An update and mish mash of other things...

With all the things that have been happening these last few days with people and my reaction to their actions I almost forgot to tell you that our replacement knives arrived about a week ago from Farberware!
Brand new and no delivery charge just exactly what they promised and so to me that proves that some companies are true to their customers with lifetime warrantees on their products, refreshing, right?

Now more than ever we must unite in consumer logical responsibility.
That’s not to say in our pasts that we should ever not take the conscientiousness of following up on products’ claims and holding those manufacturers to task on them.
Quality control is why this is important and when we lapse at these not making sure that these American products are as good as they should be they and we become lesser than what we as domestic consumers need to or should want to have in our possession, true?

I know some may hesitate with our economy in such a massive mess.
But perhaps some of it may have been caused by not maintaining our excellence in that production?
It’s not only the fact that products are being made abroad and outsourced but that our higher paid manufacturing teams have not been up to our once superior par?
Sometimes I just wonder why we have gotten to where we are today.
And the blame goes all over the place but rarely do I hear us taking the culpability for our own undoing; just a thought, huh?

Today, I received an email from my email pal ‘Oprah’, yep the OPRAH, and her new show on her new cable channel is beginning tonight at eight with Rosie O’Donnell’s show right after, I believe.
You all have probably seen the ads, right?
RO & O, tonight on OWN.
Unfortunately, (Or fortunately in our minds) we gave up cable back in 1995, when our two sons were gone and on their own, we also found out on this coast we could not have an ala cart menu of programming like we had over there on the east coast.
Logically would you pay for what you didn’t want or need?
And to be honest all these years we have not missed it.
We get movies delivered to our home from Blockbuster and news and weather on the networks and with CNN and the Weather Channel on here or even we can rent shows too that are on cable from the Sci-Fi or History channels or what-have-you.
So we feel we miss not a thing!
Every time I get these little note worthy emails from Ms. Winfrey I write back sorry I don’t have cable and just today I wished her luck as well, as if she really sent it to me and as if she really reads what I send back, ha!

Now this might seem a wee bit harsh and I could be way off track here, but why does Ms. Winfrey believe that all her past viewers automatically have cable or satellite or whatever it takes to receive her new station’s programming?
All those years she told her audiences to be the best they could be and do what is right for them and live within their means, than why would she become rather elitist in believing that everyone has and can afford to have cable or satellite or whatever it takes to receive her station’s programming?
She who believes that humble beginnings now are a choice and can be changed by mindset and desire?
Millions here in America, right now, today many have other more important priorities like medical bills, medicine or food and just are trying to pay rent or a mortgage to save their homes, hmm? And cable may be something on the back burner or find they can manage fine without it, contrary to some people’s opinions, hmm?
I think back to when I discussed those shacks/homes with the caddies (Cadillac’s) out front and cable TV inside, it’s your priorities stupid! I feel like yelling to all those people who think that having cable is essential in life while they profess to not ever watching TV anyway, since they prefer to go out to enjoy life or to read or what have you, but have those sixty inch flat screens? How odd, hmm?

Hypocrites, I find are the most creative in telling you what YOU should have and why.
Not to say that about Ms. Oprah Winfrey, because we Americans love this woman, and sincerely I do too.
Why wouldn’t I?
She is magnificent in her ability to help the downtrodden in every way imaginable she is truly a person to emulate and she appears to have the Midas touch in her business acumen!
What a down to earth, great icon of this world we are all better for knowing her...
It’s just that we don’t have cable and we are fine with that, that’s all and no nasty comments please, it is by choice, and we could afford it if we wanted it and took the channels they want us to have, but we want to pick and choose like we used to be able to; you know what I mean?
We had cable in NJ from when it came out until 1995 here in Florida on the east coast and so we know all about it and we had HBO, CINEMAX, DISNEY, CNN the Weather Channel, National Geographic and such, all those so-called premium channels and loved and enjoyed them with our sons while they grew up.
And it was a package deal and logically priced then, according to what you wanted.

All I know is that we are free here in America to make choices and no matter what your social-economic situation is at any given time in life we all have the ability to decide what is best for our particular family and no one can decide that for us! TA DA!

So on that note of much confusion, I surely hope not…aw shucks… sorry!
Allow me to be the first to wish you all to have a very happy good night and to ask you to kindly to count all your blessings and to share all your overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
