, as I had done as a youngin… in a galaxy far, far away!
Wait is this the Milky Way?
I hear you say, a robust, YEAH!

I am already at that galaxy; the Milky Way, and it is not by any means far, far away, but near as it gets… Right here, next door, to River City AKA Punta Gorda in good ole Port Charlotte, Florida in these fine United States of America; on a planet called Earth, by Jove! Wait, here’s an interesting trivia tidbit ‘Jove’ is another name for Jupiter, but that is the Roman god Jupiter, and nope we are really far from the planet Jupiter, but it is in our Galaxy, but very far, far away!

Gosh connections are strange, hmm?
Who would have thunk that using a catch phrase, such as the one above,’ by Jove’, which also is used to convey surprise, would bring about finding its origins, hmm? That’s how I like, uh, huh, uh, huh, uh, huh?

Now add that into your vocabulary, catch phrasing and give it a whirl, you might like it too?

Many may think that we have a very nice life here in Florida; well we do and can, after all who could ever complain about anything while living here in PARADISE, hmm?

I know many islands including the ‘BIG’ one in the Pacific, need I say more… claim to be ‘PARADISE’, but of course there is no argument there… As anyone will tell you there are specific elements that have to co-exist to create that so-called ‘PARADISE’ and here is the short list: Palm trees swaying in the balmy breezes, sunshine most all of the time, beaches, which brings me to the water surrounding most all of the sides of the dry areas, islands are easy, separate from their main-lands…but we are a peninsula not unlike another famous one but in the Mediterranean… also considered a PARADISE!
We are very flat though, not a requirement, but I just thought I would mention that to any of you who have a fear of heights… I don’t believe we have any hills or mounds anywhere where our topography can state they’re mountainous, (maybe the height of ten story building or that facsimile, doesn’t count, really!) nope we don’t! I just checked; lightening speedy I can be…
So height fears are easily extinguished Ta da!

Where was I?
Oh PARADISE, yep we live here in that and why not enjoy it as much and as often as we can…!
And so although our boat was bought nine years ago new and has a bit of wear on it, but not much… and our pool is a tiny weenie little thingy we got all the components to enjoy the great island out doors!
We even live on the water well not on the water since then I would be under it right now, we have it at the back of our yard beyond our lawn… the saltwater canal rests and it is the road to the harbor in five minutes flat!
And we have palm trees in our front yard as well as our back yard, and our lot is a flat quarter acre, and sunshine is pretty regular, barring hurricanes or tropical storms or that cooling-off drizzle we get in the normal summer afternoons…and we don’t take our name lightly, oh for those of you who don’t live in this place we call PARADISE, our handle, moniker, Nicky-name extraordinaire is ‘THE SUNSHINE STATE!’ Now I rest my case, BOORAH!

The point is that if you live here, go to school here, work here or retired here you got it made in the shade, so enjoy… I know that I am willing to give it another try in this my new year of my life and you should too!

On that note of a suggestive amplification of a germ of an idea, allow me to be the first to wish you a very happy good night and ask you kindly to count all your blessings and share all those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

Birthday and the history of all our celebratory days of that name and why we celebrate them...

Mostly the Geeks are responsible for us having that day of our birth, therefore called our birth-day, for the cake and candles too! Oops, did I say Geeks?
I meant the Greeks, and they were all brilliant fellows too!
Mostly my day of my birth was spent enjoying our G-d given accoutrements, nah, kidding, I did my morning in the pool and then, we went to Red Lobster for a late lunch then the mall to scooter around a bit, and then back here for relaxing and a light dinner, lastly we went on a sunset cruise, early enough to see everything… and here is what I will show to you my extensive pictorial… So on this concept of a picture is worth a thousand words allow me to be the first to wish each and every one of you a very happy night and you all kindly to count your blessings and share your overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

PS:There were thirty one taken, but I thought that this told a short tale of how we ended a pleasant birthday, minus the cake, which everyone knows that I look much better without! THE DRY SPELL IS OVER, Perhaps we will renew our fishing licenses too!

Speaking My Mind: Interesting familiar diagnosis for one and horrifi...

Speaking My Mind: Interesting familiar diagnosis for one and horrifi... :   But these are MINE! Not Hubby's! What he has is not contagio...
