The day went rather well...almost all day, and then...

This morning Hubby and I had a nice breakfast here at the homestead and decided that we would definitely be going to the Greek Festival locally.
We had a few things to do around here before they opened at eleven A.M. anyway, when the fest was scheduled to start.
We arrived around eleven thirty since we tried cashing a small five dollar rebate check Hubby received from when he bought anti-freeze/coolant for our car. Oddly enough our branch of Bank of America that we hadn’t been to in a while was no longer there, closed, we had pulled up to the drive-thru and then we thought perhaps to just go to the ATM but they no longer existed!
A wee bit upsetting, but we have two more in county and we think it was just this one and so we hope.
Any-who, Hubby was smart enough to get some cash from the grocery yesterday when we bought the tomatoes so we did have enough for the two dollar each entrance fee and the great Greek lunch that we had and at this point were looking forward to.
Parking was better than last year and most previous years since they set aside a section much larger than previously for handicap spaces. And also the fact that even though the weather was changing for the warmer… this year, they had much of the vendors and specialty food inside in their air-conditioned space that was all brand new and carpeted but with special Saran type plastic over it and it crackled and popped as I road and Hubby or anyone else walked over it sort of like bubble wrap it sounded, yep an oddity!
Many other food people as well as the dessert tents were outside, and so were the shaded tented tables where the live music played or sunny outdoor eating tables.

Hubby and I had Spanakopita (spinach pie), a small Greek salad bowl, Lokaniko on Pita Bread Greek (sausage with tomato onion and Greek sauce) we had our own waters with us, but did opt to share dessert, of course the iconic 'Baklava' and also a piece of Kataiffe, (Shredded Phyllo Pastry filled with chopped nuts in syrup), a big wow, and the next best thing to going there! Greece, that is!
They had young people dancing in the dress of the country, yes they said dress not costumes and the music was quite enjoyable. The festival continues tomorrow from noon to eight P.M. It is at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at 24411 Rampart Blvd. in Port Charlotte Florida and it is their nineteenth year of having it! We have gone nearly every year that we have lived here.

After we left there we came right home and decided that we would roast a whole chicken tonight for dinner which Hubby does on our grill, easy for me to make the small additional things that go with it like veggies and homemade gravy. Well, I was reaching into the produce bin for an onion and some garlic for the gravy and came up and smashed my head into the freezer door…and I have been since putting ice on it twenty minutes on and twenty minutes off and even took four of my 81 mg aspirins, don’t laugh, that’s the only kind we have in the house!
Aside from being a little dizzier than usual and a wee bit more so in pain I suppose I will be okay!
Who knows…hmm?

Any-who, I almost did not write tonight and that would have been a regret for me, missing out on telling you all about our very pleasant day!
So now allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and to ask you all kindly to count all your blessings and share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
