I seem to be a day off lately.

Any-who, yesterday, see, a day off, anyway we had to go for our fasting blood work, but that was rather late and Hubby wanted to stop at his barber shop for his haircut first, and so we did.
Really the phlebotomist I told him only looks at our ruby gold fluid they enjoy pulling from our beings like Vampiras, hair does not matter there, ha!
Yes, our local Labcorp where we go have all women vampires so VAMPIRAS!
And so logically I determined that they must like what they do or they wouldn't be doing it, hmm?
All this was for our new doctor whom we see next week for those results, I hope they will be ready!
PS my MRI is still not.
Yes, I did call the Advanced Imaging where they have that high tesla equipped MRIs, two I was told.

After we had brunch at IHOP, all you can eat pancake day that coincided with senior discount day.
Hubby got the works: eggs (2), sausages (2), hash browns and two pancakes to start, he had two more after!
I on the other hand had their lite breakfast of egg whites (2), turkey bacon (2), fresh fruit and two slices of whole wheat toast.
Both with coffee.

After brunch we did our general shopping at Publix with our list, and only a few deviations, plus a couple of prescription items; one stop there for all, $270, priceless.
Then home.

Today, whoa back on track we were home all day.
And yesterday I had received our landline and WiFi bill in an email, it had increased again by over six bucks through CenturyLink and we had not made any odd calls or changed a thing.

So I called and questioned them and they said since it did not reflect our discount, and so I asked for our discount and they said we were not entitled anymore to the discount.
What? I said, and the woman Shirley said yes that it is no longer available.
So I said then I guess I have to pay you this amount and I told Hubby and I paid it online that day electronically that will be paid actually tomorrow.
I told the woman we might get rid of the landline like everyone else and then asked how much, ten dollars less was the quote.
I said well that I have a month to find a better price.
And so when Hubby and I started looking today, Xfinity was cheaper by twenty bucks a month just for the WiFi.
So we called them, and they said that we did not exist!
Since we never got cable from them, huh?
They are Comcast.
We said we only want WiFi and they wanted all personal info besides just an address, so we shut them down!
And that is how Hubby tried our CenturyLink once again.
This time for some unknown reason they did give him the discount!
So he handed me the phone after the female supervisor Taquawana in Miami too got on the line, and I asked her why was that?
Gender preferred?
He was angry, while I was not originally, but now hey yeah!

And so now, all of a sudden they will be giving us a differential credit for this month for application to next, got it?

Not good!

Every time these things happen I rack it up to the SOUTH mentality, about women being second class citizens I cringe, repeat myself and then sadly yell!
It reminds me when we first moved here in 1986 and I went to register our sons in school here in Florida on the other coast they needed the father to be present too, and sign off on every thing.
I almost said I was a single parent I was so angry!
Then what would they have done asked my dead father for permission to allow his grandsons to enter their elementary and middle schools?
I didn't of course, but this NJ gal was pissed.
But I said that I would bring them back the signed copies to the woman requesting Hubby's John Hancock, yup women doing that to women.
I wanted to leave right then, but I didn't... nearly thirty-two years later it is still going on...it's gotta be cause of the GOP, and me being still and always a liberal in this GOP land! I was fooled by the Democratic governor that was in office when we originally moved here.
Cheap ploy.

Ha, but true.

Happy good night to all and to all count those blessings or not?

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Humana RX the truth about their billing

I had no say in medication sent to me for a ninety day supply for a mere co-pay of $8.
My new doctor, neuro, ordered it without my knowledge for the new year at my lower dose we had discussed of Gabapentin going from 300 mg. capsules down to 100 mg capsules so it would be easier for me to lower the dosage of this quite dangerous medication if not tapered off appropriately by weekly reductions.

And the usual cost when not in the donut hole that Medicare calls not meeting your deductible yet for the new year the co-pays are $3.30 for a three month supply of this generic medication of Neurontin called Gabapentin, like all of my other generic medications, see two and a half times higher in cost although many might argue still a bargain, okay agreed!

The problem was not only that they billed me, they actually charged me on my credit card that they were TOLD SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE NOT TO USE OUR CREDIT CARD WITHOUT ASKING ME FIRST!
And this is where the actual problem lies, yup lies.

So I called when I saw the charge on our joint charge account online and that set off my alarm to call them.
I did not even know what it was for, if they had called they would have known I was still using my 300 mg. Gabapentin and at that time I was not in need of additional medication nor at the higher co-pay, although not a financial burden, it was the principle of the thing and I let them know that!

And they had been guilty of this infuriating flagrant misuse of our account before, and they do know that they were never given carte blanche or to feel that they could access the credit card account at their will!
NO! And they had been told to call and ask first numerous times.
Now they better since we now have a new account number with that card due to a complete stranger trying the same thing! HA! On them if they do do it again!

Any-who, so the eight dollars was billed and when I called they said that the medication was on the way and me staying true to form I said they will be having it returned since I did not want or need it!
So they emailed me a label and when it arrived, the next day I believe it was... I used my clear packing tape and slapped on their emailed label after making two copies one for me and the other on the package I mailed it back on 1-10-18!
I received the -$8 refund on my account, yay!

Speed forward to yesterday 1-29-18 when I received three more ordered with my permission medications at their higher price due to that damn donut hole again, three for $46.11, normally all three generic ones will be later this year only, $9.90 that done by me out of frustration I knew since this time I was party to the order and figured that I too was in the do-nut-hole of misery!

So when they were ordered this time I did allow them to use our credit card, and immediately it could be seen going through on our online bank site that I check.
Alrighty now!

You would think that all was right with the world, and if it was anyone else but these magical mystical financial magicians who do make money disappear, i.e. yours!
YUP!
The new medications came in with a balance due of, drum role please...........................................................................$54.11, yes they were now charging me again for the $8 + $46.11 that they billed me for and went through immediately last week!
So I called again, and after waiting for periods being put on hold numerous times until I got to the right person in billing finances!
Who saw that they were trying to double bill me on the $46.11 and THEY HAD TRIED TO RECHARGE ME FOR THE $8, BECAUSE THEY REFUNDED IT TWICE!
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT?????????????
Yup on the 1-8-18 and again on the 1-20-18!
And yes they did see that they already were paid the $46.11 on 1-23-18 the day of the order!

So this article is a buyer beware of even Humana RX mail-order, a so-called reputable company and they are in my opinion, just careless with their billing policies.
I mentioned to the young woman that if I wasn't so meticulous about checking our accounts due to them being previously compromised or if I was less able to remember paying them already as some other elderly clients may be they, who might very well accept what they have been shown or told bill wise, and that they were doing a disservice to their client base by not being more scrupulous with their bookkeeping!
That is all, and now I was assured all was corrected as well it should be.
If not you can be downright sure that I will be letting them know!

On the other side of this MISTAKE, for that is what it was, a human mistake, was the  double $8 credit/refund to our account, and this is where a company can eventually feel the problem in their financial billing department with losses!
An eight dollar one here or there, times thousands of accounts, and you see where I am going with this, hmm?
And I told her this too, so I said I think you know how to fix this and she said that she would.
Let us not forget that double billing is nothing more than fraudulent behavior too when done on purpose, but I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that it was just another careless mistake.

However, I do feel that as a company their size this is NOT a good way to handle billing with too many mistakes that have happened to me personally with them for this time was not the first time!
Enough said!

Although, it is prudent for all of us to check our accounts regularly for bogus charges and be aware that some companies are not worthy of your trust with your credit cards or any bank accounts access without permission first!
Be aware and careful!

Happy night to all!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

No answers.

Called the MRI place and the neurologist doctor's office, and then after leaving a voicemail I heard back from the nurse in my neuro's office who told me that they are waiting on the report, but the films came in, she could see them in the bin, doctor hasn't seen them yet. Oh, this is for my results of my brain MRI done on 1-19-18.
She told me that they wait for the report to call the patient.
Apparently, this time the snowbirds cannot be blamed the MRI is in the one that does the high tesla place that I always go to for the MS MRI scans these last several years, and I usually got back my reports within a few days, in a timely manner. They have not gotten back my report due to their large amount of radiologists leaving the group and they are the ones who read the MRIs and CATs and everything else there! They are one of the only high tesla equipped facilities that specializes in these things even having a 3D Mammogram that I was going to access in March, since they do prevent false positives! I previously went to my old internist doctor's, but no more.

They have one person doing all of them at this high tesla place!
Geez! WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT???????????
Now what?
The nurse from the doctor's office said she was going to call over there too; after I confessed I had been calling there also, so as not to bother them first. She said no bother; see nice.

In my opinion... from my personal experience...
Neurologists and their staffs I have found are very delicate in the psyche departments, how ironic, truly!
Many, I have found are arrogant.
And these are NOT the NEUROSURGEONS, just neurologists, perhaps failed surgeons?!
NAH!
Maybe?
Most women though in the field seem more understanding to a point.
But none like being pushed when you prove they have people on their staff that are incompetent with ordering medications or such in wrong dangerous doses!
I have definitely had a one, ha, yup a one.
They protect them as if they are their children, no matter what, right or wrong!??????

So far it appears I have a good one this time, and so I am walking on eggshells not to rattle her or her wonderful competent staff!
Who truly try to help no matter what.

So now I wait for all the medicos to get their acts together, here in old folks retirement land!
With more offices of medical types, including urgent care, continuing to open and one hospital within my two mile radius changes hands several times over the many years that we have lived here, but we have two and that one is constant.
I feel more options should emerge?

Meanwhile, I went there to that particular one and due to their previous personal reputation with me that had me on good faith, perhaps new radiologists doctors will be hired there?
Who knows, who cares, I do.

That's it for tonight... tomorrow my latest BAD experience with screw up billing with Humana RX!
Stay tuned.

Happy good night!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Cabin Fever! So we made a great escape!

So we released the hounds, in other words Hubby and I went out of our mini manse for a day of fun and pleasure! Onward to the premier, first effort and an excellent one I might say of Englewood's Seafood and Music Festival on W. Dearborn Street on the Sarasota County side, not the Englewood in Charlotte County side, got that?!

You can see the men/boys, and women/girls dancing up front, yay for our generation!
Act 3: https://www.act3live.com/ were incredible sending us off into so many familiar tunes from Motown, Bruno Mars, and Michael Jackson music that makes you want to sing and dance to, and so we did in our seats, but others got up and swayed or danced in front of the stage, like a geriatric Dick Clark's American Bandstand dance troupe! I use the term geriatric, although most were our age of baby boomers, but they were all in fine health or perhaps the music caused the effect? Loved them the band as well as the audience participation!

West Dearborn Street is a wonderful mishmash of antique shops, being green shops, recycling art galleries, restaurants, and blues music, in other words delightful!
A street entertainer was plucking an oldie tune out on his guitar as we left that amazing free parking lot with plenty of spaces, even a toilet facility, as well as a specific designated section for free recharging of your battery automobile!
We will definitely return, it's been years since we visited this gem that is only a mere twenty-three miles to our north.

Info on historic Dearborn Street.

This volt is getting some voltage as I write.

Happy good night.

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Same song another day later!

I suppose Hubby and I am about the same in how we feel, although... he made the effort to go pick up dinner tonight via Subway, sub shop not transportation.(For my NJ and NYC etc. peeps)

Any-who, all I can say is we do both have our appetites back, a good thing.
Although, oddly enough I never really lost mine, and I had Hubby eat too, something, anything, keeping up strength.
Now for the last few days the news has said that older people, not just sweet young children have been dying from heart attacks within ten days after the flu, due to having compromised immune systems from chronic diseases such as high blood pressure (Hubby), diabetes (me only pre), and asthma or autoimmune disorders such as Multiple sclerosis (me), CKD (me), Lupus etc. or just being older, over fifty!
Even with our flu shots on mine 9-6-17, and Hubby's 11-10-17 and thankfully even not heart disease hoping that makes a difference, and we did have those pneumonia shots forever also should be helpful too!????????

Scary just the same.
Remember folks DO NOT TAKE ASPIRIN FOR THE FLU, REYES SYNDROME WILL HAPPEN TO ADULTS AS WELL AS CHILDREN!!!!!!!!

Love to all be well... keep those fluids and rest and Tylenol for fever happening!
Vicks vapor rub and vaporizers too are very helpful for congestion!
Keep out of reach of children for safety, in rooms, but high away from them and cords hidden all to be careful. Will still be beneficial.

Happy good night all.

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Feeling not so great

Hope whomever reads this is feeling okay without any flu symptoms.

Be well.

And if not.
Rest.
Drink plenty of liquids.

And call your pharmacist for some over the counter ideas, if real bad call the doctor; try not to go to the hospital or urgent care facilities, more sick people there to make you worse and waits also to make you sicker!
Don't forget to tell he/she pharmacist/doctor if you have high blood pressure or asthma or any other health issues that might not allow you take certain medications.
Remember pharmacist work longer hours and many pharmacies deliver.

Good luck!
AND
Good night!

 TTYT!

Florida's back temperature wise, but not us!

We are happy to say that the weather outside is delightful!
But inside here is frightful!
Let it glow, let it glow, let it glow!
YES!
Florida is once again the SUNSHINE STATE!
Our handle, nickname, alias, pseudonym, nom de guerre, the one on our licence plates in lieu of our county name, you get the idea, yup.

So temperature wise we are back on target and that means being with lows in the sixties and highs hitting its mark in the seventies and towards eighty or maybe even above that!
YES! Some days, sun days, more days!
Come on down!
But leave your FLU HOME!
We got our own!

Staying outside is healthy especially under those above circumstances.
And at least we have the right climate for it!

Laundry is all caught up, and all deliveries too.
My last was a microfiber tailored bedskirt in ivory from Wayfair, it came four days early, surprise!
It matches our headboard in color and texture.
Our set bedskirt ripped that matches our comforter, and we know not from what?
It is quite old for us, nearly eight years old.
We do store items under our bed so it is nice to have them unseen.
In the guestroom we also have those rolling storage bins under that bed too with another bedskirt there too.
Handy additional storage for a small home without an attic or basement.
Scaling down was pretty hard for us, but it has been over twenty-four years since we had a larger home, four times larger than our current one.

Oh wait I have medication coming in a few days, maybe even tomorrow?
Always something, hmm?

So far no porch pirates here.
Many areas have them.
You know who they are, those people who scope out deliveries in a neighborhood for the only desire to steal them!
Be careful and aware.

Coughing now TTYT, okay!

Gotta go, drug time!

Happy good night!

Next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

So we did receive the new cards, and...

...We did have the refund from Best Buy show up too, but the coupon club one hasn't yet.
These new credit cards are now good till 2023, only five years away, but still that year is mind boggling when you think about it!
Truly.
So science fiction-ish, ya know?
Well, maybe not to most of you young-ins, although wrapping my brain around that year still seems futuristic to me, and yup I guess it is, what do ya know, 2023 hmm!
Being that it is not now nor tomorrow or the day after that...really!
It is, dare I say, seventy-three years after my birth!

WHOA! And WOW!
Makes you think about mortality, now my Mom lived to seventy years old due to a massive stroke taking her in eleven and half hours, and her Mom was killed in a car accident at a mere fifty-six years young and I never got to meet her since she died six months before I was born. Dad's Mom too passed away too young. I think in her early sixties due to diabetes and gangrene, back in the 1940's before I was born, consequently I did not meet her either. So the chance that I will be here in 2023 sounds iffy to me, only due to the women in my family not having much luck in that arena... only five years...  to most makes my thoughts go to maudlin, forgive. But........... and now this is a BIG BUTT  whoops I meant BUT medicine is so much better these days, so hooray! I will volunteer to be a guinea pig (MAYBE) so that I have a fighting chance and I will, fight all the way that is!

Still not waiting around to die!
Only waiting for this damn flu thingy to leave the premises!

Moving on...

No news about my results of my MRI yet.
I suppose no news is good news, hmm?

Meanwhile, I think that I found the cause of my eyes blurring,  too much of phone games and computer time!
Over indulgences in solitaire and dominoes?
Too much Netflix?
I hope.
Most popular?
Least problematic, easily fixed.

Oh well.
We will see...

On that nearly positive note, sort of...allow me to be the very first to wish you all a very happy good night and ask you to kindly share all your blessings and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Are we what we choose to watch for entertainment?

If we are, many would deduce that I am very confused.
Only since I enjoy a wide variety of genres.
From Grace and Frankie, Stranger Things, Arrow or any DC characters, same with Marvel, Sherlock Holmes British or American renditions, American Crime, American Horror Story, Midsomer Murders, Call the Midwife, Land Girls, movies etc. etc. and on and on and on... how odd?
No, just me.

But yes, I am entertainment challenged or a nicer way to put it, maybe just: ANYTHING NETFLIX CURIOUS?

Moving on...

Any-who, one might reasonably decide from my topic of tonight's conversation, wait dialogue, no soliloquy, silent monologue?

Oh well...that perhaps today was less than an eventful day.

We did have an unknown, bogus, pending charge on our credit card online that I questioned and that it must have gotten there by being a pop-up that somehow had gotten our card number and billed us for joining some type of coupon club that I did not recall signing up for.
Hubby got their phone number for me and I told them I did not know what they were and did not want them and that they should remove their charge of $9.97 a month charge I think, did not want to find out but as clubs go..., and they agreed to within the next two days to cancel and remove the charge.
It always amazes me that their initial charge is instantaneous, but their removal often takes days or even weeks!

I also notified the bank and we closed that card due to me NOT giving them our card number and then them just being able to charge us without actually getting that info from me?

Our new cards will be sent overnight, thankfully!

Our current ones would have been up in April anyway, and new ones would have be going out automatically then.
We have been with these cards since, Geez, since 1986!
But every time they were thought to be compromised we had to change the numbers; I do believe this is the third or fourth time... damning reflection of the times we are living in, yup all within the last decade I think.

See checking your accounts are not a foolish thing to do daily or a few times a week at minimum especially in this day and age.
And NOT paranoia, really just smartly prudent!

On this considerable over compensating verbose writing need for not having much going on in my little world... allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and share all those blessings and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Hubby has rejoined me in hell with the sequel of FLU TWO!

And we both had our FLU SHOTS!
He keeps telling me that this sharing with me has got to stop!
Methinks he forgot he shared the original with me!
He's forgiven since he is ill with the flu though, but so am I.

Not waiting around to die, we are usually doing something, anything instead of that!

Sadly, someone I know stated that some days it feels that way, "Just waiting around to die."
Huh?
And very negative!
I like to think that when we take days off from a too often busy day, mind you too many doctor appointments at times... but making the most of them by having fun eating out! Today we tried a new to us place, the hamburger joint called Five Guys.
1900 TAMIAMI TRAILS, STE. 100
PORT CHARLOTTE FL 33948
T941-764-0088
11am-10pm Every Day
Menu consists of hot dogs, hamburgers and shakes and soft drinks.
Decent burgers, all toppers are free and healthier fries. They have shops nationally, find yours at: http://www.fiveguys.com/

Besides lately I have been feeling funky, although my flu never got to the usual symptoms, I only have coughing, runny nose, sneezing and achy body; thankfully no full blown fever, or at all really.
I suppose my flu shot has helped considerably in preventing that!

I did have a dermatologist's appointment today to check the brownish blotches that I recently acquired where my squamous cell carcinoma had been a few years ago, so I went to be checked.
And all is well, just sun discoloration thankfully! Cure: more sunscreen.
The ARNP that I see there is named Elizabeth Webber, the same name as the nurse on the TV show General Hospital, what a coincidence!

We came home after so I could see GENERAL HOSPITAL!

I am back on the vaporizer, Tylenol, cough medicine, and Vicks vapor rub.
Other than that I am fine.
That is not counting the MS, asthma, CKD, thyroid, arthritis, eye problems and other issues that may have slipped my dotty brain for now, ha, bud dump bum.

On that awkward note allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly share all your blessings and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

NO! I am not waiting around to die!
I am fighting hard to live!
One day at a time... going with the flow... ya know?

After all I speak my mind daily here! Ta DA!

"You will be called in to fulfill a position of high honour and responsibility."

2. "You or a close friend will be married soon."
3. "You will be traveling and coming into a fortune."
Three out there amazingly interesting fortunes from China City's fortune cookies with tonight's dinner.

First one, the title, YAY he is stepping down! Pres DJ, Orange Frothy Haired Guy, Mr. T, you know who...
But no I would not take over his mess, but I would defer to Barack Obama who would in his coolest way make it all work so much better with kindness to all people, and no wall and DACA Dreamers would continue forever, and so would CHIP, our soldiers will be paid more and get the old education paid for under the GI bill and VA privileges that took care of all their health and their families too, and social security, Medicare and Medicaid would be stable and never threatened for all who paid for them or needed them!
And a shut down would never ever happen again!

Uh oh that honour was spelled in the UK way not the American way, oh well, maybe the UK needs me, ha? Oh wait Hong Kong was part of the UK thus the spelling, whew! It could be true, he could just leave, please do!

The second one is impossible for me to marry, since I already am, and most all of the people I know are too, confused.

No news for the third fortune of such things have been told to us, so who knows it could be, might be...I did enter the first step of Publisher's Clearinghouse that I hadn't for years; due to it being so darn frustrating! But this was a postage free envelope so....... I took a shot.
Five thousand dollars a week for life, so why not?
Did I win? Not yet.

The future... is a mystery!

Moving on...

Today, I chilled missing this beautiful weather as I spent all day indoors ... for shame.
No boating no Home and Garden show... oh well.
Hot bed of germs there I bet... oh well.
Our thermometer showed that we actually had a high of eighty-one degrees today that I missed.
Oh poo!

Just feeling crummy.

Comfort foods have helped like egg drop soup and other Chinese sustenance in the form of yummy  lobster and fried rice, and spare ribs too!
No guilt, need nourishment, and besides only had a little bit of each, just a taste.

On that note please have a very happy good night and share those blessings and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Flu confused?

No temperature today.

But I napped after breakfast for two more plus hours and I had made  breakfast and ate it too with Hubby. He brought me both lunch and supper in bed, both from our leftovers. Lunch from our leftover blackened tilapia turned into sandwiches for each of us with my special sauce of light mayo with lemon and dill, and Cole slaw on the side.

Dinner was my leftover Mexican dish that I showed you, but only half of the half for lunch today even, and Hubby's  had my leftover half of the open faced roast beef sandwich with his extra gravy he had asked for before we had left the restaurant.

According to my CPAP machine for my sleep Apnea I slept nine plus hours last night as well, yep well, good word for it.
I had taken extra strength Tylenol with my regular medications before bedtime, perhaps that all helped?
I awoke, and took my normal meds plus more Tylenol, it says every six hours this was more like twelve.
Maybe I found the answer for me sleeping?
Becoming a Tylenol addict, every six to twelve hours, ha, nah hmm?
Who knows, don't drink anymore.
As we all know Tylenol and drinking do not mix.
Also took my Delsyn cough syrup for children and adults last night and again this morning and that is every twelve hours.

Druggy?

Any-who, the vaporizer is continuing to run with its Vicks vapor rub misting my air here in the bedroom.
Only left to make and eat breakfast and to shower and that wasn't until around two o'clock P.M.
Good idea whether sick or not, showering that is, gets rid or bacteria and lowers temperatures, proven fact.
Using less tissues and coughing is more sporadic than constant.

Moving on...

One thing I had forgotten to mention that the ridiculously priced multi ended cord for my notebook computer is going back to, now known evermore in our opinion to us as: Not So Best Buy for $58.54. I had Goggled successfully last week and at Walmart online received yesterday, a week early I might add, with free shipping and no tax the proper cord for just $19.50!
Why that's an amazing savings of $39.04!
Ta DA! And me without a net!
And the return will be well within  their two week refund window with NOT SO BEST BUY!

Should have Googled first perhaps, when will I ever learn... oh wait I did!

A microfiber ivory bed skirt for our king bed just today at Wayfair, best priced!

On that note, allow me to be the very first to wish you all a very happy good night and ask you to kindly share all your blessings and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

I will leave you for now with our sign of our times...speaking all their minds! YAY!

Busy again today.

Dr. Tracy, the podiatrist, gave to me a clean bill of health today, he said till next time!
If his office wasn't standing room only I would have thought he was trying to drum up some more business! A decent doc!

From the doctor's office we went over to the ... you got it PUBLIX for their great bread in their bakery, and numerous other small items forgotten.

And while I waited in the car in our garage for Hubby to put our perishables away, since we called it close for our next stop...my BRAIN MRI!

Due to with and without contrast approval I was not allowed to eat after breakfast till after the MRI was all done.

So we finally found a parking spot nearby one of our favorite lunch restaurants Olympia! Within the last week and half we tried four times, but they were all full each time! Good for them, but not for us.
This time due to the chill still in the air, Hubby ordered coffee and I ordered hot tea with lemon and honey!
For lunch we went twinseys with both ordering hot open faced roast beef sandwiches with mashed potatoes and gravy, Hubby's with extra gravy, he had the New England clam chowder while I had their renown delish cabbage soup, YUM!
Half of my mashed potatoes and gravy, roast beef and bread, came home with Hubby asking for more gravy, since he will be eating it over the weekend.

I had been feeling yucky, other than the Multiple Sclerosis, I even threw up a bit of soup I had had for dinner, sore back too with adding in sneezing, coughing, runny nose, and now a slight temp of just 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Could be the flu?
So I am back in bed, nothing new there, with the vaporizer purring and spewing Vicks into the misty air, tissue box and basket alongside of me within reach.
Hubby lovingly at my beck and call, thank you Hubby!
He has been asking me what he can do for me.
But alas all is done.
I started taking my liquid cough medication last night, safe for me with asthma.
I use my simply saline and if my fever goes up we are well stocked up on extra strength Tylenol.
I am not allergic to tea as Hubby found out he was, so we do have plenty of green tea and other types as well.
Honey and lemon too, even dare I say canned chicken and brown rice and whole grain noodle soups.
My Claritin suffices for other decongestants
Rest would be great, but even last night my dilemma with my CPAP machine used for my sleep Apnea I would cough or sneeze into its mask, so I had trouble leaving it on and so that is definitely a difficulty with sleeping and consequently I was up practically all night long!
Yes, I do know rest is imperative to beating this flu, and I did receive my flu shot on Sept. 6, 2017, very important too!
Any other ideas or input would be welcomed ... thanks.

Hope our idiots that run this country get their acts together so kids get what they need medically, and DACA's Dreamers stay!

Happy good night to all and to all share those blessings and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Las Margaritas de Camila's restaurant in Port Charlotte Florida

 Support the DREAMERS of DACA!

That said, our latest highlighted lunch stop. Right on the access road of the Tamiami Trail;
2665 Tamiami TrlPort Charlotte, FL 33952-5171
+1 941-627-6488. The food was enjoyable.

Chips and salsa seems to be the usual at most Mexican themed restaurants, but hmm hmm good! Hubby had their  chicken Chimichanga, and I had their vegetarian Sincronizada above the chips pic. So much, the photo shows the half we took home! As well as the rest of the chips and salsa! Hubby did finish his.

Moving on...

This morning's horrid cold temperature outside our window is below. The bottom numbers are our indoor temp and humidity. Tomorrow will be much warmer and by the weekend mid seventies and by Monday 80 again! YAY!
Happy good night to all and to all share those blessings and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Cold here tonight in southwest Florida!
Right now it's already fifty-six degrees at not even six P.M.!
Overnight the temps are going down into the freezing zones!
Yup, below thirty-two degrees, even in some places twenties, teens with wind chills!
Our panhandle, way north of us, hours and many miles away over 367 miles to Tallahassee from here alone and other cities west of there are nearly five hundred miles from here and they did have SNOW! WHAT?????????????????????//
At least during tomorrow it should be up in the fifties, but still brrrrrrrrrrr here!

NOT NORMAL FOR HERE IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA!

Our norm would be fifties overnight with daytime temps in the middle seventies for this time of the year!
Although, by Saturday the seventies will be back! YAY! For boating!

Hubby just moved potted plants into the garage, another good idea is to cover or water plants that you feel might need protection.

Moving on...

The cold is a small part of our national worries due to this time it looks as if in just two days our government will be shut down due to a lack of a cohesive meeting of the minds on important issues!

Threats have happened before over the years, but somehow decisions were made to stop the shutdown in time, but this time it doesn't appear to be going to be resolved.
Crossing my fingers these powers that be come to their senses...PLEASE!

See a nugget of national and local concerns.

Most days just trying not to harp on our dire concerns as a nation.

It's like that metaphoric elephant in the room, or that dotty relative no one wants to make too much of, since there seems to be nothing you can do.

FRUSTRATION!

Oh well.

So I try to stick to things that I still might have some control over like my health...NOT TOO MUCH THERE EITHER!

Oh well.

Happy good night to all and to all share those blessings and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Memory going.

So if I told you this before please forgive...

My neurological ophthalmologist, neurologist, and my ophthalmologist all agree I need my head examined, nicely put in other words a brain MRI, gotcha!
So it's scarily unanimous!
And if it weren't for all these doctors appointments I would have gone already, irony, hmm?
Odd how their charts are all blurry...unanimously!
Yup, frightening.
And foolishly I am still trying to find out by Googling what the heck is going on! But alas sadly my research and this writing too is blurry, damn!
My appointment for the MRI has been set for this week though.
The main neuro's office had to notify my nephrologist about the dye they use that I have not had any issues with previously. So I can have that high tesla with or without gadolinium.
But since I did have stage three ckd, chronic kidney disease, and now have only stage two, better, I guess it still matters, just one point past stage three actually at 61 GFR.
Sixty or below is stage three.
Mine was 53.
Head is pounding too.

On the up side we ate lunch today at Paneras. Hubby had their version of a cheese steak panini with chips, and I had their cup of tomato soup and half of a turkey club on sourdough bread with an apple, and two iced waters for us both, with lemons for me.

On the downside there aren't any automated lifts for my Permobil M300, and I am stuck with it for nearly three plus more years as per Medicare agreement, and our manual ramp too.
Poor Hubby's back!

That's it for tonight, happy good night to all and share those blessings as we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

King! Revisited again.

Monday, January 16, 2017

KING!

How things can change on a dime, two steps forward and sadly too many backwards...now in front of this this Friday!
Do you think that Dr. Reverend Martin Luther King is turning over in his grave... I wonder if such a fine man that might have been able to head us in a better direction than the charlatan that will be taking over from another man of kindness and decency who will be sorely missed what he would have had to say about all this... Oh what fate bestows upon us now... where have all the great ones gone... and why must we Americans be punished!

My original was written 1-17-11 of the below blog:
Please enjoy and think about how we got here, not where any of us had hoped to be, why?

In a world where our surnames are determined by our heritage or in the case of us old fashioned women by our spouse’s family names; Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is a man whose family had no idea that he would grow into his with such a worldwide dynamic of what the name stood for and that he would become a ‘King’ among men in the sense of his leadership, and bring to our family of men and women a legacy that any of us folks could be proud of from whence we came.
And so today we honor that man of our history who brought about a unification of all races to know that we as a unit of beings will be better at working and accepting one another and freedom should ring true for all.
A blessed person loved by all except for the one lunatic who cut him down way too soon in his prime of life.
Thankfully our children and grandchildren have been taught to continue Martin Luther King Jr.’s bequest of liberty for everyone no matter what the color of their skin.
I do believe that we have made quite a bit of progress on this forefront but have a ways to go, you see, we still hate too much here in this country and until that stops completely his words will not be fulfilled!
And so I beg of all Americans and all people of the world to listen closely to what this man’s words were, you can copy and paste this site: http://www.mlkonline.net/quotes.html for he knew what we all should do and felt we had the capacity to accomplish it all…and now more than ever we need to try harder!
Thank you Mr. King we all have much to thank you for!
His actual birthday was Sunday the fifteenth when he would have been eighty-eight years old.

I sure wish that things were different now, for a short time, eight years things were looking up for our country with love for all people, but now my hope for that is diminishing so very sadly...
Give your thoughts on this day of remembrance started in 1983 by President Ronald Reagan another Republican who now to me seems that he was much better than I thought, he brought about unity to so many here and in the rest of the world. If we had to have another Republican  why not one more like a Lincoln or Reagan why oh why a DJ Lord?

Never thought wallet shopping would be such a BIG project!

Not to mention materials, colors, sizes and on and on and on!
Whew!
Oh and the price!
I looked at from eighty dollar ones in Macy's, forty dollar ones in Beall's and JC Penney's and  as well as Sears all having "sales", yup their sale prices, to ten dollar ones from Walmart to finally Marshall's also ten bucks for a fifty dollar one, a Buxton!
Yay! I know, mixed emotions about real leather. The other one was too... for shame.

Ginormous though, compared to my downright old falling apart beyond usefulness at least ten years old wallet!
As you can see I had no other choice for myself at this point so Wally had to be put out of his misery, so he has been tossed with love and respect into the garbage!
He served me well for all those years.
In spite of my nasty habit of over stuffing him... oh well.
It was bound to happen and as you can see it did, he just plain exploded!
My heart aches to go back in time I should have been less concerned with saving all those people's cards outdated savings cards and heaven knows those should been thrown out outdated organizational cards like AARP, H2U etc. as well a duplicate of towing and insurances for shame!
Credit cards, health and boat and car insurance cards, voter registration stayed as well as the car and boat towing ones and so many others went.
Change went into the new one too, not much but I did see some ancient quarters, pennies and dimes, a whopping total of eighty-eight cents, same amount as piano keys!
Mean anything to you, not to me.
Hubby had gone into Best Buys for a new wire to charge my laptop, too much, sixty bucks!
We have fourteen days to return it.
Hope we come up with an alternative.

Tired now TTYT?

Okay?

Out and about in PG today!

I goofed in my title we actually had one stop in PC, Port Charlotte, at the Walgreen's and next door is Wilson Realty with these guys in between with Wilson's info on them, so we believe they represent the Wilsons, ha?

Punta Gorda, PG, had the Sullivan Street Arts and Crafts Fair outside show today and tomorrow. These cutesy Adirondacks chairs were on the way there after we parked in the free parking building on the third floor, street parking was no where to be had.

This bone faced item is in a shop at Fisherman's Village where we went too, as is the picture of the seven, count them, Maltese, age range from two to seventeen!

This rough waves pic was taken over in Lashley Park. I think that it shows you why we were landlubbers today!

This is where the municipal Marina is at Lashley Park as well as the Vietnam Memorial.

Out of order as you can read this works in progress artists hive was open to the public today.
We ate lunch again at Leroy's on Marion in PG; this time we shared a Cajun Gumbo, delish!

Happy good night to all and to all share those blessings and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

How can someone so smart be so stupid?

Yes, everyone here knows who I am talking about, that's right... the self professed well educated, very intelligent person who claims to hold the highest position in our land, yup.

When did this so-called smart person become this notoriously infamous guy; may I suggest at first TWEET?

Or was it when he crazily won the election that is still under investigation as I write this on whether or not he really legally did without treasonous means.

Hopefully the TRUTH is near!

Meanwhile the theater of the absurd continues daily.

If someone acts like a jackass then they are simply one, I say!

Ludicrous comments said and documented then denied does not make them nonexistent.

Am I still living on the planet earth?

Am I still living in the United States of America?

A melting pot.

Where the statue that welcomes ALL PEOPLE; that still stands in our Upper New York Bay with the name of Lady Liberty?

Many lunatics, (medical term) are given passes when they verbally say horrid things due to them being mentally ill, but this Orange Frothy Haired Guy, Mr. T, Pres DJ, is said to NOT be, i.e. mentally ill?
But still puts all of us in a negative view in the eyes of the world plus he jeopardizes all Americans safety with his public verbal lashings in irrational hateful terms?
So he is not crazy many argue, just a horrible excuse for a human being?
AGREED!
BUT WHAT HE DOES IS SICK TOO IN ITS LACK OF CONCERN FOR OTHERS!
Why only a physical was had today for him; why not a mental health test too?

I am frightened by what he will do next, we all should be.
He has too much power; what can we do to stop him?

I did NOT vote for him!

Meanwhile, back in my own little world... I will wish you all peace, love and much happiness daily forever and ever, add in another happy good night and share those blessings and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Speaking my mind is mostly a joy, relief, and release, but at times frustrates me too, as you too I am more than sure.

Enchanted looking forest of a time gone by...

Mystical and whimsical was our lovely accidental finding of a hidden park in our own backyard!

Less than two miles from our home are these Spanish moss ensconced trees.
It does seem there were many more such enchanted patches when we had arrived in Florida three plus decades ago.
Charming and foreboding nearly in unison, although I do enjoy their appearance of a time forgotten before we all arrived here, nearly prehistoric looking truly.
Just a cluster, a clump really, down a dirt road to nowhere; for we had to turn around due to no exit.
Hubby is the one who seemed to recall that it had been a park.
Now just a clearing with those magnificent conifers!
Sad to know that others may not have been as fortunate as to have made a wrong/right turn into our past.

Moving on...

Today was another busy day.
11:30 to one P.M. Red Lobster for luncheon and an informational talk about cremation, yup, a definite consideration.

Sometime after one Sam's Club for coffee, PAM and some of my over the counter meds. plus topping off the gas tank.

Around two thirty-ish on the way to my neuro's office for my check up and a discussion of newer symptoms and what to do for them.
Possibility of  IV Solu Medrol again, mixed emotions about that, but my call, and definitely another brain MRI, so I said maybe then if indicated.
I was wrong again I had my last MRI in 2017 not 2015, how soon we forget.
Even so I used to have them yearly and with symptoms it is prudent when two neurologists agree, the eye neuro guy and the regular neuro!
With our crazy schedule though a week away for fitting it in, oh well.

After leaving there we had an urge to check on the progress of the Allegiant's Sunseeker Resort here in Port Charlotte on Charlotte Harbor on twenty one acres there. It is to be right alongside the bridge we take to go over to River City AKA Punta Gorda, so this resort is within two miles of our home and that is why after the doc's we decided to see what we could see, many places, motels, stores and restaurants etc. have been closed since they were bought up by the airline, yes Allegiant Airlines is whom is building the resort. Cranes were also seen in place like giant dinosaurs ready to devour the site (s).
So I suppose progress is waiting in the wings?

Moving on...

We had passed a Kentucky Fried chicken dinner fast food place and even got on line for their drive thru, but when we saw that they wanted nearly $25 for a dinner, we pulled out of line and went to Publix around the corner and bought their dinner for the same things for about nine bucks savings!

We arrived home just in time for dinner.
So we ate.

Good happy night to all... and next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Please never be shy to speak your mind too!

Early out.

Had an appointment with my neuro eye doc today for my six month check up.
I do not have any eye muscle problems such as nystagmus, (do not self diagnose!) nor is it another bout with optic neuritis that I have had several times before.
My right optic nerve is still 30% damaged and my left one is also slightly damaged too, but apparently too small for percentages, all due to the MS.

When I arrived there everything was so blurry I could barely read any eye charts, only the top line with or without my eye glasses. And my two cataract lenses had been replaced way back in (L) 2010 and (R) 2014 when my eyesight had been deemed 20/30!
So what gives I so boldly asked, and the neuro eye doctor said that it's in my head, but clarified quickly/nicely or not so nicely, my brain perhaps has another lesion, so another brain MRI is due, since my last one was in 2015.
He said that since I will be seeing my neuro soon that she could order the brain MRI.

Yes, I did put in the call to see her, the neuro doc as per PT James suggestion, due to my leg pain from my feet I thought, he felt it was the MS exacerbating.
So that is why I will see what to do, also my other issues with my numb left hand, my eye problems.

Moving on...

After I finished the Netflix original new series first offer of DARK in its first year's entirety, a Germany made film with well done dubbing (preferred to subtitles) of a supernatural time machine oriented film noir story that was riveting.

I went a bit in another direction to an older TV show called Arrow a DC comics super hero. Lately, I have been enjoying those sorts of story lines too. Hubby said that it is still being shown on CW, who knew.
Well, this not so very old series began all the way back in 2012, WHOA I know, ha.

Yes, I did also watch Royal Pains, older than Arrow, another American made TV show that had an eight season run, so all that proves is my tastes are diverse!

Any-who, please have a happy good night and share those blessings and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Humana Rx part two, and more.

I never did receive that not requested additional three month's supply of medication, but after all was said and done I checked my bank account and even though they emailed a return label for me to send it back they have already credited my account for those higher co-pays!? And so far no medication has arrived.
WHAT?
All that aggravation and threats of not taking care of it until I returned the items that I did not request and are nowhere to be found, not delivered yet I suppose!?

BIG BUSINESS BUREAUCRACY at its most ludicrous!
Customer Service, I think not.
Customer dis-service, yup!

This just in: Medicine just arrived, guess that label will get used after all!

Moving on...

Tonight's dinner was an instant replay from last night's, yes plenty of leftovers.
Although, I had it for lunch and Hubby is having it for dinner.

As long as you finish everything eventually and then there are no problems.
Throwing away food makes me feel awful, but when in doubt throw out.

I could have actually froze half that package of chicken breasts too, much too much for two people for one meal... oh well.

Moving on once again...

A dear old mommy friend, yes when we were young mommies in our first homes, townhouse condos with infants and toddlers and being neighbors and all, her husband just passed away. He was only a few years older than us, but he fought the good hard fight of dealing with Crohn's disease for most of his adult life: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/crohns-disease/symptoms-causes/syc-20353304
He was one of the youngest president's of Arista Records, part of Universal, back in the day, 1970s in NYC, and handled bands like Led Zeppelin to name one that I can remember but so many others that were beginning back in the 1970's, Stu Greenberg. Nice people, so sad to lose someone that so well loved, Sue and Stu great couple, including their three sons, and now their daughters in law as well as those beautiful seven grandchildren! We reunited a few years back on Facebook from not seeing each other in forty years!
Thanks Facebook for that.

More info on Crohn's Disease: http://www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org/what-are-crohns-and-colitis/what-is-crohns-disease/?referrer=https://search.yahoo.com/
Maybe we can help somehow?

On that note try to have a very happy good night and share those blessings and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Stu you will be sorely missed by all who knew you!

Chicken Kiev with a twist.

On a cutting board take three boneless skinless chicken breasts and cut them length wise in half, making them thinner. Then spread them over the cutting board and cover with Saran/clear plastic wrap, all the way over and under the sides and then pound them with a mallet or can or rolling pin, etc. Next take four slices of bacon and cut into bite sized pieces. On a small plate take about a half cup of all purpose flour and add salt pepper and paprika and no sodium chicken bouillon to it. Get out your unsalted butter and more pepper, and with each flattened chicken breast put a good dose of raw bacon pieces and butter slice with pepper in the middle, then roll up each one up and then dredge in flour concoction, place in sprayed pressure cooker with quartered gold potatoes and water just up to the chicken. Cook on stove and when jiggler begins to jiggle set timer for thirty minutes till done.

Mixed veggie were done in the microwave, and so was the additional gravy fixings, mushrooms, garlic and onion with no sodium chicken bouillon, flour sprinkled, dash of extra virgin olive oil, and a bit of butter and water over the top, zap for one minute, after chicken is done add to pressure cooker pot for great gravy! Mixed frozen veggies also zapped in the microwave for two minutes in another separate micro safe container! And dinner is served!

*The more Kosher version of this recipe would be to leave the bacon out and instead of butter just use margarine and voila! Just as delicious! You may want to add a bit more Kosher salt and perhaps a bit more paprika.

On this note happy good night to all and enjoy! Note: Publix had a two for one sale on packages of chicken breasts today, thus this meal, and YAY! The other package went into the freezer.

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Which way will the war go?

My eyesight is going again... in case you missed it... Netanyahu snaps back against growing US criticism after being accused of losing his...
