The water and wind blew our row boat off its moorings, but not away! Our pontoon boat on the lift did fine tied on! Our canoe, which we have had for over forty years, did not go anywhere but onto the fence; it was habituating upside down anyway! The third pic down is our neighbor's across the street they throw everything away. We don't; we try to salvage by turning the air down and fans on after we sweep, and use a squeegee and our wet-dry vac the entire house! Also our dehumidifier! Listen this is the first Hurricane we haven't lost power or internet after in 38 years of living in Florida with four direct hits!!!
According to Hubby our LVF is history. It was floating and buckled in too many places as well as chipped!
We have paid FEMA for flood insurance for 26 years and had only one previous claim from Hurricane Ian two years ago. Our regular homeowners are within the state locally Tower Hill in Gainesville and our claims have been mostly with them since Hurricane Charley in 2004, Irma 2117, Ian 2022, and now Helene 2024! Both insurance companies have been spoken to and will be sending adjusters soon, the FEMA one said we should hear from theirs on Tuesday or Wednesday.
The pool below is now Hubby drained it; the pool above was just after the storm.
The rest of the pictures are after we got rid of the water!!!
The watermark below in the bathroom shows how high it got in the sunroom too!
All the doors in the house are filled with water and destroyed so they must be replaced!
But Hubby says the house is toast, and we should move...I would agree if the possibility of moving did not seem like such an enormous issue to accomplish! And the fact that this is the longest we have lived anywhere...!
Allow me to introduce you to the crew...
