We all know that women by
nature are nurturers, now with that said…
But when the children have
flown the coop, so to speak, that emotional feeling doesn’t go away, pets are
wonderful to fulfill that empty nest syndrome, but so are plants, what?
Although, to be honest we
have usually had all in our lives simultaneously anyway… and that created a
fulfillment in any and all persons lives, male or female and they would have to
admit that it was true.
And yes, men also have that
nurturing gene within them too, and might not want to say it aloud, but it’s
there…when we see the expression on their face with that first child being placed
in their arms, or even that kitten or cat, or puppy or dog, or seedling, bulb
or plant, huh?
You have your love affair and
I will have mine, ha…think of the non-jealousy reasoning here. Who would admit
that a plant was taking away the affections of their partner, really?
But us smart cookies know how
to split that love into fractures of multitudes without skipping a beat, hmm?
Never let them think that
they aren’t included, i.e. partners.
Have them realize that the
rearing/growing of the seedling/s, bulbs is of mutual concern with respect to a normal
healthy home front, right?
Sure you do…
Illness for even plants makes
one hustle for help or at least answers…
Like when Cally, yes I named
our caladium, its easier to discuss her that way…any-who, three of her new
leaves had browning on their edges and so, what would you do?
Well, I did the only thing I
could think of, and so I emailed with pictures, a specialist in the field…
Allison Turner at our local county extension and she
emailed back that she thought
from the pictures they were older leaves, but they weren’t… and so I did a bit
of surgery and amputated the three leaves that were deformed, harsh but it was all I could think of and it worked! Cally felt
well again and happy and more leaves grew in their place and still more are
about to open!
But sadly, another medical
issue appeared; a parasite, of the white fly variety seemed to be trying hard to
make our vivacious Cally their home!
And so I Googled the insipid
issue and aside from harsh chemicals or insecticidal soap mild dish detergent
in warm water could be all the young gal needed and I did it and she is a
blooming healthy beauty once again!
Hip, hip, hooray!
And as I have said before and
so has everyone else… a picture is worth a thousand words and here’s CALLY and
her off shoots, TA DA!
Three more or her leaves are
about to open and one is a giant one, you can just catch a glimpse of it right
there in her middle.
So now I will 'leave' you, get
the pun?
With the joy of indoor
gardening in your hearts and souls… and on that note of what can be when the
kids embark on their own journey, that’s alright because now you know that you
have something/body else to care for and it too concerns nurture with a lot of
NATURE!
On that silly note, allow me
to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to
kindly count all your blessings and share those overages with you know who and
we will too!
And next time please be here
or be square, ya hear!
