Yes, the Market ended the week up nearly 500 points.
The news was good due to President Elect Obama's choice for secretary of the treasury with the probability of Timothy Geithner in the news; he is currently head of the New York Federal Reserve.
The Market has been making hairpin turns at every step; each newsworthy announcement creates these scary turns; if they were a bomb we would have exploded long ago.
I am sure glad I am not involved in those decisions of buying and selling those stocks, or even a less volatile practice of choosing a cabinet, I suppose that too is a matter of opinion on its volatility. I could have been on the school choice patrol though, glad the Obama mini ladies made their choices.
The impression that I am getting is your damned if you do or damned if you don’t.
Oh well, the job went to the right person, a cool capable person who can make decisions without emotional concerns, just intellectual appropriateness decisiveness.
Felt better than I had been feeling, and consequently I did go for my walk this morning.
And I also finally got an actual notification of my test results being in on my cholesterol bloodwork and my mammogram being back, and so Monday at ten I will be going into the doctors’ office for those answers. No news is good news I truly do hope. I’ll keep you posted on those results. They mean a lot to me due the fact both of my parents having died of strokes caused only by high cholesterol, and my Mom had breast cancer and had to have a radical mastectomy, and I too have had high cholesterol, and three lumpectomies. So these waiting periods are naturally tense for me.
I told them about my headaches too and that the Tramadol did not work right causing me to lose more sleep due to the interaction with the Pepcid that I do need also and so I had to stop taking the Tramadol. Consequently my shoulders and hips’ pain still keep me tossing all night even without the headache added into the mix, not so fun.
The weather continues to be brisk here, cool mornings in the 40- 50’s range and pleasant afternoons in the low to mid seventies.
And yes we are below our norm of 80.
These temperatures have made us even more appealing to the tourists apparently since in spite of our other misfortunes of high unemployment and foreclosures they seem to be coming to get away from their cold so the news says.
We are being told that they are also contributing to the sale of some of our overabundance of glut of homes for sale by making purchases, yeah!
Tourists are our economy buster in the hole.
As long as our weather holds we are desirable.
On that pleasant note I will end for tonight with a good night to all and to all keep the faith.
Speaking My Mind is about: Tobi, who is a middle aged, no, oh all right a slightly over the hill woman with all the imperfections that go with that, and this concerns her daily life's perceptions and experiences.
