A large portion of these United States is dealing with the 'polar vortex':
http://climatechange.cornell.edu/what-is-a-polar-vortex/
More than half of our US has been in a frozen state again.
Snow has fallen by the footage, not inches, in the northeastern part of this fair land...
But no snow here in paradise, although not from the lack of trying.
Frost and frozen standing water has occurred as a real below freezing situation has befallen in the northern and inland areas of his state of Florida, which is not that usual in this very warm state...
Why even here, where we live on a saltwater canal in the southwestern part of the state, five minutes from Charlotte Harbor via boat, it had registered thirty-seven degrees Fahrenheit this morning on our thermometer but warmed to a tolerable seventy degrees for our high this afternoon!
More unnatural chilling temps will be happening tonight. Not good for those crops or livestock... people are warned to cover with cloth, (plastic can harm vegetation) their gardens with tropical flora or home veggie gardens for protection.
Hubby, fortunately, has not begun any veggies for this season.
My title suggests to my snowed in pals to stay indoors, don't try to drive; since the news has been broadcasting horrible pileups for those who don't heed the warnings. Most schools have closed where the snow or ungodly temperatures have befallen my countrymen and women and children! Businesses too have had to close for the time being; not very many customers if they were to open anyway,I am sure.
Of course necessary medical, police, and firefighters are all on the ready and never ever close, but food and gas businesses probably are available in many areas too but just smattering's.
STAY HOME THOUGH, IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO LEAVE! It is safer! A good time to take that breather from all that stuff and enjoy your partners and children or what you wish!
And know that we send our hopes for any early spring for our northern realm friends, and they will find that out on February 2nd, on Groundhog's Day! Far as our warmer temps go... it is usually every few days, with some back lashings to a chill, but we are more than likely not as severe as them...
On that note for all to be warmer and safer, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know who and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
