Last night’s reporting action
was minimal, and there was a reason for that!
I am happy to say that by all
things good and dear to us, Hubby felt that he had a very good day!
Number One Son arrived much
earlier than expected, by nine thirty A.M. and I felt the need to feed him and
us since we had not had our breakfasts either.
But the plan was to have the
remaining meals out for the day as well as the entertainment.
And so this it what we did…
After breakfast we hung out
and chatted and even chose to order a birthday cake from our grocery's
excellent bakery, they even customize…it is Publix and I felt like I was
ordering a new car or some other such specific stylized object… It was supposed
to be done sneakily without Hubby’s knowledge, but he had to know, ya know? And
so I rattled off the questions from the baker who hung on the other end of the
line with all of our choices being named in a sequence from icing, butter
cream, cake type, marble, and filling strawberry, and these my friends where
the real berries and of course, size did matter for only three of us, a seven inch was
plenty and lest us not forget what it should say on that tiny space… I almost
started saying the lyrics to that Beatle song, "will you still love me when your
sixty-four", but we all know that would have been ridiculous so we went the
simple benign route with a Happy Birthday, stating his new age, of a year older
than me and of course his moniker! We did that all that time and before we knew
it started to turn into the afternoon and a bit later than our usual noon meal
so that was a good time to get going… and now we wouldn’t be eating two meals so
close together.
After one original restaurant
idea was trumped by another than we chose, the Cracker Barrel, where everyone
could have what they like at a fair price, since I was treating, huh? Everyone knows it’s our
money, but anyone who's married understands. Hubby had chicken and dumplings, Number
One had meatloaf and I had their delicious trout!
Number One Son tried to fight
me for the check, but I said to him that he could pay for the cake as a
compromise, and that seemed to keep the peace.
Wild Bird seed was picked up
at the Tractor Supply Store, which was on the way to our next stop.
And that was to Fisherman’s
Village since the night before was their very early holiday decorating of
there, everything was sparkling even in the daytime when we arrived after our
later than usual lunch. I apologize that again I had forgotten the camera, but I am more
than sure we will be there many times in the next several weeks and at least one or more of those times I will more
than likely have my camera…
We picked up the cake on the
way back to the house… for dinner we had planned that too that the men would pick up
a pizza and Greek salad at Bocca Lupo; yesterday it was a full-moon again and so we
were getting another 18”pie that was usually $15 now for just half price, at just $7.50, while
their very super large Greek Salad was $7, the small is big too; for only $5!
And that is what the men did
at the dinner hour… was go out and pick
that up and a while after we lit the cake and sang good ole Happy Birthday in
the privacy of our own home without a royalty charger to be found anywhere, ha!
Sadly, before the day begun,
my night before had been fraught with pain and I had to wear my neck brace and
so I showered early that morning to try to alleviate that pain, but others always
seem to crop up like my lower back… I said nothing or very little and the day
went fairly well without incident. Number One took my wheelchair in and out of
the car and pushed me too, giving Dad a break.
But that night my not taking
the Nexium I do believe caught up with me since the burning in my esophagus was
too much to bear, I tried everything from Pepcid to green tea with honey and
even moist heat applied to my throat and chest region and by two-ish in the
morning I acquiesced to the Nexium, I had gone about four days without, uh oh I
suppose I’m hooked, not that kind of medication though, really!
Any-who, I suppose I am back
on it since I took just before I sat here tonight after dinner as I had been
doing for just about a year…
All in all though it was
really great getting out it had been not since October 21st! I
checked the stamp from my last gym/rehab visit that is unless you count the
doctor visit on the 23rd?
On that note, allow me to be
the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to kindly
count all your blessings and share all those overages with you know who and we
will too!
And next time please be here
or be square, ya hear!
