Fun today!

I have finally gone back into our own swimming pool!
Why hadn't I gone in, in all these very warm months before, one might ask?
Well, it's because I did a very stupid thing a few years ago.
Number one son is a bamboo enthusiast and has nurtured and grown many types in "pots" on his large acreage of property, and so he brought us a small cluster a few years back.
My bright idea with this largess body of mine that I lack  the desire of wanting anyone to see me in even my extremely old gal bathing suit, black with a skirt, but hides a multitude of imperfections, really.
Although, still not very attractive as a grotesquely obese woman these days.
Any-who, due to me not wanting the neighbors to observe me I suggested for privacy's sake, mine that is that those sprigs of bamboo should be planted at the end of the pool, it did seem logical to me at the time.
And it wasn't long before they spread out and filled the space with an enormous buffer from the prying eyes of the neighbors. The one directly across from us I  saw one day that he was using binoculars and facing our yard!

So now you understand why although we have fencing on three sides; when you back up to a waterway, and in our case a saltwater canal, code does not require you to have all four sides closed in, even with an in-ground swimming pool, due to the theory that any intruders would have to swim to the property or boat; thus a small child would not be able to do either and anyway if they swam, they would be water safe.

Now, here is where the problem lies, besides our lovely bougainvillea framing our covered patio/lanai the leaves from the bamboo were quite intrusive, falling into the pool constantly, more so than the bougainvillea!
So for all these weeks Hubby has been hardily working on removing the bamboo, a little bit each day, in between doctors' appointments, rain and heat, mowing the lawn etc...on and on. Frustrating, since it had become so massive with deep roots!
You see, the newer idea was to make a white fence shorter than our outer one, but on the two sides that neighbors could see. And yep, Hubby even built that and painted that from our left over cedar fencing, what an incredible guy!

This morning he even made sure the pH was right as well as the chlorine, and the temperature all were PUR-FECT this morning and so I spent my first time in quite awhile in that 85 degree balanced water and enjoyed every minute of it! Tomorrow too and I am looking forward too for everyday that it doesn't threaten vicious weather, scary thunder did have me leave sooner than I wanted to...

Believe it or not  after that we went over to Pirate Fest's annual festivities at Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda and it was beyond all expectations, cars were parked about a mile away, almost all close by ones were nearly filled. But handicapped spots were free and nearer by and the Explorer Scouts found us a spot, although Hubby had quite a walk, but  I used my scooter.
Horrifically, I did forget my camera, we both have ones in our dumb phones, but those are not good at all, another case of  you get what you pay for, hmm? My usual Cannon one still does great even at about ten years old.

On that note of sometimes fun can be had when you set your mind to it, and thinking out of the box or even in it? Please allow me to be the very first to wish all of you all a very happy good night and ask all of you to please count all your blessings and share all those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, you hear?
