When we flirt with being gutsy, we...

MUST FOLLOW THROUGH!
Who am I to talk about this, these days, really?
I talk a good game but rarely… no wait that’s not true, I DO FOLLOW THROUGH!
That’s why I don’t make ridiculous promises to anyone else or myself, hmm?
We all know that’s the true way to commit to success; to tell everyone that you are going to do something that is a sure thing and then do it!
Now Santa’s been busy with checking all those lists and Mom’s and Dad’s of children who celebrate Hanukkah have had their work cut out for them too, why we get eight days of presents for those of us of that persuasion. Who said Christmas was more fun, hmm?
Uh oh, am I making a comparison of whose holiday is better than whose, and I promised that I wouldn’t and I really shouldn’t!
Gosh, most other faiths do have a difficult time competing with all the hoopla of Christmas, never mind about getting to stay up late Christmas Eve to go to that midnight mass!
Hanukkah’s got gelt (money) and dreidls (tops) and all those glittering candles one for each night that the original oil lasted, eight miraculous days in all; thus the eight gifts!
And lately, less I forget we have had some pretty nifty funny Hanukkah songs, thanks to Adam Sandler and others…and so we are good too!
So what if staying up past midnight is such a big deal… we get a sure thing, of eight gifts!
Teasing all of you, hmm?
Now we all can see how holidays cause conflict, but we mustn’t let them.
I always try to go back to a very wise program that taught my sons when they were small and I was exhausted keeping up with them and so at times, dare I say, I allowed it to be a built in baby sitter…Sesame Street! I was free for an hour…!
Yes, one of their knowledgeable characters stated that people are like flowers and that they come in all different sizes, shaped and colors, which makes them all beautiful in their own ways!
The same can be said about most organized religions; oops I said most!
Well, to be fair the ones that teach hatred I am definitely against; hypocrite; no, not ever, selective and honest. I say what I mean.

Moving on...
We left our small, but adequate compound once again today.
Our motivation or mission was to go to Jo-Anne’s Fabric and Crafts store to attempt to purchase fleecy fabric to make a throw for the guestroom, a cheerful lime green was on sale for $4.99 a yard! Even at two yards that puts it under the twenty bucks most cost, and the only difference here is that you ask them to cut the right size of fabric for you, and voila, you got a throw! I changed my mind after Hubby carried the bolt of fabric around for my search of stencils for another project that too did not pan out…
He suggested trying Michael’s Crafts, and so we decided to put back the fleece and move on, there was plenty and the sale is on until Saturday.
And so we went over to Michael’s with the stencil plan, but they were quite a bit more than I was willing to spend, small ones started at four bucks and graduated sizes went way up to over twenty dollars! And besides, none were the effect that I wanted to create, a spa look in my bathroom over my pedestal sink and under my oval mirror, we have left over tiles that I would paint with my acrylics that I am fairly well stocked with.
An idea that only due to my fear of free handing the design did not work, because none of the stencils full-filled my brain’s image of what I wanted, stumped.
Moving around in circles in their art department which is quite extensive I found an entirely different concept that might work…floral transfer rubs.
I have never done it before, but they were within budget, and the package had many choices within it and so it was a sale!
Once I begin, with Hubby’s help, he’s the tile guy… we still have all the equipment from when he did all our ceramic tile floors and subway tile bath surround in my girly bathroom when doing our rebuild. His bath was an insert, a one piece shower stall, his floor is also ceramic tile, but someday I would love to see some nice masculine tile for his shower too!

Any-who, I suppose I was too quick to put that fleece back we have chilly fifties at night here, oh yes we do have central heat just like air-conditioning, but sometimes you need an in between way to stay comfy when switching the electric (heat) on seems like overkill, an extra blanket is just the right thing, hmm?
Have to get back to Jo-Anne’s or Hubby might be better off going by himself; I slow him down.

On that idea to do something as a complete follow through, allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and to ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages and we will too!
Hanukkah is in only six days, while Christmas is in ten, gotcha, beat ya, kidding! (We celebrate both anyway!)

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
PS American SOLDIERS welcome home!
