Bichon Buzz and did you see the one about...

Many of you who may read this Blog regularly, I hope that you do, anyway, you may know that we have a Bichon Frise, who is an all white curly haired lap dog, which is what his breed name means in translation, and his name is Skipper who will be six years old in March.
But how many of you who may also have Bichons know that the racing around the room or outside is called the Bichon Buzz? Copy and paste this site if interested in more info:

We used to call it his ‘Greyhound mode’, because he is that fast and circles several times, but he looks nothing like a Greyhound at all.

Well, we have been wondering what to make of it all these years since we have met other Bichon owners who stated their little darlings also did that odd behavior periodically throughout the day. And it wasn’t until we took that quick brisk run to that too cold car show that I met someone who took their little Bichon there, ours was home in warmth, and I asked again to make conversation over our liking and having the same breed dogs.

Theirs was also a male but just a year old, and named Rascal, oddly enough the same name as our son’s cat.

Just the name alone is telling that perhaps he too was up to this racing around the house and yard and all furniture, doodads, remote control sailboats be damned if they be in the way; and you should watch out too! And sure enough theirs also was a definite on that display regularly and they are the ones that finally put the name to it, why on earth had no others?
It is not a mean spirited behavior in our Skipper’s case anyway, for he does seem very joyous and happy with himself, and when I admonish him to stop or slow down at least, he does appear offended by my bizarre reaction to his fun as if he were a human child just trying to have some harmless self imposed entertainment.
But he has been known to bounce off walls and coffee tables alike!
My only fear is not for the walls or the coffee table, but for him getting injured.
We had to move Hubby’s hobby remote control sailboat into the guest room for safety, since it had been displaced on its easel in the sunroom with its controller, which is in the cabinet above this computer armoire; that’s still here and still safe.

This weather that I did try hard not to discuss tonight, since I suppose we are all in the same boat; we watched movies, did some laundry and called in for some take out Chinese food, which does deliver!
We started watching the mini series Taken last night; so far we have finished off discs one and two. For those of you not familiar with the premise it is about alien invasions and we being taken for who knows what reasons, over many, many years, Roswell New Mexico, Vegas, Illinois and elsewhere are all part of the backdrop locations as well. It starts out in WWII, and we have just finished, so far 1970. It’s a Spielberg, and has familiar cast members from other things, so we are enjoying it.

Good night to all and to all count those blessings and we will too!

Which way will the war go?
