Commonalities are amazing when you find people who can
relate to you and you to them as well.
But truly understanding one another is not quite as easy, ya
know?
Some of us who try to magnify the positive and play down the
negative are thought to be Polyannas and others just tell it as it is…
I do both.
It’s hard to know what makes others say, “Geez, I get that!”
Life has ups and downs and whoever doesn’t realize that
doesn’t live their life realistically.
I had someone tell me that I am getting out and about so
much so, but they cannot.
Then I thought; why can’t they?
Is it due to not having any transportation?
Is it due to not having the time?
Or could they think that it costs money? Sure for gas.
Well, and aside from eating out whenever we wish or feel the
need to, due to not sharing equally the chores anymore…that does cost some
money, but we recently started using our points for those places and save a
bit…
Any-who, most all the venues we find entertaining are FREE!
Whenever we go to the home and garden shows or most things
at our convention center, there is no charge, art galleries are free too, and
farmer’s markets too, unless you buy something, which in the case of the farmer’s
market you really should, because it is mmm, mmm good for you!
We are fortunate to have so many things locally, art and
antiques shows, street fairs, crafts and flea markets there is always something
going on usually.
With my heat sensitivity though, in recent years, we have had
to choose wisely, indoor venues in the hot months, and go to the outdoor ones
when the weather cools off a bit.
There is always more going on here from October to April due
to it being our ‘Snowbird Season’.
People who put together the activities anywhere in this
state that has a large population of
‘Snowbirds’ tries hard to make them happy by entertaining
them.
For any of you out there who may not know the term,
‘Snowbird’, well it is not derogatory at all, it just refers to our cold
weather friends who come to Florida or perhaps other warmer climate states to avoid
their too cold snowy winters and stay for the duration and so they fly south,
figuratively or actually, thus being ‘Snow-Birds’, see no harm no foul,
pun intended…
Many are from Canada,
and not geese, ha, not just the colder United
States, and many, most, own their second homes here in Florida.
You have to be here for more than a normal vacation to be
considered one, at least a month or more… I do believe, but I could be wrong, I
have been wrong before…and that is oh so true!
And so to that person who felt that my life was more fun, or
easier or what-have-you than theirs I still believe it is up to all of us to
find things to make us happy.
My happy and your happy are probably not the same, but that
doesn’t matter…
Everyone has to find their own.
Since I am sometimes childlike, that is with my attention
span, some things that made me happy one day might not work the next…and so
that could be true for you too?
And quiet nothingness sometimes is just what the doctor
ordered, well not the doctor, but it could be he/she too, than thy self and
that’s fine too!
But trying too hard to please anyone, including yourself,
(now get your minds out of the gutter) can at times be futile and so relax…
Take time to figure out what you need for yourself to be
able to do what you really want to do… all that keeps running through my brain
is when I was working the concept was to work hard and to play hard too, in
other words a balance between the two, now does that still make sense? I bet to
some of you it does. In my case it means responsibility to take of necessities and
than go out and have some fun, for sanity if for no other reason… IT’S GOOD FOR YOU!
On that note or a point around the bend, ha, allow me to be
the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to kindly
count all your blessings and share all those overages with you know who and we
will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
