Monday, Monday can't stand that day...

We all have dreaded at one time or another going back to school or work on Mondays, right?
Interestingly enough though when you get to the point of retirement the days and weekends are pretty much all the same except for TV programming. It’s a bit like an endless vacation or holiday, which if not careful can become boring!

I know; who would have thunk it?
It can happen when you have very few or no plans at all.
This retirement thing is more difficult than many might think.
It takes a lot of work to stay or try in our cases to stay away from doctors and hospitals, but as we all know is often inevitable.
You must keep flexible in your body and mind!
Now this part is tricky…since when we get older we also have no, no’s, not unlike two year olds do; which mainly pertains to things one cannot or should not do.
I have a short list:
1. Don’t get up too fast… even if you have never been dizzy, you might become and fall and then break a hip and end up dead or worse in a coma. And there goes the brain and body in one foul swoop! Since most medical professionals feel this is not a curable ailment and therefore not a profit maker; watch out!
2. Also watch where you walk indoors and out, make sure it is well lit, since more seniors everyday are considered easy prime targets as victims of violent crimes; watch out always carry a weapon with you…recommended is a flashlight, but make sure its big enough to do some good but not too heavy; who needs to cause bursitis; whack!
3. Now three, is making sure that your spectacles are functioning with both eyes at their very optimal and always ask at the library for the large print issues of all printed material.
Why, you say? You had Lasik and Cataract surgeries and your eyesight has never been better, you see like a kid, sympathy of course! Seniors dwell on that with children and grandchildren miles and miles away we need a willing ear to listen when we complain!
4. Don’t drive a vehicle. You ask why? Especially when your eyesight is 20/20 and your reflexes are as sharp as a twenty year’s old, because this way when the traffic accident numbers go up we cannot be blamed!

Now I recommend that you don’t listen to or do anything that I have just said but if you really must know, remember that an idle mind can be quite creative and that is why I write this…
STUFF... for my own and hopefully others' entertainment.

On this silly note I will bid you all a good night and to all laugh, love and live whatever way is best for you and yours and hurts no one else in the process!

So count those blessings, be safe, take care, and as long as we can find our funny bone we can go on… and that’s Tobi’s orders!

Which way will the war go?
