Enjoying nosiness...

I am looking out of our sunroom window across the canal at the home adjacent to our Canadian friends, who are up north right now. Their neighbor to their right facing us, which would be our left view, is installing some brackets onto his home at the roof line and this was started yesterday.
I’m guessing it is an additional screen porch; they are from New England and seem to enjoy many screening rooms. They have one on the front and one on the side of their home.
We learned fairly early on that the screen rooms are nice but harbor much mildew due to our high humidity, and so with the three homes that we have owned in Florida in the twenty-three years we have been here, we made those bonus rooms into additional enclosed air-conditioned rooms.
Oh well, perhaps they prefer them, but the one fact most newbie northerners forget when you live by moving water like a saltwater canal that goes directly to a harbor like ours does, mosquitoes are thankfully a rarity!

Pet peeves abound: I can’t understand people who think that your way of life is no good, because it doesn’t jive with their ways of thinking. Most people live beyond their means that is a fact, and was proven most recently by what has happened in our economy, and have to work harder to catch up or compete. What’s wrong with living below or within your means and accepting that and enjoying the simplicity of it all?

Not to say that we live in the woods in a tent or with an outhouse, we have more than enough of our creature comforts met, and I feel we live quite well.
Perception, I am very low maintenance, as they say, for I never ask for materialistic things or feel that I need them, but that is not to say we don’t have them we have an inground pool, and a boat and live on a canal that goes straight to the harbor.
We are fortunate at this point in our lives to realize what is truly important though; waking each morning and having someone who truly cares about you.

News clip this evening happened to mention how helpful water exercise is for Multiple Sclerosis and there is a free class being taught not far from here in the city of Cape Coral in Lee County, not far from Fort Myers. Well, I have known that for years since I am a certified Aquacize instructor for all these years and I did actually teach for about four years locally I stopped in 2001 when I had to have hand surgery, but if was through the Arthritis Foundation that I received my certification, and it was open to anyone who needed that sort of thing including people with MS. And so for the last several weeks I have been back in our pool three times a week and giving myself my own class for some days nearly as long as two hours but mostly over an hour, pretty good if I do say so myself, and I do! Our swimming season here is pretty long since we are in the southwestern part of our state, as long as November sometimes with using our solar panels to keep it at the optimal temperature, around 85 or so.

People out there if you are reading this I do thank you profusely, and will wish you all a good night and take care, be safe, and count your blessings and mine are coming closer to my reality!

PS: Our neighbor stopped his construction, but he still works during the day he is younger than us and this is his after work project, and so he probably is having dinner by now.
