Feels like triple digits of heat outside and so it must be time for...

SOUP!

Well, inside it's nice and comfortable down into the mid seventies! (Due to air-conditioning, but of course!)

Corn chowder was my choice to make from scratch today and I just so happen to have all the ingredients, and besides we ate leftover suppers for lunch!
The chowder was served with a half of a baguette that we picked up from Publix's bakery the last time we went shopping. I had frozen it, so smacking it on the counter top broke it into three additional pieces on the one end, leaving half to go back, just perfect! By the time the soup was ready it was defrosted just right!

Corn is high in anti-oxidants and helps with eyesight and clear skin as well as it being loaded with fiber.
Frozen corn was used, about two cups for just us.
Sauteed half of a white onion chopped.
Two cups of no sodium chicken bouillon.
1/4 cup of 1% fat milk, and a 1/4 cup of Greek nonfat yogurt.
Two tablespoons of flour.
Three slices of bacon cooked crispy and crumpled.
One large Russet potato pre peeled and cooked and chopped.
Combine all and simmer, add Kosher salt and black cracked pepper to taste.

The soup pot yielded several large cup portions with more for leftovers!

Moving on...

Today, I called the podiatrist and thought that I would be getting an appointment for my first visit with this specialist weeks down the line, but no, amazingly I got an appointment for this week!
YAY!

I suppose it's because the "Snowbirds" are not back here yet.

Moving on some more...

Officially, many locales south of us would like the world to know that a month after being hit by Hurricane Irma they are open for business that is TOURISTS!

Many locations are, you know.
Some are partially reopening, but all utilities are working everywhere!
We need the businesses world; so come on down!

Our mini vacay was one hundred miles north of here and all was well there, pretty much.

Even our county is fine!
Little damage and all stores and hotels functioning.
Beaches cleaned and neat too!
Most are, top priority here, money maker there and there and there...!

We have yet to have gone out in our boat, Hubby is still working down there, at the dock and lift, so no time yet.

After Hurricane Charlie the debris in the waterways was significant, but that was a direct hit, Category 4, and this time Irma skirted our county, thank you very much, so not as much damage as there could have been!
WHEW!

Pray for all people dealing with all natural disasters and help!
