The rain finally came and our barrel is full once again

Consequentially it was a perfect day for a good movie, and some laundry with a prediction of a 70% chance of rain that turned out this time to be right on target!
Our rain barrel is over full.
Calming and relaxing was the order of the day.
Who can complain?
We watched a film that we had been looking forward to, High School Musical 3.
I must admit that is was lively and musical and had a plot and everything, but for some reason I suppose this format was getting a little too cutesy for my liking, but I endured it to the ending, which was predictable.
No challenge here, but fairly entertaining in a usual Disney way.
Sorry, it could be me.
Sometimes the hype outdoes the actual film.
We all know that.
Any-who, I rationally wouldn’t have been able to compare it to its previous sequels, 1 and 2, so perhaps I was none too harsh when my opinions might be thrown into a mix with the actual teeny boppers who might find it, ‘sick’.

Moving on… tonight will be a usual TV night with the show that my husband calls tear ‘em down and replace them, extreme makeover house show. He and I both are happy that they now salvage some of the homes not so bad parts to recycle or to pass on to Habit for Humanity and that they try to build green these days. Too bad they couldn’t be repaired; some to us didn’t look that bad.
But for a while there it appeared that no home had any value what-so-ever and it was destroyed and a new one would be put in its place.
Usually one so enormous that even without a mortgage I would wonder how these folks would be able to pay the taxes or utility bills?
According to recent info many couldn’t and some are even in foreclosure that I suppose has some kind of mortgage or refinanced to meet the other bills, sad.
Any way they are not unlike many Americans today.
It does do a heart good to see when handicapped people are given easy access, medical bills paid off and children are given scholarships, who could really complain about that, they are all worthy recipients.
Sears and ABC should be given wonderful kudos on such a worthwhile program, which has greater significance in these hard times, and let me not forget all those volunteers who help too, even those builders who do this all out of the goodness of their hearts and some free advertising, oops sorry!

Sadly, our rain came too late to help those several acre forest fires that we had yesterday, the local one was 188 acres and took two homes, and the other south of here was over 300 acres with fortunately no damage to structures, neither harmed any people or pets.

We are eating after I write tonight the opposite of our usual so I will be closing now since the main course is nearly done and I must finish the asparagus to go with the chicken and sweet potatoes of our grill, and yes it has stopped raining, although our grill is protected under our patio cover on our patio so rain never stops us if we care to grill.

So good night to all and to all count those blessings and I will too!
