BIRDS, the ones that invade, the snow type and then flee that flaky cold stuff coming here yearly, being of the northern dwellers half of the year human species, they have left, finally, or more appropriately have flown the coop for the season of their six months of here and then there, again and again.
Quieter here in restaurants, roadways and in retail environments though, but also their lack numbers are also responsible for events taking an extreme down turn, therefore not continued until their return... thus the second word emblazoned in my title, "BORED".
And although my body is feeling BETTER, numero three word, there is not much to do, nothing going on....Now Bitter is the fact of our temperature due to our recent weather here taking a BIG downturn for the cooler/ colder...brrrrrrrrrr BITTER cold for May, 60's here overnight and in some inland places 50's in the overnight temps and then in the mornings too, but 80's up in the afternoon, as we were spoiled after all those above hot temps of seventies overnight and many 90's during the day for March and April. Those cold temps make our swimming pool too cold to be acceptable for me to do my ROM, range of motion exercises, oh pooh! Below 80 some days colder since this begun, too brr for me.
Moving on...
So sadly I was not at all productive today.
And I suppose, to be very honest, not being able to sleep but three hours last night is not all that BETTER!
Okay, so here's the truth, my darn ear again. I, like many people do, I sleep on my side, and it can be mostly my left and since it is my "left" ear in pain I have been trying hard to sleep on my right, but my "right" shoulder also keeps me awake due to its pain so I guess you get my dilemma, hmm?
Even with 20mg. of Baclofen, anti-spasmodic/pain med and 300mg. of Gabapentin also anti-spasmodic/pain med and my 81 mg. of coated aspirin nightly I still have this nasty problem. PS all medications are prescribed as well as my nightly 40mg. of Simvastatin at bedtime for years now. Although, the Baclofen and Gabapentin mg. have varied and I do have the option to adjust them according to need. But they are very strong medications with many side effects that I rather use at these lower doses, actually I was trying to get rid of them all together, but you see how well that worked, I did reduce both to half of what I had been taking though
On a brighter note Hubby was quite productive and mowed our sparse lawn. It always looks this way at this time of year just before rainy season. This is our first home out of our last four (five in total) that does not have an irrigation system, odd considering that was the business were in and sold back in 1986 in NJ when we moved here, our other two homes in Florida had the systems. And it would have been no issue for Hubby to install one here except for the city water being quite expensive and all the others were on wells.
We investigated a well here but since we are waterfront, saltwater front the price for an Artisan was in our minds not cost effective. Our NJ one was Artisan, and the other two in Florida on the other coast were shallow and high in iron leaving everything orange, causing the use of muriatic acid quite frequently. Those two areas on the east coast of Florida eventually went to using reclaimed water, the better idea for watering.
Maybe someday they will do that here.
Thus our rain barrels for gardens, not lawn use.
On that note of everyday things change so to look forward to that happier change, and allow me now to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly count all your blessings and share all those overages with you know whom and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
