Pseudo-exacerbation today!

Heat induced pseudo-exacerbation's are common this time of year, especially when one has Multiple sclerosis.
Now common sense would tell anyone that has not walked outside too much due to their medical issues that deciding to get exercise in while walking (using my walker, of course) from a parking lot to their fitness club to exercise when the thermometer reaches the low nineties is more than foolish, it's downright stupid!

Unfortunately, I was misinformed yesterday while talking to my Florida Blue, Silver Sneakers department, YOU MUST BE ON MEDICARE to have that program available to you! I did what the woman had told me yesterday to do...I went to the YouFit counter and handed the fellow Aiden from Scotland my insurance card, but he wanted my pseudo-license I.D.; given to me in lieu of my driver's license renewal, since I no longer drive, better for all really! Any-who, he said I do not qualify for the Silver Sneakers program, and so it was suggested that I call my insurance company back and I did, but with the background noise I had difficulty hearing, so Hubby took over with his phone and then for hearing purposes we went outside, yes into that 91 degree sauna!
The woman said what I have is the Florida Member 360 Plan or some such thing, which entitles me to discounts at certain clubs that are involved with the program. So I went back inside and was told that YouFit does not subscribe. Their prices are not bad, but I got another idea from my card starring up at me from my wallet when I had been getting those other ones out... my Independent Exercise card from the Rehab, it had six visits left and all paid for, and it was in the same complex just around the corner...
But we got back into our air-conditioned car, and me with my cooling vest still on and believe or not still cooling me...
Hubby parked over in their parking lot, in another handicapped spot.
He gave me my choice of the walker or the scooter, seeing that I appeared to be warm and a bit tired already; I said the walker. Little did I know that my desire to try to get slim and win, would be a mistake to do all in one day.

Of  course the facility like all here in Florida is well air cooled with a constant temp of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, the contrast of more then twenty degrees felt delightful!
Hubby showed me some pieces of equipment that I hadn't tried before and I decided to try the one where you sit and your legs lift a padded bar I started and Hubby noticed I was lifting twenty pounds, I said it felt okay and so for the first day in months I thought two sets of ten reps was a conservative beginning, since I would be using other equipment. I was a bit dizzy but not too warm and eagerly went over to the total gym that I had used for months before another leg strengthening piece of equipment.
When I left I had gotten up to one hundred reps with the two others that I had used, so I thought I would try, half that, fifty and I did.
I should have known when I got over there and started to get onto the slanted padded body board I was pretty dizzy, and I thought forget about it, don't be such a wimp!

Mission accomplish, I completed all fifty reps, but when I went to dismount my legs buckled under me and I could barely make it over to my walker seat. Hubby after I had a few sips more of my club soda, which I always have with me, in its stainless steal canister...and Hubby asked if I now needed the scooter, and yep I gave in!
He drove it right along side of me I had trouble getting my now lifeless legs on it and this after only ten-ish, maybe closer to fifteen minutes of exercise I was scooting back to the car with Hubby following behind with my walker.
Any-who, I have five more visits still available and I would like to try again in a couple of days.
I wore surgical gloves, hot and sweaty but clean, which they provide as well as masks, if need be and we did clean everything we used.
Who knows, it could be my answer...but what's the question? HA!

Seriously, I will investigate that other program more.
I do have a second opinion appointment with a Orthopedic Surgeon scheduled for August, would you believe, and an ENT office person, Jennifer, is checking to see if her doctor, Hernandez, is still with my insurance. He is the same one I went to back in 2006.

On that note of me doing the logical thing to handle it all,one day at a time...allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

PS Once I cooled down, in the car with the air-conditioning and with lotsa cool club soda I was ready to finish our intended plans of lunch at Subway and then grocery shopping, and I did make it through both... see determination! I got it!
