Being an open book is not what it's cracked up to be, huh?

How many times have you said that to someone that you are a person without secrets and that you believe it is the right way to be?
As far as I go I must have said that too many to count times over the years and as you can well imagine it has created havoc with my family being way too blatantly honest.
Sure we all on occasion say things that we regret later but do many do things too?
I seem to.
For instance… for the first time in our married lives when we bought this house back in December of 1998 as a definite fixer upper we knew that I was not well and already had not been working for a couple of years due to many months at a time having to be in rehab with my inability to walk for as long as six months at a time.
As I said this tiny gem that we transformed into what has evolved into over the many years, but that is not what I was going to say, sorry I got off track…
Any-who, it was the first time that I felt with me not working or financially investing in the home that Hubby’s name should be the only one on the mortgage, crazy, I know!
And over the years it has created so much aggravation, and this is our fifth home and only one that I didn’t feel that I should be named on the mortgage in forty years of marriage…I know, whatever was I thinking of? Plain stupid of me, the one who has been the money manager and bill payer person in this relationship making us have great credit ratings due to keeping it all on a timely basis, huh?
This issue has created ridiculous angry conversations with our bank who holds the mortgage and that has changed over the many years several times, and always the same problem with the same questions that YOUR HUSBAND must take care of this issue, and so after giving them our relationship history and a piece of my mind and with me I have little to spare, ha, I will usually turn the phone over to Hubby!
And he will sternly tell them to talk to me.
This was ridiculously crazy when we were hit by the hurricane back 2004 and he was still working and I was handling the insurance companies, monies being dispersed had to go through our bank too then and all for organizing the repairs!
Today was just another sad reminder of those times.
You see with the new lower amount of the coverage on our insurances for flood and homeowners we were sent the overage checks paid out by the bank and so it showed that we had a $242.50 shortfall in the escrow and so to have the lower, two dollars a month lower payment not a twenty dollars more payment we used the monies that were returned to us to pay the shortfall in person yesterday morning around eleven A.M. at the bank.
And electronically it did show up as a withdrawal from our account from the bank we deal with which just so happens to be the same bank for our loan and all other accounts!
But oddly enough when I went to the loan section online it did not yet appear there or anywhere; today a day later!
And so I called the bank and this is when the whole issue ensued over my rights to know if it was credited to our account. The fact that I wrote the check and put the account number on it including that it was for the escrow shortfall in the memo I thought was enough, since online you can see your deposited checks front and back, and it was all there! Including my signature with Hubby’s and my name on the front of the check with the address of the loan, our home!
But still this man and then his supervisor who I insisted on speaking with would not tell me if our check had been put into the escrow to adjust our new discounted monthly payment by those two infamous dollars! I did say something like this is the twenty-first century and I was insulted that they had to talk to my husband like I was a second class citizen! I also said it was like a racist comment that his wife was not capable to know this their state secrets of our account! She asked if Hubby was there and with my loud talking I suppose I woke him since it was just after eight A.M. and he came in and once again he told the woman to talk to me! Sometimes security is not right, ya know? I told them our account number and any other info they needed and so that should have been sufficient.
PS since what I just said is all true I may even divulge the name of the bank after I explain why we didn’t just add my name on to the mortgage and not go through all this bologna time after time… well it seems that they have decided that we would have to go through another closing with all that entails paperwork and money-wise, and so not so cost effective and that is why we have decided against this stupid thingy that is their policy!
And yes, Hubby had to send a note, which I being the writer actually did write for him and he signed years ago just so I could handle things after the advent of the hurricane.
But this woman said for all changes they still have to go through him and so I suppose another note is in order, huh?
I do believe that is what we will be doing probably this weekend!
You know though there are so many gaps in us having to deal with this bank I suppose that we soon forget this garbage at this renowned bank, Bank of America causes.
Others have complained to me about them and we have complained to them about them, but they are unperturbed and I suppose we should have changed banks years ago, but we have things available that I won’t go into and so I guess it serves us right …most would have left the fold way long ago but now it would just be so complicated…I know a lame excuse, huh?

On that not so funny experience but I am pretty sure relatable to others even if not on the same particular incident issue… Let me be the first to wish you all a very happy good night to all and to ask you to kindly count those blessings and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
