What once was considered a beautiful display, became much to care for...Something that not only attracted compliments from our neighbors and friends and relatives, but also was a haven for birds, wasps, and even eventually rats! I personally dug our beautiful Bougainvillea out and moved it down by the saltwater canal years ago and the one there has thrived quite well, and so we got a twofer, unbeknownst to me until a few years later! Yes, the one I had thought I dug entirely out of the ground, grew once again and provided that lovely display that got all those rave reviews! This was way before Hurricane Charley circa 2004. As is shown in the PIC just below.
Although years went on and neither Hubby or I felt the need to do anything but trim it back over and over again... until its recent not very nice dwellers... Makes one reconsider exactly what we are providing here as a habitat, hmm? We love the birds that come and visit our yard and we provide seed and water for them as we watch them daily and have for years... but it's not just the seed that attracts the vermin it's the fact that we have a fish pond and fruit trees, which have been known to also attract fruit bats, osprey, and hawks and squirrels and opossums and gosh ibis, and herons of every type and on and on and on... thus our backyard has been a wonderful salt-waterfront habitat for many animals and that is nothing to sneeze at... but go right ahead if you are allergic! And so this time Hubby tackled the enormous plant that it had become and had to be de-tangled from the wires and hooks that had been supporting it so well all these years! The decision was one of needing to have less work for us at our ages and abilities as well as the BAD habitat realization! So logically, you do what you gotta do and hope that people don't judge you too severely? Gosh with all that's going on the world we all know that there is so many more important things to think about!
The above PIC here is the bald beam without the Bougainvillea, it does make me slightly sadden by its austere appearance truly! And just when you think that it might have been a small mistake...look below; choices are not always so clear cut... and things have a way of changing... and if we decide not to kill off the stumps, as we had considered... Something has to be said for even floras desire to continue when you are not as sure as might have once been?
Oh this last PIC I just threw in to show you my weights for the pool.
Sadly my body did not want to co-operate today, kicking either on my tummy or on my back created quite a bit of pain, and so its like that old joke, if it hurts when you do that... don't do that! Bud dump dum...!
So I just walked back and forth and tried some arm action, some things worked but others didn't so this is just more proof I need that PT, and I am very happy that I will be continuing and I hope that all of you are doing what's good for you too!
On that note of whatever's dope, huh, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share the overages and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
