Are you smarter than a fifth grader?

Who is the target audience of a typical TV or NET commercial?
Is it just me or do you too feel that most sales pitches are geared toward the intellect of a young child and yes, most fifth graders are way too smart for them, but perhaps a five year old might feel even superior too? I am genuinely at a loss...than whom?

Insulting at times with their shouting and constant repeating of what they want us to buy or the offer that if you act right now we will give you two for just the one price of $19.95, but wait, if you act now, again, we will throw in a third for the same price, all you have to do is just pay separate handling and shipping for those two additional ones that, if you check it brings that tally not just to $19.95 for three of something no one really needs or even really wants, but to around seventy plus dollars with those just additional shipping and handling!

I loved when a bargain was really a bargain; remember those days?
Even today I got sticker shock when I tried to order additional ice packs for my cooling vest. For just a two sectioned, pack of four of them the price was $25.00, but shipping and handling is $14.95, bringing that total to around forty bucks for that set of cold-packs! So I nixed it, temporarily; with the thinking that perhaps we have a store here that sells them without the shipping and handling cost. They are so size-specific for my cooling vest that I did get for free from the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, back in 2010, never thinking about the 'what if', factor of maintenance.

I know, to some, I may sound cheap, but I am of the ilk that I usually deal with companies that offer FREE shipping!
And yes, friends they do exist; case in point, again a note of my friends at Spin Life, they always ship for FREE! The ones where I got my scooter, walker and wheelchair and even my replacement wheelchair and the damaged one’s return trip too! Many know that I am right, from their own shopping frequently online. PS we paid for each one of those out of pocket since they do not accept insurance. Being disabled is not as easy as many think in attaining what we really need, insured or not, since I have been both and I am able to speak from either aspect. So any help we can get is wonderful and deeply appreciated and I believe when I say most non-profits have tough criteria for anyone to meet prior to gaining access to any of their generous gifts would be a vast understatement. I know from filling out all the forms with proof of everything including your copies of your income taxes, etc.!

I do believe that my vest cannot use other packs and I did forget to mention why I needed others now. Well, a couple of them are leaking and so far we have not figured out a good way to seal them or where the leaks are coming from.

This just in: Hubby will have to take them outside to dry them out, meaning the garage, since right now it’s raining here and than it wouldn’t be a good idea because it wouldn’t be very dry out there…ha! But you knew that.

On that little bit of an upbeat note, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know who and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
