Especially if he/she is answering your question you left on a Saturday with their covering physicians voice mail, ya know?
Due to that fall, I mentioned yesterday I had called my GP's office (General practitioner/internist) and left that previously said voice mail.
I had followed the criteria required to gain access, name date of birth phone number and reason for calling a couple hours after the fall had happened yesterday morning around eleven A.M.
Lunch and dinner had past and it was exactly 7:07 P.M. that a doctor called back not sure if it was mine. Hubby said that he would answer the phone but he did not get it in time, fortunately, the doctor left a message. He said that I should not wait till Monday and that I should go to a walk-in clinic or ER to be checked out. I was in bed and lifted that phone a smidge too late but heard the message left for me and so did Hubby. He got ready to leave and took both fur babies out they had been fed earlier.
The hospital ER is 1.8 miles from our home, oh by 7:07 P.M. when the call came in all walk-in clinics had been closed. Fawcett Hospital has the automatic check-in by using your driver's license or I.D. it reads that to gain all your vital relevant information. Crystal was at the desk and took the blood pressure that was quite high for me, 175 over 70! I had to use my ride due to the hospital being out of wheelchairs, would you believe. They were busy but you would never know in the ER. One of the nurses mentioned twelve had been admitted prior to my arrival. We had arrived close to eight, I think. After blood pressure another head CT, then a chest x-ray, then blood work and installing of an IV just in case. In less than two hours I was told everything looked fine and I could go home, WOW!
A better outcome than my last two previous visits.
Hubby was angry with me and kept repeating you have MS you have to stop trying to do what you used to do, as much as I hated those words with every fall he proves them to be self-evident! DAMN!
The hospital has that portal thing to access all test results in my case only the blood work was available. An email awaited for me to open when I arrived home.
And although I was okay my blood work was still showing too many highs and lows, most were in that realm of not too off, the worst though being my urea nitrogen nearly 10 points too high, and having to do with my kidneys, not good!
I printed out the pages with mostly highs and lows I see my neurologist this week and I will bring them with me.
I still believe so much that knowledge is power!
And I am still educable sort of, ha.
Moving on...
