It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that we have decided to...

...DUMP OUR RAIN BARRELS! One hundred and ten gallons of clean rain water in our gardens that now has been used on them and turned over to never be filled again! Unless...read on, the below described problem is resolved that is...
And no, no standing water police came out to shout at us.
Besides the fact that we have had vegetable oil floating on the surface to prevent eggs being laid as the environmental department at the university had taught us when our concerns years ago were just, but not as dangerous to maintain or heaven forbid to forget.
ZIKA has made us all VERY concerned, which in many cases can be blamed on the mosquito of the Aedes aegypti name, about seventy cases have been recorded throughout our state.
Although, most can be attributed to acquirement by people who had travelled to countries where the infestations are at dangerous levels.
Our own state of Florida has not claimed of having been any cause of the origins yet for these cases; albeit I think that now a couple have been proven to have been transmitted via sexual contact of previously infected people elsewhere.
I truly believe this article is beneficial to people all over the world! Please read the link below.

In the above CDC, Center for Disease Control in Atlanta Georgia United States of America, article it appears that the mosquito and therefore the virus is most prevalent in elevations of less than 6,500 feet.

The main reasoning for our concern is the young couple living next door to us, they have one small youngster and are both of that age of possibly conceiving another one, and no we have not told them anything, but I did ask Hubby to do it thinking of the horrid possibilities if anything happened.

In truth due to feral cats for the last couple of years we have not had a veggie garden, and our other gardens of flowers and trees are not water deprived this year due to historically unusual rains in our dry season.
Also ironically our sticky humidity has arrived most recently with our higher temperatures that are also not our usual yet for this time of year!
Thus creating the possibility being ripe for a breeding ground for those nasty insects!
Thankfully our pond, although most recently a fine feeding ground for one lone green heron appearing like clockwork daily, and oh so cute, who does enjoy munching on our plentiful amount of mosquito eater fish that multiply faster than rabbits!
The remaining ones, mosquito eating fish, do a fine job of eating any eggs that mosquitoes might lay!

Moving on...

Today is the Florida primary good luck Florida!
Vote for the RIGHT PERSON, PLEASE PEOPLE I am depending on you! I really hope that Florida FEELS THE BERN and does Vote for BERNIE!
