Tag I am it...

Oops gal is at it again.
Senility may be coming sooner rather than later.
When we came home from our yearly veterinarian office visit with our noble canine Skipper a few weeks ago I got a rude awakening.
Yep, sometime in between then (last year) and then (the earlier part of this month) I had tossed his name tag away and foolishly kept his old rabies/license from two years ago with his last year’s rabies/license and so he was well rabies/licensed in duplicate, uh oh and I don’t even work for the government, dud dump dumb, got that? And yes, now he only has the one rabies/license this year’s model on now.
Any-who, and I suppose that I was dually upset, since that was a gift, perhaps the last one that we received from our estranged son, the younger one; small but memorable and because of by who it was from and that saddened me quite a bit.

With us now in the season, that is hurricane, yep, I won’t let it go since it weights heavy on all of us disaster survivors as you can well imagine.

Today, I took it upon myself to find a similar one online and when I recognized the name of a legit company, Doctor Foster and Smith: drsfostersmith.com, on my search and so I went ahead and ordered it. It was only $4.49 on sale, but this one instead of being colored blue like his original one we upgraded to a 14K gold ‘plated’ thus the cheap price in a bone shape, same as the old one. The new one sounds good and looks pretty good too by the picture I chose it from, and it allowed for all of Skipper’s info, address and two phone numbers, cell and home so if he gets lost and then found they can contact us. Crazy as it is the shipping ala FEDEX is more expensive than the whole thing at $5.99 to be delivered in seven business days, and that was the cheapest!

To be fair, Skipper is not a wanderer and never has been, but one never knows does one. Hubby wouldn’t go for the chip, he thinks it’s not safe even after I explained it to him that it is safe, and I kept explaining that it does not hurt the dog or cat or whoever gets them. I think that I heard somewhere that it was being considered for some people with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia that wanders from their homes without I.D. And I would consider it for myself if I needed it, but then I wouldn’t know would I? Not funny!

That or a GPS would be a great idea, but newer phones have that, huh?
Ours are older and so I don’t believe we have that, anyway I hope we don’t get lost!
Our boat has a GPS, but even so we haven’t gotten the new card which allows it to become transferable to our car.

But so far we hardly ever get lost, and if we do, I always remember what dad would say, “The world is round and so we will find our way home eventually!” gotta love the guy.
And I remember when he said that to me.
When my mom took a nap and we were on our trip across country that summer of 1965, and he handed me the map to help navigate and we ended up in Toledo Ohio when we were supposed to be heading towards Amarillo Texas, would you believe?
What can I say I was fifteen and had no idea what I was doing, but I learned fast after that big OOPS! And dad handled it great, and mom was none the wiser.

On that scenic route of an end to another glimpse into the goofy one’s life allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and to ask you kindly to count your blessings and to share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
