That's it, the fifth of May.
What else?
What were you thinking?
That there is more?
According to most who actually live in Mexico we, i.e. in the USA, celebrate this date more than they do.
This date actually commemorates Mexico's army's 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla in the in the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867).

Hubby picked up our personal celebratory dinner from Plaza Mexico right here in Port Charlotte, it was extremely busy due to the holiday. He had to park two lots away.
I again ordered from the vegetarian menu and Hubby got his burritos supreme and this time we also ordered one flan to share, hmm, hmm delish!
I know not exactly dietetic but mine was better than other choices according to the people who try to help people choose better when wanting to eat out.

Moving on...
We have been living under the threat of stormy weather most of today, so outdoor projects for Hubby were put on hold.
Instead we discussed our itinerary for our vacay(vacation, isn't that what the kids call it these days?) in the next couple of months.
No, we are not going to go while it's too hot or most families are on theirs. Being retired has its advantages of not having to go during the usual times, off season is more cost effective and that is what we are counting on.
And no, so far no rain, and I was so sure I confidently told Hubby it was a great time to sprinkle the weed and feed and yes he did, so he did do something outside today, oops.
When I was well I would take advantage of the beginning rains to go out and walk all over the lawn using our hand held spreader to fertilize as the rain gently fell. Next month starts the legit rainy season when we can no longer safely fertilize our lawns due to extreme runoff into the saltwater canals. High nitrogen is notorious for causing environmental issues.
On that note of telling you all that I got here nightly, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all of those overages with you know whom and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
