The Phoenix in all of us...

For those living under a rock a Phoenix is: “A phoenix is a mythical bird with a colorful plumage and a tail of gold and scarlet (or purple, blue, and green according to some legends]). It has a 500 to 1000 year life-cycle, near the end of which it builds itself a nest of twigs that then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix or phoenix egg arises, reborn anew to live again.” Thanks to Wikipedia.com for a clarification.
Most of us know a bit about the Phoenix rising anew from the flames to live again and I am sure that during our life spans we all have at one time or another felt a smidge as if we too have to risen above all that had set us metaphorically ablaze!

I know a gal currently who happens to have graduated from the University of Phoenix and also who happens to be a Phoenix herself, since Leukemia and Progressive Multiple Sclerosis has not kept her from rising above those flames that would engulf many of us others… since her inner strength also has her dealing with her own husband that is also disabled and that she has proven her metal over and over again as they both are each others’ caregivers… some people are just sooo amazing, literarily!
But they do not stand alone although their circumstances are unique unto them, sadly there are too many others.
Many I know, right this minute, are also dealing daily with caring for family or friends in many difficult incomprehensible daily challenges and rise above to continue on to the next day, miraculously?

No, not at all, unless you consider that the all mighty never gives anyone more than they can handle; then I suppose divinity has a hand in all of it.

Do you know something?
Until you are tested one never knows what their true capabilities are.
We are all more than we suspect, for this I am more than sure; daily we see examples that prove this.

Why I have two other Facebook friends that have lost loved ones, one a few years ago, a spouse and another just recently, her son. Incredibly horrendous life altering experiences, but they called upon the things that make us; us… strength, resilience, perseverance and the need to go on for ourselves and others who love us…
WE ARE ALL PHOENIXES!
In the mythological bird type of rising from the deaths of misery to go on and on…no matter what.
All of us have horrendous experiences at one time or another in our lives which we think, in the moment all is lost… but in reality it’s never ever the case.
Someone cares somewhere you must find them or that person within yourself to go on.
We all have that courage; sometimes it is just deeper inside than we realize, but we can draw on it we reach far enough.

Daily I hope and pray that I too will find the Phoenix in me, since I am up and then down and spun all around and then I think of my Texan pal and say to myself that I can do this if she can too.
Life is not easy when things are going smoothly but throw some crap (cringe factor, but that’s what it all is, hmm?) into the mix and we sure need to think on how to do it better that is to try harder to think of ways to mind our settings of our brains working overtime creating havoc with our personal issues in life… that we all have!

And so on this first night of Chanukah let me be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and to ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all those overages and we will too!

Happy Chanukah to all who celebrate!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

Which way will the war go?
