Today, I felt the need to
accomplish a few domestic chores, while Hubby tended to yard work, specifically
mowing, trimming and blowing the grass from the driveway and walks.
Finally, with all this rain
it did grow enough for his special attention.
I, on the other hand, did a
load of wash and dusted as well as changed out our dinette chair cushions from
their darker blue grey ones with a small print to their lighter pale blue and
white striped ones.
Living in this smaller home
for all of these last, nearly fifteen years, has made us more conscience of
being smart with storage, like on a ship, in a way, is how I like to think of
it.
And without an attic or crawl
or basement, which is a rarity in Florida anyway, but our other two homes that
we had on the other coast in Florida too, did have attics and one even had a crawl,
although, creativity in stowing items had been a slight, but not too difficult
challenge. We do have a garage and two sets of sheds, constructed from the
bottom up with both matching our stucco home, one in the courtyard alongside
fence by the garage and the other in our backyard, also used as a pool house
for equipment and ride on lawn mower, tools, garden supplies, etc.
Yet, with all that said, we
have storage containers under the king bed in the master as well as under the
full size bed in the guest-room. They are used for soft items, such as the
spare cushions for our dinette set and extra linens etc. Unfortunately, one was
pushed too far under for me to retrieve and Hubby was busy mowing the lawn and
I did not want to disturb him and so…I went over to the reacher, you know the
ones that have a handle on one end that you grasp and works the other end that
clasps an object and so I grabbed that, which is kept on the grab bar that was
installed on the wall next to my ramp, when it was just a step and I used a
cane.
Good idea, hmm?
Only problem is it couldn’t
grasp it, it was too far under and so I went over to the other side and thought
I could either push from there or grab from there, no can do!
Lawn mower still purring away
outside, but even if I could get Hubby’s attention with all that noise, he
couldn’t hear me.
And so I went back into the
bedroom and started poking with the reacher then pulling, finally I reached it with
my left hand!
I got it!
Each chair I had washed down
with Lysol and dried and so the cushions were all set to go and they looked
great and springy or more summery.
I have removed the green
fluffy throw and matching tube pillow from the bed in the guestroom and left
just the summery floral ones, just yesterday…and so the seasons have changed
indoors here too.
Sadly, with each move my back
and my body ached and the worse was something new and frightening.
My left hand, the good one
was in agony and it appeared to be coming from my shoulder, no my collar bone!
At first I went into a warm
shower and when that had no affect I tried the moist heat route, never thinking
injury.
But then I searched the net
and came up with mostly collar bone breaks, which I knew was impossible since I
did not fall and I do not have osteoporosis, as of just a couple of months ago
when I had my last bone density.
Then I saw that it could be
soft ligament damage, aha, seemed to fit my hardly used body!
My shoulder is slightly
swollen, Hubby compared the two.
So the temporary non-invasive
choice is cold packs on and off every fifteen minutes and if not better by
tomorrow a doctor’s visit for an MRI to tell if there is soft tissue damage.
Meanwhile, I dread trying to sleep tonight.
And with all the meds in me
that are used to help with my MS pain, but are NOT pain meds…Hopefully, I will
be better with a few more ice applications before bedtime.
And so you can well imagine
this was not easy to write tonight with both sides physically challenged, ah
but an obsession of crazy love.
On that note of is it really
worth it, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good
night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share those overages
with you know who and we will too!
And next time please be here
or be square, ya hear?!
