Green Futures Expo today!

Gosh, we found something to do and did it!
Charlotte Harbor Event & Conference Center had the Green Futures Expo and it was really, really there. Not like that garage sale and I do believe I should let you know that I never did hear back from them, by the way…
Vendors of forty-eight strong were inside and out of the facility which did really, really run from ten A.M to three P.M. today and only today.
Many of those same vendors, to be honest, seem to follow the trail of these expos, shows, trade fairs as if that is their lot in life. I do believe it is, and we all realize that it is the best way to actually have contact with us, the consumers all at once, for those suppliers bombard us with the newest and latest to hawk their wares, and we go and learn, order or buy and to all parties involved it can be a win, win situation.

The only thing is… now I don’t mean this in a bad way… but many were vendors that were also at the home shows…not that there is anything wrong with that.
This was for the purpose of helping/showing us how to be or know about new innovations in the green initiative that we all know are necessary to be better stewards of this planet, correct?
Many tried and true pursuers of our knowledge to maintain a healthy toxic free lifestyle were all there including the Environmental Protection Agency for our state that took my picture while being handed a box full of goodies that were handy ‘green’ items, a low flow sprayer for your faucet, a fabric tote with their logo of course, shami cloth, a tablet that when used can help to check to see if your toilet tank is leaking and a new fluorescent light bulb with low mercury that should last 12000 hours! And so what does one do when their picture gets taken for who knows why, promotion I would venture to say… you take their pictures in retaliation! And here they are:

Terry Cerullo EPA Ombudsman, community outreach and Jon M. Iglehart also EPA but Director of District Management, South District.

Waste management’s Donna handed us another fabric tote but unique in the new color of an apple green and it is rather large with the ability to turn into a back pack!
I also was able to acquire a small blue plastic Frisbee toy for Skipper our Bichon from the Edison State College, our local branch booth.
All in all it wasn’t exactly the haul of the Oscar's gifts but not bad for doing not a thing to deserve any of it and got us out of the house to live and learn, now isn’t that priceless?

After we left there we moved on to lunch out, yep I said out, apparently my calculations weren’t as tight as I thought since I was able to pay off the credit card charge from the hospital as well as all our other bills and still have money left over for the month…RELIEF!
Oh and we went to Hendricks Deli in Punta Gorda, industrial style, I had a lovely tasty cup of lobster bisque with a side salad and Hubby had a taboo pastrami on rye, but his blood pressure has been under control for a few weeks now and so splurging occasionally is not too, too bad.
He had his second cup of coffee and I had my iced tea unsweet with lemon.
Boring, I suppose, but not to us.
From there we decided to go over to the Antique’s Train Station only a block or two from there, and perused their items and now me with a plan to find an interesting hook for coats/hats/ or sweater hangings.
But no dice, nothing there for that purpose and so after finding out that the newer antique mall a ways away was no longer open and the stores there were all empty we went for a short ride and then to Publix for Hubby’s prescription and some rosemary and hair maintainer for my natural blondness.
On that sillier note, than what you ask?
Than the whole shebang friends … allow me to be the first to wish you a very happy good night and to ask you kindly to count all your blessings and to share your overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

PS January 31st was decided to be our new primary date here in Florida but until registered non-partisans can vote in the primaries I don’t know if I should care or not… what do you think?
