Throwback Thursday 2

 Bamber Lake NJ, 1978-1986

Anyone who has built a house probably realizes that if their lot is not cleared and in a specific neighborhood they are responsible for taking care of that procedure. As you can see that is number one son, at six and half years old helping up in that seat with one of Hubby's co-workers from his then white collar job, in management. His friend/associate had this particular piece of machinery for his side-business and offered to help for free that time. Being a father himself he asked number one to help him and of course daddy said sure, but I was a bit concerned, alright, BIG TIME worried, but it worked out fine and he had a great time, what six year old wouldn't have? This next picture to me is amazing and wonderful at the same time, from left to right, me, again with dark hair, odd how I didn't remember how many times I went back to au-natural, my MOM and next my Dad and last Hubby's Mom! The trailer in the back of them was our idea of camping a Prowler with all the amenities 1978 could buy, while under construction it became the foreman's office, in other words, My Dad's. But only when Hubby was at work and I was busy transporting our sons from here to there and there to here...our little guy wasn't even three yet.

Hubby's Mom and number one son and our little one's in the middle all posing while construction was well underway. We had broken ground in November of 1978, not advisable to do in New Jersey due to it being winter and all.

The above picture is actually from the day we were moving to Florida, our last time to see our home back in August of 1986. PS as a Bi-level the garages were on the right side under the house two over-sized openings, with oak front garage doors.
As the boys got older they originally fought over who would get to use the John Deere, but soon the novelty wore off,as all do and Hubby had to mow or designate one of them at least to help!
This picture I do believe was after my Mom had passed away in February, months later, around Father's Day with my Dad and giving him the Best Grandpa to our sons and Dad to me and Hubby certificates or some such thing.

This picture has in the forefront Hubby's brother's youngest daughter, Nancy, six months older than our youngest, a mother of two boys these days, then our little son, same brother's eldest child, his son, Michael, Hubby's Mom, our number one and next to him his middle cousin, Amie, who today has three grown daughter's of her own and she is almost exactly a year older than our number one son!

After Hubby had gone into the underground sprinkler business in the early 1980's on occasion during construction nature might be disturbed and so Hubby brought home some bunnies without a Mom and at that time the local vet would examine them and tell you what to feed them by eyedropper, formula wise and so we did. Hoping to eventually release them back into nature. Sadly they did not survive, but believe me when I say it was not from lack of trying, we pretty much would feed them every two hours as told by the vet who had examined them and I do believe it was Karo-syrup and nonfat dry milk or some such thing, at body temperature warmth.
This is our family room down stairs, that fireplace was one of the first heaterlators that promised to assist in heating the entire home, but fell short and we sued and won via my best friend's husband an attorney. All it really was for was the final payment actually, since it did not do what their sale's pitch said it would in writing.
Little guy thrilled with this non-high tech toy and below with one of the Smurf's, I think it could have been his birthday or some holiday? Not sure.

This is puppy Benji, our male Yorkie in 1984 with Puffy the cat, she was five by then. That is the wood stove we installed upstairs in the living room that also was helpful with maintaining the comfort in this over three thousand square foot, five bedroom/three bath home even though with its three zone baseboard heat; state of the art in those days, it did aid in keeping those utility bills down.
Our sons in the kitchen enjoying the gift!

On that note of happy memories, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
