Gobble gobble all full up!

How are you all?
Did the tryptophan kick in yet?
Mine hasn’t.
Turkey was great and so were the fixings if I do say so myself, and I just did.
Just had my small slice of the pumpkin pie I did not bake, but was hmm mm good anyway!

Today we emailed with much gusto to many friends and family.
We sent well wishes to them all for the holiday and beyond, and even asked for help on a vote on whether or not to take down a grapefruit tree in our yard that is a sad reminder of Hurricane Charley’s wrath.
I wrote a ridiculous explanation of its history and even sent photos of the tree that can best be described as the one seen alongside the Bates Motel in the movie Psycho, and one photo zoomed in showing its minute fruit production for this season. I suppose I did forget to mention that in Florida grapefruit trees are not deciduous (don’t loose their leaves, and this one has, but I know you knew that. We do have a few here but not many that do.), especially at this time of year when they should be bountiful and lush.
So far I received two answers on the vote count one yea, and one warning me to be sure that I don’t need a permit, which I took as silly since my husband was an ordinance enforcer as a community policing office and worked closely with the building code department and even wrote the changes to an ordinance in that capacity. He also served on many county boards.
And in case you were wondering, no you do not need a permit to remove your own tree in your own backyard, if someone else did it then they would need a permit or if it was on a public right of way then you would, but this is in our fenced backyard, and to be honest I think it will be OK to remove since it is somewhat of an eyesore and continually needs to be propped up, its hole gets bigger as we speak.
It has no agricultural architectural value either and by most who appreciate the aesthetics of gardening would have put it out of its misery when it fell that fateful day.
And so we wait, perhaps until next week for the voters votes to come in since we sent out the ballot concepts to 19 of the people we usually send on such other not so personal things.
Who am I kidding we want the ugly stick down, but feel guilty about its miniscule grapefruit production.
PS with my medications for cholesterol and high blood pressure and stomach problems I can’t even eat them and my husband doesn’t even like them.
So it is out of guilt or fear of killing a barely living thing that it has survived this long.
But I truly need to hear from everyone to contact us with their DNR reports.

So I will ask any of you if you read this Blog too, please get those votes back as soon as you decide, OK?

Good night to all and to all pray for all those people in Mumbai, India, and I will too.
