Hope this works!

Today was another frustrating day.
Oh, let me clarify, no one was what I would consider mean to me or even Hubby, but no one was totally able to figure out what was wrong…
Did I forget to mention?
The problem today was our server not our computer and not my feelings, except for not being able to communicate with my FB pals.
Any-who, it appears that has been happening all day long and I spent hours on the phone with Century Link at first after an hour and half determined that our DSL was up to speed and so it was not their problem, but were kind enough to give me Norton’s phone number since they felt that we may have been invaded and for those who are not familiar with Norton they are our anti-virus company.
In spite of last night doing a full virus scan and defragging after and clearing out our history Century Link felt I should have them test us for unwanted invasions and take over our computer like they have before to eerily accomplish from their location in India my computer’s ability to once again be our family member with access to the world and beyond!
Well, not really beyond, but you know what I mean, huh?
Norton sent me to their site that has the ability to take over my computer and to do its magic and make us well again; gosh wouldn’t that be great if doctors could do that?
Oh well, but I must get back to the story…
Long nah the short of it all was that they could not be accessed since the computer was taking twenty minute to download their eraser program which is only 84 gigabytes and in those twenty minutes it did only 20 SECONDS of the 40 minute 50 second download… I felt like shouting ‘Houston we have a problem!”
But I restrained myself.
What it eventually boiled down to after another hour and a half on the landline was that the server was more than like WRONG and it was their problem since by process of elimination the Norton tech was able to determine and so I was told to call them back and let them know it was on their end!
Century Link was not absolutely sure with their first tier person and so after a little this and that he did seem to think that something was not Kosher and so he said that it was coming up, where I knew not where, but that someone else nearby us was also telling them they too were having the same situation of no access to things like mail, or surfing or poking or accessing any little thing that comes up on their Facebook page, well my poking comes and goes… too weird, who knows?
And so he felt that his second tier guy should take a look at this.
So I was handed over to the more informed one?
I have no idea what that meant, but he said that we were not alone…hmm, I knew that, since first tier just told me that someone in my area, perhaps a mile or two away was also suffering from computer malfunctioning server syndrome.
Can I coin a phrase or what?
Odd situation calls for odd people to name them, huh?
Moving on the low down turned out that tier two, Mike, said that he was going to send the problem over to engineering and that it should be fixed within two business days?
I said but its Saturday, he knew that.
I got pouty, but he couldn’t see it and I said the obvious, so this means not until Tuesday?
He said he would try for sooner but that they were short handed and that they have a minimal crew on the weekends!
I played the news card and said…” I saw on the news not too long ago where Century Link left a bunch of seniors down in Collier County somewhere without service for about a month and when they finally came it took like two minutes to fix it.”
Dirty, under handed me… oh and I even mentioned I write a blog, double dirty with a cherry on top! Shame on me.
And so he checked and sure enough he had said he would see what the situation was and call me back within the hour, and he did within forty-five minutes, actually, a man of his word, refreshing!
I was relieved for the break since by the time we got done it was eleven thirty and I had been on the phone for this problem since seven A.M.!

When he called he said that the problem was bigger than just two of us more than one hundred in Port Charlotte were also suffering the computer malfunctioning server syndrome too! And so he said it has become a priority and that they would try to have it fixed within twenty four hours, hooray!

My underhanded devil made me do it way of not working my magic but could be off putting to some was not needed in the long-run, only the facts, just the facts m’am!

On that bit of slap happy hopeful desire to be amongst the computer peeps online real soon…allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and to ask you kindly to count all your blessings and share all those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
