Happy first night of Hanukkah!

Woman Screaming and Crying in Frustration While Getting ...

Rabbi Simon Jacobson and his Rebbe of the Chabad of Charlotte County Port Charlotte Florida have been messaging me about many classes going on at their Temple, mostly Torah classes. They are very friendly Hasidiums, but religiously so different from the reform or conservative Jewish Centers I grew up with many are not thought of kindly. I think they are too religious for me or Hubby. Albeit welcoming to all people in this particular locale. This Rabbi is responsible for the menorah lightings at our Town Center Mall in Port Charlotte Florida on 12-26-19 and at Fisherman's Village on the 28th!

I am more interested in the Talmud due to enjoying reading the Rabbi mysteries when I was a voracious reader before all my eye problems. But alas any classes might be difficult with me in this condition, who knows...? Any-who the Rabbi has sent me additional info for anyone who needs to know about the menorah and its lighting. Personally, I have been lighting my parents' menorah every year, but my Catholic husband also has lit it when I was too ill to, and he even says the prayer, what a guy!

“Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity
to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel
that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true to the best that is in you.”
