Warning!

I don't want to alarm any of you, but...did you know that prepared boxed biscuit mix does not make good pizza dough?

Well, it doesn’t, it crumbles, even with canola oil in it, yep I found out the hard way…thought I had a great idea, which at times I do have but tonight it was almost as bad as when I was a young working bride and defrosted TV dinners so they would be ready for dinner that night. Yes, I left them out on the counter to defrost. In those days we didn’t know anything about salmonella we defrosted everything that way, pre-microwave days. It’s amazing that we are still here.

Oddly enough Hubby ate it but I settled on yesterday’s bean soup; my wonda drug for what ails you! Hope he is OK, what a dear sweet man to eat that mess! Presently it is still sitting atop the stove with me debating on whether or not to toss it or save it for him?

To my good I scraped it off the pizza pan and decided to put it in a square cake pan with added dry milk and water and set the oven on very hot, 450 for twenty minutes when placed in it. Actually, I even cut up onions, garlic, sweet peppers to mix into it in layers, with mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce with mushrooms and additional spices of oregano and basil. In reality it didn’t taste real bad it was the consistency that was unusual and weird, crumbly.

It was definitely high time that I should have a cooking disaster it has been quite awhile, so I was due!

And I bet that you all have had a few of those lulus yourselves at one time or another, huh? Be honest, everyone has.

It has been my experience to always have a backup plan in those situations, suggestion…take out menus placed conspicuously with cook books or in the junk drawer; backup soups too will work. You can’t cook for nearly forty years without a few interesting stories.

That was the most interesting thing that happened today…in a way that’s good, if you know what I mean?

So I will wish you all a good night, take care, be safe and count those blessings of yours and I will still look for mine.
