Mistakes

We are all fallible which gives us as human beings the right to goof up at times and on occasions that can come in the form of one heck of a big one!
Today I was shown something rather funny in retrospect.
A large discount store known worldwide had a picture of a ham and written over it the suggestion as being perfect for Hanukah and only $6.29 a pound!
Talk about one big one, ooops!
But even though I think many will find it quite hysterical that they in this twenty-first century and politically correct world we live in could make such an enormous mistake, and a whoper of a faux pas!
Although, many people who are of the Jewish faith do eat ham on occasion but to suggest that it should be eaten for such a holiday as Hanukah to some may be considered insulting, and at first that was my initial response too.
But then once I calmed down I thought how funny it really was!
And I am sure once the company is straightened out they will apologize and set it straight, but tis the season to make not such big deals out of other people's silly mistakes, which I truly believe this was.

Any-who...
Nora Ephron was interviewed on CBS This Morning, today discussing her newest book about forgetfulness, she is also the author of Sleepless in Seattle and Julie and Julia to name only a few of her all well renowned movies, the list is staggering, but I am sure most of you are familiar with them. The discussion was about ‘failure’, and the fact that we all do it and we don’t learn from it but we move on from it which is not to say we won’t do it again. Unfortunately most of us let it overshadow our successes. But here I go again… another commonality!
TA DA! It must be that human thing we all do.

No one who has lived their life to the fullest and continues to will have smooth sailing all of the time; all any of us can really do is pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and start all over again! Isn’t that a song lyric? Where’s kitty-kat when I need her input or Andrea or even Lee, the maestro?

The fact is that why in all things great do we write, especially in song lyrics about having these ups and downs in life?
Because they are what make us, us!
And it is universal, not just here in the state of Florida or United States of America or North America but worldwide, and that is what makes this so absolutely incredible in my mind about sharing it all!
At least that’s the conclusion that I have come to over and over again!
People love to hear about successes in life, but we also need to know that sometimes it was not all smooth sailing arriving where you eventually did, correct?

Falling down too is not unusual, in this particular case I mean metaphorically not literally which unfortunately I did used to do, but now I have my walker! LOL…

Moving on…
Mistakes are inevitable in life sooner or later. It is a rare duck that you hear about who never made any! And not to be crude or rude but I really think that a person would be lying don’t you if they said they never ever made any?
Why is it so hard for some people to own up to it or just admit they made a mistake, could it be embarrassment or fear of being called on it too harshly?
Perhaps, we as a world community have to remember that no one is perfect and teach our children it’s OK to not be soooo perfect! Less of them will be needing counseling later in life.
And unless a situation has to do with life and death we should all be more forgiving.
Although, some religious folks even forgive that too.
Maybe someday I could be that forgiving, but I don’t know and since I have not been in that position, thankfully; I really don’t know what I would do.

Mistakes in general on the job or in the home or even with telling your children something those can be easily rectified once you own up to them and take charge and try hard with sincerity to fix them. If they are not fixable and not earth shattering then let it go…
Most blunders in life are just that an error in judgment at that particular time.

No, I did not make a big mistake today, but the day isn’t over yet!
I was not socializing today I took it easy; since I am still trying hard to feel better.

On that note of bucking up the world with myself too or at least trying to I will wish you all a very happy good night and to all count those blessings and share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, OK?
