Plans are not something you always do when you are retired that is since you have plenty of time on your hands.
Sometimes you just look in a newspaper or online and see what’s going on locally so you can go out and do it, right?

Well, again I fouled up; I suppose since I did not follow up with a phone call. To be fair I just called now and had to leave a voice message since it is a Saturday evening after five thirty P.M. and after the event was to occur so I don’t suppose I will hear anything at the very earliest on this Monday. And after all it is a holiday weekend too.

The reason that I am telling you all this is because once again I did what most of us do I looked up something to do and trusted what I read.
And when we arrived well within the stated time that the event was to occur around eleven thirty A.M., no one was there and no Flea Market or anything was set up.
And sadly there were no people within the building to ask what had happened since mostly it was all volunteers running the show. It is a non-profit center and there are very few staff members that are on salary I do believe.
Even the main person in charge is a volunteer, which is admirable.

So I suppose it was my fault for not following up with that call.
Any-who, we ate lunch there after going through their Trash and Treasure shop, which is sadly getting thinner and thinner with their selections of items with not having as many donations as they should have. Please local Port Charlotte or Punta Gorda Florida or even further away people in Lee or Sarasota counties donate to this worthwhile non-profit it serves many people from all walks of life with low cost classes, an exercise facility, entertainment etc and a couple of shops and two restaurants too.

After our lunch at only five bucks a piece, mine, seafood Newburgh over rice pilaf and a side salad, and Hubby’s lunch of a sausage sandwich with fruit salad on the side. We shared our salads and had once again brought in our own waters, thus the deal; very tasty.

For dinner tonight I had planned out broiled salmon for tonight early. (Oddly enough, I had decided on it yesterday due to trying to be as different as possible for tomorrow’s dinner plans of the brisket. I do know that I had fish for lunch too, but with me that is doubly fine.) We had bought the salmon on sale at Publix on our last shopping spree and also acquired sweet potatoes and the makings for my Caesar salad with my own Caesar dressing, low cal and still delish!

We do try to eat healthy and we used to buy salmon more often, but have you seen those prices lately?

Any-who, we buy it when it does go on sale like all our other meals are, planned that way, you know, and I bet you do it too.

After we left the Cultural Center we did go all the way down to the Visual Arts Center of Punta Gorda, not far from Fisherman’s Village, actually across from their exit, to see their offerings and they always have showings from local artists which is very nice, they also have classes there and prizes are given for their work and displayed along side their works.
We got there just in time since they were closing by two P.M. I suppose due to the holidays.
It did leave us enough time to scurry through; oh did I mention that it is a free venue? Well, it is.

From there on our way home Hubby stopped in Publix for a couple of odds and ends, a red onion, eggs, and extra virgin olive oil, we sure go through a lot of that. Anyway, fortunately it was buy one get one free, since it is usually way too expensive and we try to buy it at Sam’s Club, where it is much cheaper, but as you have it we did forget the last time that we were there.

On another night of much too much ‘TMI’, allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and to ask you kindly to count all your blessings and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

PS I had an email from ole chum again and they found out that her dear sweet mom’s leg arteries are way too small for their experimental procedure and so they are on a wait and hold once again, and she did wish us a Happy Passover/Easter and we wished them a Happy Easter, because that’s the way we roll… and for me that is literarily, my scooter silly’s!
