“Pulling the plug”, is an old expression with a very negative connotation, right?
Well, you are all correct.
This time we are hearing it being used with the Cash for Clunkers program, which will be coming to a complete halt about a week earlier than originally thought to be, this coming Monday.
That’s the way the 3 billion dollars crumble I suppose. Easy come easy go…bottomless pockets…us taxpayers…
Who didn’t hear Massachusetts’s District 4 Congressman Barney Frank’s response to the meek and rather mild looking woman who asked him the question about referring to the Healthcare Reform Bill, “Why are you supporting this Nazi Policy?” His response was, “On what planet do you spend most of your time?” Ya gotta love the guy! He calls ‘em how he sees them! Boy, that un-malicious looking person sure fooled me. I guess that’s where the expression, “looks can be deceiving”; came from.
Just thought I would give you some updates: My tooth problem appears much better, although I had soup for supper,
it couldn’t hurt and it didn’t, that was the idea, LOL!
The young/older, in her 30’s, Olympian hopeful from Naples Florida has made the team!
We were still getting a free paper. If you recall that I had filled out a survey online and the deal was they would give you two weeks of the newspaper for free. I had called them the day that it started and told them after the two weeks we didn’t want it, since it would be an additional expense, but it kept coming and so I called again today and they assured us it would be stopped. We read the paper online every morning, less trees harmed, and it’s free. Fortunately, we do have paper recycling so that’s where it has been going, but it accumulates so fast, and seems like so much too.
When our sons were growing up at home we always got the paper delivered and used to subscribe to National Geographic for years as well. But with the advent of the internet that is more cost effective to just using it as an incredible resource for most all information, and no papers to clean up.
As I write tonight the sky is a hypocritical robin’s egg blue, sunny, and speckled with just a few of a smattering of fluffiness clouds, booming foreboding harangues threaten in the nether land, ah Florida an A-typical evening in August here.
The lawn was mowed and looks truly plush with all of nature’s spillage returning it to the emerald of it normally acceptable luscious tones. This is rainy season in the south and symbolic of what it can produce.
On those fussy and robust words of picturesque speech I will bid you all a pleasant evening, and safe journeys, careful existence, and a blessed nigh, and I will in turn create my own of thy same.
Speaking My Mind is about: Tobi, who is a middle aged, no, oh all right a slightly over the hill woman with all the imperfections that go with that, and this concerns her daily life's perceptions and experiences.
