I found the stats that make us all crazy and I found them to be obscene

Shock therapy… let’s put it this way if you fall into any of these below groups financially then you are in a very difficult situation and my heart goes out to you…but if you just thought you were poor…this puts it all into perspective and teaches you what financially poor really is:

In 2007, 12.5 percent of all persons lived in poverty. In 1993 the poverty rate was 15.1 percent. Between 1993 and 2000, the poverty rate fell each year, reaching 11.3 percent in 2000. But we all know that sadly the rate over the last two years has gone up significantly, the numbers just aren’t out yet.

In comparison to the rest of our country we, personally, in reality our income is nearly three times the amount stated for two adults with no children, but we are not rich by anybodies standard, but this is just another realization that things could be a whole lot worse, and we are still OK after all! Only wish we knew how to help those others…and wish that we had the ability to come up with the way to lift them up…

In the process of dealing with our reality of minimal problems we somehow forgot about the others, people who really do have life hard, but somehow know how to manage in spite of it or perhaps some could be soured by their situation. Though what I have heard more times than not many down trodden individuals find solace in helping each other, and I do know that has worked for me in the past emotionally. Helping other has an uncanny way of getting you to forget about your own problems. You see, though this time I really am in somewhat of a dilemma of being between a rock and a hard place since I longer can drive, and walking is another issue too, but one of my favorite sayings is: where there is a will there is a way.
I will have to figure it out; if I can, I definitely will try; that perseverance thing again.
I won an award for perseverance in my senior year in high school from the Berkeley Business School for business acumen.
But when I feel the most helpless in life I call upon those guts of trial and error and fearlessness to work in all other circumstances, and it does seem to help!

If you recall I began this Blog tonight with the facts of poverty, but that is the monetary dry numbers not the cost of peoples needs and lives and loves and education et all.
Most impoverished people do have programs available to help them but many are too uneducated or not aware to know how to access them; thus the dropping the ball theory and how it continues generationally.

There are not enough people involved governmentally to aid individuals to get to those resources. All in all it seems to be a part of our American landscape if you know where to look, and aren’t fearful to go to those locations. We all know about the negativity of gangs and ghettos, but these things are nothing new, all nationalities of people have had gangs and ghettos throughout the history of the world. The reality of history is that we do repeat it, and sometimes the most unfortunate parts of it; there goes the most contentious statement that: we study history so we don’t repeat it!

On that thought provoking topic I will bid you all good night, be safe, take care, and count those blessings…while mine are becoming more tangible each day!
