Are we there yet?

Words that can make grown men shudder and women too when repeated in a closed car ride for more than an hour…
Oh happy holiday weekends to all and the summer vacations have, I am sure, BEGUN!
Thus the time for all parents to find car-games and songs to sing, or am I way behind the times; since now most of you, I think, might just throw a disc into the Blue-ray backseat amphitheaters and hope that each one of your mini clones has the ability to love all those cinema favs that you chose for the trip, or perhaps you let them have that honor of choice, then you are all set, huh?
Oh no?
Well, I am sure that you all know how to keep the little darlings entertained until you arrive at the relatives, hotel or campsite, right?
With license plate bingo or oldie songs from your era of the 80’s or 90’s; scary that I said that!
Since our oldies are from the fifties and sixties…oh well, the times they are a changing…and have gotten younger old memories, huh?

Ah life on the road can become fun or a nightmare, it’s up to all of you, right?
Take the time to prepare with everyone’s input.
Yes, if your children are in school and quite able to express themselves then I do think they are capable of contributing to the planning, don’t you?

Take it from me, if you think an hour is drawn out without having answers think about driving a few states away, then what you gonna do, when they come for you?
Not the criminals in that jazzy cops show song oh not your own ordinarily nearly non-communitive offspring due to their at home Wii’s or the signal in the vehicle getting lost so not being able to text to their BFF’s or whomever, all I am saying is WATCH OUT, you will not remember that they are truly yours anymore once the power of technology leaves their presence I am so afraid and perhaps you too should be very afraid… or not… I could be wrong.

Unfortunately, those children that I imagine as having to deal with all those techno woes would be around the age of any of my grandchildren, that is if I had any…which sadly I don’t…boo hoo, hoo…

And so, my thoughts for today’s travel with youngsters are a composite made up from my only experiences from TV shows, magazine shows and who knows shows… what-have-you…
Do kids even say that anymore?
You know my title question, “Are we there yet?”
I bet they all do, it has been my experience the more things appear to change; they actually stay the same.
If that isn’t a truism I don’t know what is.
But I have faith in the world and all our youngins too and that means that not only that you will all have the best time ever on your summer vacation is that while traveling there you will find a way to make it a happy memorable experience for all concerned, for this I am more than sure!

Now for an unexpected health update for Hubby and me:
It appears that Hubby’s blood pressure medication has begun to finally control those highs he was getting in the morning as of today it was well within the so-called norms for, ‘blood-pressure’ numbers and for that I say hooray!
Anyone who would like to know is the when the systolic number, the top one, is below 140 and the diastolic, the bottom number, below 90, got that? And Hubby’s both were today for his before his A.M. medication was taken!
And for me it is a little bit more tricky since I am having my pseudo diabetic reactions, yesterday my glucose was 184, but after I had some meat and potatoes it went down to 74 within fifteen minutes, scary and feeling very odd.
I had a couple of those delish cookies the kids brought those chocolate ones that were oh so sweet…that alone should tell you something, huh?
Any-who, it dropping and I did not even consider taking any insulin, which by the by I still have in the fridge for just in case…
Today it was up to 204 for nearly an hour and so I called my friendly, ask-a-nurse being its Sunday and all, why does all this seem to always happen to me on the weekends, I do wonder why that it… anyway…
This time she did feel I should take the four units of insulin recommended at this glucose level to take since I did have it available and all, but to have crackers and peanut butter with me in case it dropped so low again.
But Hubby thought I should wait a while longer and I did and it was a good thing since it did go down all by itself without any intervention to 134!
Is this too weird or what?
I really don’t know what to make of it…hmm…

And so here I sit confused but none the worse for wear as the expression goes and so with that slight note of positivity let me be the first, and tonight I think that I may very well be, due to the early hour in my time zone… have a very happy good night and kindly count those blessings and share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

PS Good luck and remember they are not returnable!
