Is there a day that we don’t
get bombarded with commercials?
Now don’t you pseudo
intellects, okay sorry, truly intelligent people, try to tell me that you don’t
watch TV, because they are on here as well as every techno marvels’ system that
any of us may or may not own, as pop ups, phishing schemes, delving into whatever
we search for, which in turn becomes our ads alongside our welcome screens or
our home bases or even on my blog, but I say okay to that one, how about the
others though, hmm?
And aren’t some of those ads
misleading with come-ons that expect you to click on them and if you decide to
take that minuscule leap of faith there you will have a pre-commercial before
the primary commercial that has a gimmick, not written words to read as quickly
as you care to, no, but another short film that has you tantalized for the
latest and the greatest that you didn’t even realize that you needed!
Yes, folks, if you thought
you weren’t being tracked all these pre-Edward Snowden years, you would be
sorely, wrong!
Marketing at its finest,
makes me sort of sorry I am out of the game, no need for telemarketers, we
consumers do all the work for them!
They know what we eat, drink,
think, stink, wear, tear, fear, need, and even if we will still be there or
somewhere else etc.… something to think about, hmm?
Oh I am more than sure you
all know all this, nothing new here…,
Than why all the fuss about
our government seeing what you do?
Truth be told, the most
recent poll taken says 57%, don’t mind at all!
I guess those are who I would
think are the honest ones with nothing to hide.
So that leaves only 43% who
might care, or if subdivided some who don’t know if they do or don’t…Lets think
about those just for arguments sake, those 43% who are also honest, but in
their minds it is like BIG Brother keeping track of us.
Valid, except for the fact of
my outing people in the real world who go to work and use technical devices in
their jobs or even just merely a cell phone, many with GPS… supposedly more
have them than landlines these days… and so my point is made!
Reality check 43% er’s!
Moving on…
Have any of you also wondered
why when car commercials try to sell you their car they only usually give you a
price it will cost to lease it, not the buying price? I don’t suppose that
would be called ‘selling’, huh?
I do realize that many cars
today are more than our first home that is especially true for us who had our
first home in 1972, our vehicle that we own now, we bought in 2001 for just
over 29K a bit more than our NJ townhouse,
our first home, which by the way, is now worth just over 300K.
Sure sticker shock is scary,
but it does tell us if it is a feasible, or if we are out of luck! Fortunately,
our 2001 has just around 39K miles on it, due to it being mine and brand new
when purchased back in 2001, several years before I could not drive anymore and
since Hubby’s been retired we stay these nearly, last seven years in our ten
mile radius. He had a patrol car for work until then.
Also, they make it so
difficult to try and find out the price of any of them online without giving
out your name or address, oops, BIG BROTHER, again, LOL!
Any-who, by the end of next
month we will have a little extra since Hubby’s dental work will be all paid
off and it was paid off faster without interest with CareCredit, our eighteen
month no interest plan I paid off in twelve months by dividing it up that way
and sure enough we will be all done!
The reason, I am so
interested is, is the age of our car and the not so great gas mileage that it
gets, and knowing the amount would tell me if we have to set aside months of
savings or not so many with a legit price to strive for, ya know? That is the
only reason and we don’t like the idea of not having anything at the end of
owning, oh sure ours isn’t worth much now but, who knows if we will keep our vehicle
that long again, we never did ever before.
We were every three years or
so previously to this one.
Our number one son called
today, while Hubby was getting gas and groceries, and when I mentioned the
possible plan to him, he said that with us not owing anything on our car and
only traveling in our small radius, he said than he felt we should leave it
alone for now… I mentioned that I might go to a doctor up in Tampa for my MS, like my doctor suggested, he
said well then, he saw the reasoning. I said than we could visit him and he said
he would put in a ramp on his new home that he just hired an architect and drew
up the plans with a week ago… way down the pike on that one.
Oh I don’t know…
I suppose caution is best.
Go slow when not sure.
On that note of who knows
what, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night
and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all those overages
with you know who and we will too!
And next time please be here
or be square, ya hear!
