K and T's Excellent Adventure!

Ups and downs and downs and ups, such is life, love, smiles, tears, belly laughs and anything else one might imagine after forty-seven years of being together and forty-three years of legally being together!

Life and relationships have cycles, not unlike the moon's, and as my Dad used to say "it is always darkest before the dawn" and "what goes up must come down". Well, maybe Dad didn't say all that, but he was a very wise man.

"Nobody's perfect, least of all you, but I am." Bud dump bum... was another one of his jewels. Mom used to say, "never go to bed mad; always makeup."
They had a loving relationship which was memorable... and sadly I am not them!
Sure I always love Hubby and him me, but I am too outspoken and emotional compared to my parents and so our relationship has been anything but smooth sailing, and to tell you the truth we argue loudly and at times with much colorful verbiage! But we always kiss and say goodnight with love! You see we both have strong personalities that can clash and that is more than likely why we also love one another, no wishy washy here ever!

And these last several years have not been what either of us signed on for, chronic illness...sure we said so in our vows, sickness and health, richer, poorer but do any of us really want to believe that could happen, no of course not, not ever!

Any-who, you know something, do you want to know what true love is?
Sticking together in spite of hard times, sure I complain and he does too and it's okay, it can clear the air and usually find common ground if done right!

What my Dad said about not being perfect... duh, is true for all of us and once we realize that anything goes with understanding our quirkiness; for Robert, people who originated out of Paramus NJ are not the only ones! Hubby is from Oradell and he is literally FULL OF IT! Quirky that is, or was that flaky, Gosh, I forgot. Not too different.

Anyway, forgiveness is what is important too; going back to not being perfect...

Enough already! Whatever we have been doing seems to work for us, but relationships are trial and errors and you must have fun finding out what works for you!

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you!

Moving on...

To our excellent adventure
Our morning started late...
We left the compound of our palatial eleven hundred square foot estate home on its quarter acre, with a mini 8'X16' Olympic sized swimming pool, fish pond stocked with five grown Goldfish, on a saltwater waterfront that is only five minutes to the harbor via our 20' yacht!
Departing at eleven A.M. to where, you so boldly ask?

The GYM/REHAB! Hubby's initial idea, but I surprised him with agreeing and getting ready to go this morning an hour before I had to be, ha!
I tried everything again, equipment wise, the arm-cycle, the total gym, the pull down thingy, but I was only able to do a couple of minutes on them, BUT I DID A COUPLE OF MINUTES! Better than no minutes, hmm?
Tired and worn out it was time to go TO LUNCH!

We had both had become brainwashed by the Red Lobster commercials with it being lobster month or something like that! So this frugal gal with her Hubby moseyed on up to our local restaurant that bears that name, Red Lobster. I ordered by desire not cost, lobster tail, shrimp and scallops all grilled, rice pilaf and Caesar salad and broccoli came with it too! Hubby had the four course meal with soup, salad and broiled Tilapia and desert. I shared with Hubby the lobster and scallops; since he is done with shrimp, too much we used to buy and we still do make Tilapia, but he likes it, we have ours Blackened/spicy. I was thinking ahead so when he had his dessert served the server brought two spoons for the ice cream and brownie that I told Hubby to eat all but a spoonful of each! That was enough and PS although my dinner came with drawn butter I did not use it at all, only a little bit of fresh lemon juice, actually it was so tasty au naturalle that I did inhale it with mucho gusto, heavenly!
We decided that their lobster bisque would be perfect for our dinner and that is what we did brought that home from there!

Oh, why do lunch for an anniversary, well when you have Valentine's Day as your date, well here’s the deal folks…lunch is less crazy and usually without a wait or much of one, ya know?

I put my watch on when we leave the house, but forgot until we were out that the battery was dead so our last stop was Batteries Plus and yes they are quite competitively priced, in other words: not bad at all!
Now I realize many are more than likely trying to figure out why I considered this to be K and T’s Excellent Adventure? First of all K is the initial of Hubby’s true identity and T is me here or there or anywhere, got that?
And the idea of leaving the home-front after too many months of NOT or going out for just the doctor or MRI… so getting to have some fun is quite my PERSPECTIVE on what I like to label OUR EXCELLENT ADVENTURE and the details of what that is, is above in both vignettes of my essays…
On that love note of life is a bowl of cherries and no I do not feel that I am living in the pits, but they do show up on occasion, for us all, and that is why having any joy in one’s life with that special someone is MONUMENTAL and should be expressed and celebrated when that fluke of nature occurs, or not!
Sweet dreams to all!
