Hodgepodge tonight!

My brain sort of works that way anyway, so why not? Hubby has been working on a project for the last few days that entails a lot of hard work and weather cooperation. A few years ago he built a boardwalk path from the house down to the dock from the fencing that we received for free from our neighbor. The idea was to enable me to ride my scooter down to the dock without getting stuck in the grass and sadly I never did it, since my scooter stays in the back of the car for maneuverability when we go somewhere. I usually use my walker for the few feet to the pool from the back door and it's been able to go on the lawn without any trouble and it has a seat for me to rest on. Besides, even though the boardwalk was made of cedar it buckled and its nails started to pop. We thought about making a hard path of cement or bricks, but for that distance of nearly 60 feet and 3 feet wide it would have been not very cost-effective. And so after getting a whole bunch of prices we decided that it would be cost-effective to purchase sod for that path, which in the long run, in the rainy season here is a good idea and actually it was the fraction of the cost of all the rest; and right now we are getting a downpour which is only beneficial to the new sod. It really does look nice! Moving on… A few days ago I mentioned that with all my neck problems I went and got my haircut, but years ago I started going to the hairstylist with wet hair. I wash my hair daily in the shower and so I make the appointment and know when I have to be there and get ready to go with a wet head. The reasoning is anyone who has cervical stenosis or even problems with clogged carotid arteries should be wary of those things, their sinks where you recline backwards in the hair salons. It came out many years ago that people with neck disorders or carotid artery problems could by bending their neck backwards into those sinks might cause anything from a stroke to paralysis, and so most people that fall into those categories should be aware and be careful and perhaps do what I do, wash your hair at home. I'm not alone, even the hairstylist said that she has a few clients that do as I do and I said good for them! Now this information has been available for years so I hope anyone out there who wasn't aware of it is not becoming scared… For that wasn't my purpose; it was just another piece of information that I wanted to pass on to any of the people who may be reading this, okay? There's nothing wrong with being cautious in life especially if you know something or some way to still do what you need to do and circumvent any possible dangers. Any-who, today was a weird sort of day I started out not too bad for me and I made a wonderful soup for us for lunch; a combination soup, with a can of smoked oysters, which surprisingly are not very expensive, I used a bit of our leftover heart-smart tomato sauce and a can of stewed tomatoes and also some minced, by me, onions, chopped garlic, carrots, scallions those I threw into my mini food processor, and added in a bit of frozen mixed vegetables into the soup pot and a dash of lemon juice, and according to hubby it was good, he had two bowls full. Oddly enough, after lunch I became a wee bit dizzy and my neck was in pain and my legs were numb and my back went out while I was making the bed,(that's another thing I usually do it on a different day that is wash the sheets, but for some reason I got my days mixed up)… And hubby had come in and helped me finish, actually he finished making the bed. It was a good thing too, since we both thought it was a good idea for me to hop back in it… I put my collar back on that is my cervical collar, and got into bed and of course our noble canine joined me with lots of kisses and plopped down right alongside of me. I don't know how long I was there, but it was probably a few hours and resting seemed to be the answer with a straw and a large glass of club soda, Hubby brought to me, since all medicine prescribed had been taken, even my shot. Really we should all know better that being dehydrated even while inside can cause even the healthiest among us to feel dizzy. And for some reason lately just one that I should not be doing is cutting back on is drinking water or even my new favorite beverage, club soda with a dash of lemon or lime, at least eight a day. It is calorie free just like water and it tastes great! And so with my little hints to remind us all to be cautious with little things like sinks where you ly back or to consume enough non-caloric beverages to prevent dehydration and oodles of medical issues, really! On those words of caring, allow me to be the first to wish you a very happy good night and ask you kindly to count all your blessings and share all your overages and we will too! And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
