Being a woman who is open to
the world, literally, since ten countries read this weekly… allow me to
continue to relay my personal experience with my IV 1000 MG. Solu Medrol
infusion for three days, which was all done on Monday. The residual effects
last much longer, hopefully to eventually resolve my eyesight in my left eye
without pain, blurriness or floaters…
My diabetic reaction is on
again off again and so Hubby had to go out once more for syringes, thinking
that the original ten would be enough with the 100 units of the insulin, since
mine is only a temporary reaction to the steroid medication. Although, my
glucose went down yesterday morning it went back up once again last night that
is after I already posted here. And with just two syringes left Hubby felt the
necessity to go out after to get another ten pack. Most places tried to sell us
a one hundred syringe pack, the more common size sold, but we definitely
thought that was way too much!
And even yesterday after my
gym time Hubby thought perhaps to be safe that we should stop to buy another
ten pack.
But as it has it, most places
are very cautious even Walgreen’s where he bought the first ten pack, but at
the time he had my insulin with him to prove why he needed them and this time
it was home in the frig and so they would not sell him the additional safety
net ten pack he felt that I should have, and that is why he went out with the
box from my insulin last night, he had called the pharmacist to verify it would
be good enough to prove that way.
Up and down is how it may be
going for the next several months, it has been the history for me each and
every time I have been on them, for six months after this has happened, which
is the way many of us have the same reaction and it is not that unusual.
My head and eyes are still
not right, yet.
I have been feeling quite a
bit of pressure in both, and I am writing this with limitations that I am
fighting against, i.e. my compromised sight and pain.
A few times I tried lying
down to rest, but for some reason I could not. The threat of rain and then the
actual occurrence could be a partial reason for the head pressure, low
barometric, as we all know, does have that effect on many of us. Even wildlife
is affected; birds fly lower with it and so it must be affecting them too.
I am still hopeful that it will eventually
work that is to regain normalcy in my left eyesight, many take time as much as in
days, weeks or even months later and so we will see what we will see, for real!
We had a few phone calls
today; one was for our closing on this house under the HARP program where our
home met the criteria for refinance even though it is worth less than what we
have left on our mortgage. On Monday, April 22, 2013 we had the closing here at
our home. But today there was a small error that had to be rectified; one
witness was missing on the mortgage paper itself and so we will be taking care
of that. The deed only needed one but the mortgage needed two for some reason.
You see that we would think we would know that since it is our fifth closing in
just Florida
alone! As of next month we will be saving just over $77 a month on our loan due
to nearly a two per cent lower interest rate, but even with all that we remain
with even a few months less on our conventional fixed-rate mortgage which
hasn’t have that much longer and we feel that it will not outlive us.
A win, win. And this lower
rate gives us that option that everyone has to pay down the principle whenever
we can.
Being retired already, for
nearly seven years, for us it is more beneficial than some may think not to
leave anything debt wise. Most don’t feel the need now, but we will see if things
are stable with taxes and insurances for a while, but as we all know that is
not probable. The original refinance was due to their ever climbing without
stopping, our previous mortgage was also a fixed rate conventional with a higher
interest rate, but the timing was right with lower rates and the fact we met
the criteria for this specific HARP one that is unique and one we had not heard
of ever before. I believe it is a new concept.
Anyway, right now we have
this month off for payments and next month we will begin at the new lower rate
to pay, and so we had a bit of wiggle room with my out of pocket need for this
medical procedure that all in all was only around $400, and was paid when the
medication was delivered and then when the nurse was done. The insulin from
Walmart was a quarter of the price that the others wanted, around $25 compared
to $96 at Walgreen’s who told us about the better price at Walmart, a bit of
Miracle on 34th Street in their hearts there… for the same
quantities, even that can be shopped, but you all know that.
And so I think that is it for
tonight’s updates into our lives with any major information. Albeit our eldest,
number one son had called too and that is always a joy for us; he and his
girlfriend had been to Amelia
Island last weekend and
had a wonderful time, so nice to hear. They work hard and play hard too as all
in their forties should!
On that note of happiness is
where you find it, in the joy of others in my case, allow me to be the very
first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count
all your blessings and share all those overages with you know who, and we will
too!
And next time please be here
or be square, ya hear!?
My joy is writing this as
well.
