Who would have thunk it

How or why would be better to ask on earth did I get this minor annoyance turned into a major discussion with so many people from every walk of life?
All of the people with very definite opinions on the outcome are highly intelligent, and I am very sure this is not the only thing that they need to digest that's on their plate metaphorically speaking, that is. In case you have not been following all this it’s the saga of ‘ye ole grapefruit tree’, and whether or not she should stay upright, barely holding on for dear life or put out of her misery by dismembering her bit by bit.
OUCH! That does sound just dreadful, but in actuality it is the only way to remove her from thee property.

The vote count I must admit is somewhat surprising; over the first few days the count definitely looked as if she would not be too long for this world and that her end would be very near.
But the count has taken a reversal for her fortune due to the campaign by that powerful woman from the non-profit, and her contact people that have turned this around to save ye ole grapefruit gal!
The count at this hour is now 6 for her to go to that ye ole tree resting place in the sky or become resurrected as mulch; I do really think; we recycle everything in our county. And 9 for her to remain in her somewhat gasping for life, ugly, sad but alive state, and yes she had been fed and pruned at first, and a few times after. (This is definitely not a case of neglect or senior tree abuse! Just in case anyone was wondering.) One of the other nine people for her to stay was actually one of our initial contacts and topping was recommended again plus severe pruning. I have used that process before and it has worked on others.
Another of the nine was one of our people too, and he felt that she should be a monument to the Hurricane Charley that she really had survived, and a reminder of what we had gone through. Believe me when I say spending four hours in a hallway while your home and the neighborhood is destroyed around you is not something you ever forget, and one anemic tree is not needed to remember any of that! This has not been easy for either of us as you can now see why. But we will see what will be the majorities’ decision, and go with that.
Although, right now her life expectancy has actually been increased due to the fact that I had forgotten with our new once a week pick-up we have now until next Monday night for all votes to be tabulated. Garden waste is removed on Wednesday with our recycling and our regular garbage. Monday as the deadline, excuse the choice of words,it allows for what if the vote again takes a turn towards the negativity of her life's continuance.

So this silly little question and poem with supporting pictures beginning of mine has started something!
Some thing I know not what, but some thing and it is intriguing to my curious self on the outcome of the final tallies, which makes for SOME THING to look forward to.

Good night to all and to all keep having some thing of a purpose that’s what makes me open my eyes in the morning, how about you?
