You do know that is a loaded question when asked by anyone that is: how we actually are.
I always wonder if they mean now at this minute or for the year or last ten, or health wise, or could it be as personal as financially?
In this day and age nothing is sacred.
People are concerned and feel that you should want to talk.
Well, whenever I am asked that question I will answer with way TMI, too much information, you see in my mind they aren’t being just polite, they really want to know about it all.
I know what does that say about me?
Possibly that I might be considered lonely, bored or just not concerned with any privacy at all?
Too be honest it is the two latter statements I would have to say; it’s not like I have state’s secret in my portfolio or anything close to that at all, and that shouldn’t be a secret anyway; remember the Freedom of Information Act and all that.
Any who can anyone tell me in what class on behavioral correctness people were taught to ask that specific non specific question?
I do know that children are taught from a very young age to say please and thank you and any scout troop will reinforce that behavior.
But to train anyone to ask a question that they really honestly don’t need to know the answer or want to know it, to me seems just wrong, you know what I am saying.
So from now on I am declaring for all thinking human beings not to ask a question that they do not care about the answer or outcome of, OK?
To me that would seem so much more honest.
Politeness, be damned!
Honesty is the best policy.
Now that is settled.
All is well again with my dear cousins we all had a pleasant day at the Art Festival then on to a late lunch, and topped the evening off with a few hands of cards.
The day was just right.
And I am very happily pooped.
So I will bid you all a good night and to all count those blessings and I will too.
Speaking My Mind is about: Tobi, who is a middle aged, no, oh all right a slightly over the hill woman with all the imperfections that go with that, and this concerns her daily life's perceptions and experiences.
